(15-23)” -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu - Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs  Chapter 5. Proverbs 5 warns us against the sin of adultery and the damage it can do to a family.  We are to cling to our own spouse.   “22 The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin.  23 He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is led astray.” Proverbs 5:22-23 (English Standard Version) ESV.    The world may tell us that what we do when out of town stays out of town.  God’s Word reminds us that when we sin we bring death into our relationship and life (see Matthew 5:27-29)!  Sin is to our soul as cancer is to our body (see Romans 6:23).  Living for Jesus will bring us life a more abundant life. “11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,” Titus 2:11-12  ESV.  The gift of God brings us eternal life in the name of Jesus (see Ephesians 3:19-21).  Jesus is the only Way in; “9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:9-11 ESV.
