Today’s Feast
Sep. 20, 2014- Daniel 12
The Time of the End
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this,
that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written
in heaven."” Luke 10:20
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Daniel Chapter 12;
“The conclusion of the vision of the Scriptures of truth. (1-4) The
times of the continuance of these events. (5-13)
1-4.
Michael signifies, "Who is like God," and his name, with the title
of "the great Prince," points out the Divine Saviour… Those who turn many to righteousness, who
turn sinners from the errors of their ways, and help to save their souls from
death, ( James
5:20 ) , will share in the glory of those they have helped to
heaven, which will add to their own glory.
Verses
5-13 One of the angels asking how long it should be to the end of
these wonders, a solemn reply is made, that it would be for a time, times,
and a half, the period mentioned ch. 7:25 ,
and in the Revelation. It signifies 1260 prophetic days or years, beginning
from the time when the power of the holy people should be scattered… Believers are happy at all times; they rest
in God by faith now, and a rest is reserved for them in heaven at last.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
Daniel
is shown the dead will rise to be judged; and those whose name is written in
the Book Of Life (see Daniel
12:1-2) will rise to everlasting life and the others to shame and
everlasting contempt. The Saints that
love the Lord and serve to bring others to Jesus will be rewarded; (see Daniel
12:3-4) Daniel is charged to seal the book. One of the angels asks how long shall it be
till the end another answered; “for a time, times, and
half a time…”; “13
So, Daniel, be faithful until the end! You will rest, and at the end of time,
you will rise from death to receive your reward.” Daniel 11:42-45 English Standard Versions (ESV). Every person who repents and accepts Jesus (see John
3:16) will be rewarded with
life eternal. “23
"Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God, for he
has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you
abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.” Joel 2:23 ESV. We know that God’s
steadfast love lives forever (see Psalm
100:1-2) and we will sing in loud
voices thankful for the blessings God provides today and until the time of
the end.
