Are The Worker & Soldier Both Approved by God?

Today’s Feast clic aquí en español * Feb.24, 2014 – 2nd Timothy 2 Worker & Soldier Approved by God? “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”  Philippians 4:13 2nd Timothy Chapter 2, “The apostle exhorts Timothy to persevere with diligence, like a soldier, a combatant, and a husbandman. (1-7) Encouraging him by assurances of a happy end of his faithfulness. (8-13) Warnings to shun vain babblings and dangerous errors. (14-21) Charges to flee youthful lusts, and to minister with zeal against error, but with meekness of spirit. (22-26)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading 2nd Timothy Chapter 2.   Paul a brother in Jesus Christ is continuing to encourage Timothy, his Christian brother (See 2 Timothy 4:5) in his service to Jesus.  He reminds Timothy to look to Jesus, the author of their faith, (see Hebrews 12:2) for strength and help.  “24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.“   2 Timothy 2:24-26   English Standard Versions (ESV).   Take notice Saints Paul is not enticing his brother Timothy to attack the worldly and make them repent.   He warned him not to fight or banter (see Titus 3:9) with worldly people.  “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”  Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV.  It is far better to encourage than to discourage sinners.  Think about Jesus and how he approached (see Matthew 11:29-30) those who were lost in sin!  Whether we are a Worker or Soldier love and patience will be rewarded by Jesus.
