Nov. 23, 2013 – Psalms 116 & 117 Psalms Chapter 116- “The psalmist declares his love to the Lord. (1-9) His desire to be thankful. (10-19)” - Matthew Henry Concise Psalms Chapter 117- “All people called upon to praise God.” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 116 & Psalms 117 In Chapter 116 the Psalmist is reminding us how great our God is.  He calls God’s people to give God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. “17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.”  Psalm 116:17 - English Standard Version (ESV).  In chapter 17 He calls on all people to know the everlasting love of our God.  “1 Praise the Lord, all nations!  Extol him, all peoples!  2 For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.  Praise the Lord!    Psalm 117 - ESV.  These are the reasons I love the “Thanksgiving” holiday.  It certainly is an opportunity for the Saints to call on all people to know the love of Jesus and therefor offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving.  “4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; 5 his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:4-5  – ESV.  Let all believers share the love of Jesus Christ at home and wherever they go. (See Matthew 28:16-20).  We can share Jesus in love and allow the Holy Spirit to convict them (See 1 Thessalonians 1:5). Father as we all come together let us truly offer thanksgiving in the name of Jesus!
