The Well Dressed Saint! August 13, 2013 – Ephesians 6 Today’s Feast Ephesians 6 – “The duties of children and parents. (1-4) Of servants and masters. (5-9) All Christians are to put on spiritual armour against the enemies of their souls. (10-18) The apostle desires their prayers, and ends with his apostolic blessing. (19-24)” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Ephesians 6.  “1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:1-4 ESV.  “13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.”  Ephesians 6:13-18 ESV.   Paul end’s the letter to the Ephesians giving a good example of the father child relationship.  Then before he closes he tells us who the enemy is and how to stand against him.  Let me know how you feel about spiritual enemies and the Christian stand, in a reply or an email. Jesus is separating the saints and the sinners. He is calling, can you still hear him?  He won’t call forever, now is the time to answer his call.
