Try To Love God?

Today’s Feast

Oct. 15, 2015 – Judges 17

Try To Love God?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

22 Therefore you are great, O Lord God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears." 2 Samuel 7:22, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in Judges Chapter 17; “The beginning of idolatry in Israel, Micah and his mother. (1-6) Micah hires a Levite to be his priest. (7-13)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we see a practical application of holding people up to the Word of God. When Micah meets a young man, a Levite, he becomes his patron. “10 And Micah said to him, “Stay with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year and a suit of clothes and your living.” And the Levite went in. 11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man, and the young man became to him like one of his sons. 12 And Micah ordained the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah. 13 Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, because I have a Levite as priest.”Judges 17:10-13, ESV. We’ve said that we need to keep our eyes on God not on people. Micah is not a wise man, he is religious but his relationship with God is in bad shape. We know that because he makes Idols and worships strange gods. His delusions make him think that God is pleased with him and he thinks God sent the young Levite to him. The truth is the only way Micah could please God is to turn from his idolatry and stop worshiping false god. We all need to live our lives pleasing God. “9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,” Colossians 1:9-11, ESV. God’s Word tells us how we should live. In His Word we find the things that are pleasing and important to God. “28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”Mark 12:27-31, ESV. Try to love God and our fellow man while keeping the first thing first. That’s salvation through the blood of Jesus.

Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,[a] but the Father only.Matthew 24:36, ESV. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to change anything. Click this link for more information; admenu.com/calling.htm .
