Today's FeastJuly 9, 2015 – Deuteronomy 1Is Doing Nothing Rebellion?
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“20
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we
ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him
be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all
generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians
3:20-21
English Standard Version (ESV).
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast by
reading Deuteronomy
Chapter
1;
“This
book repeats much of the history and of the laws contained in the
three foregoing books: Moses delivered it to Israel a little
before his death, both by word of mouth, that it might affect, and
by writing, that it might abide. The men of that generation to
which the law was first given were all dead, and a new generation
was sprung up, to whom God would have it repeated by Moses
himself, now they were going to possess the land of Canaan. The
wonderful love of God to his church is set forth in this book; how
he ever preserved his church for his own mercies sake, and would
still have his name called upon among them. Such are the general
outlines of this book, the whole of which shows Moses' love for
Israel, and marks him an eminent type of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us apply the exhortations and persuasions to our own
consciences, to excite our minds to a believing, grateful
obedience to the commands of God.
The
words Moses spake to Israel in the plains of Moab, The promise of
Canaan. (1-8)
Judges provided for the people. (9-18)
Of the sending the spies-God's anger for their unbelief and
disobedience. (19-46)”
-
Matthew
Henry Concise.
Today
we see God's people
rebelling against God through their procrastination. God told
them to go and posses the land;
“
8 See, I have set the land before you. Go in and take possession
of the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to
Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their offspring after
them.’“
Deuteronomy
1:8
ESV. Then
the
Israelites rebelled against God and didn't do as he told them;
“26
“Yet you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of
the Lord your God. 27 And you murmured in your tents and said,
‘Because the Lord hated us he has brought us out of the land of
Egypt, to give us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.”
Deuteronomy
1:26-27
ESV.
They
angered
God by there lack of faith. So God told them not to go up against
the inhabitants of the land. They decided in their own time to go
ahead and take what God had originally told them to take. Because
of their procrastination and unfaithfulness they they loose their
promised land;
“43
So I spoke to you, and you would not listen; but you rebelled
against the command of the Lord and presumptuously went up into
the hill country. 44 Then the Amorites who lived in that hill
country came out against you and chased you as bees do and beat
you down in Seir as far as Hormah.”
Deuteronomy
1:43-44
ESV.
Listen
up saints; Jesus gave us a mission to go in faith and spread God's
Word; “19
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And
behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.“
Matthew
28:18-20
ESV. Procrastination
is rebellion against God! So
don't procrastinate against
the direction of the Holy Spirit; that is rebellion against God.
Seek God, pray and read the word and
go forward now and share the love of God in Jesus name.
I send the Feast out as the Holy Spirit inspires me. Lord willing
I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.
Is
Jesus knocking at your door? Are you ready to answer God’s call?
Don’t
get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our
salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus
sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and
accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the
angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
Matthew
24:36
ESV. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not
wait while you try to change anything;
