Today’s Feast Oct. 12, 2014- Amos 6 About The Self-Satisfied clic aquí en español Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.  Gods Not Dead! “1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.”  James 5:1 Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Amos Chapter 6; “The danger of luxury and false security. (1-7) Punishments of sins. (8-14)” - Matthew Henry Concise God is warning those who are comfortable and happy with themselves; (see Amos 6:1-7) those who believe they are entitled and truly believe they are not guilty of sin.   God hates the self-sufficient prideful persons; (see Amos 6:8-14) they refuse to mention God's name, or worship him!  Therefore God will not bless them; “13 you who rejoice in Lo-debar, who say, "Have we not by our own strength captured Karnaim for ourselves?" 14 "For behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel," declares the LORD, the God of hosts; "and they shall oppress you from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of the Arabah."” Amos 6:13-14 English Standard Versions (ESV).  Those who do not recognize God’s gifts; (see Proverbs 16:18) will meet with destruction; “8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, 9 for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9 ESV.  We must love God first and obey our mother and father (see Exodus 20:12) then we will have a long life full of God’s blessings.  Don’t become self-satisfied; center your life on Jesus (see Matthew 6:33) and God will bless you and supply all your needs. Do your hear Jesus knocking at the door of your heart?  Don’t wait another minute to leave, change or quit anything (see Revelation 3:20) Jesus is at knocking at your door this minute.  He wants you to come just as you are!   Do you hear Jesus calling you?  Will you answer Him today?
