Love? Really? Mark 12

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3Mark 12
l The Feast l
Apr 17_2012 Mark 12

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Mark 12. We serve the living God with you. Here in Mark a scribe asked Jesus what the most important commandment is; “28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God,the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”” Mark 12:28 - 31, English Standard Version (ESV). Our loving God is faithful and we could not love Him this much without a personal relationship. Notice the second; “‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.’” Mark 12:31 ESV. You see we want a personal faith based relationship with Jesus. So if we love our neighbor as much as ourselves we will want them to have the same thing. Salvation and a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus. This is keeping the first thing first “Salvation by the blood of the Lamb, God’s gift of love for us.”16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16 English Standard Version (ESV). Just knowing who Jesus is isn’t enough, we need a faith based relationship with Him. “Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.” - Hebrews 11:6, HCSB. If you and I want to serve God in Saintly Service, love and faith, also not willing that any shall perish. Then we will want to share God’s love with those around us. “13 No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you.” - John 15:13-14 HCSB. Lets continue to faithfully Saintly Serve our Lord keeping His commandments. Keeping the first thing first which is salvation a gift from the Father paid for in the blood of Jesus, in which we are sealed by the Holy Spirit. “[Christ the Wisdom and Power of God] For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 ESV. 16 know that no one is justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. And we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will be justified.” Galatians 2:16 HCSB.
