Taming the Tongue

Today’s Feast Sep. 3, 2014-James 3 Taming the Tongue clic aquí en español Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.  Gods Not Dead! “37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."” Matthew 12:37 Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of James Chapter 3; “Cautions against proud behaviour, and the mischief of an unruly tongue. (1-12) The excellence of heavenly wisdom, in opposition to that which is worldly. (13-18)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.  The tongue a small member of our body (see James 3:1-12 ) if it is left unbridled it can destroy the whole body.  We are instructed to be humble and wise (see James 3:13-18) as we plant seeds of peace, and attain justice; “17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18 English Standard Version (ESV).  Those who are mature follow Jesus (see Philippians 3:15) and depend on the Holy Spirit for guidance in thought and deed.   “17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17 ESV.  Those who rebel and turn away from God (see Matthew 13:14-15) will have their senses dulled until the judgment day.  Can you still hear Jesus calling you?
