Can we live in harmony?

Can we live in harmony?      May 20, 2013 – Ezra 10       Return to Admenu Home   Admenu’s Alternate Site           Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully Feast in Ezra 10 .  In the Feast today we see the suffering of the people who disobey God.  What seemed good at the time that their trespasses took place now brings the people to their knees!   “1 While Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, a very great assembly of men, women, and children, gathered to him out of Israel, for the people wept bitterly. 2 And Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, of the sons of Elam, addressed Ezra: “We have broken faith with our God and have married foreign women from the peoples of the land, but even now there is hope for Israel in spite of this. 3 Therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all these wives and their children, according to the counsel of my lord and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God, and let it be done according to the Law. 4 Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.” 5 Then Ezra arose and made the leading priests and Levites and all Israel take an oath that they would do as had been said. So they took the oath.”  Ezra 10:1-5 English Standard Version (ESV).  In hind sight it is easy to see the pain that sin causes.   “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” . Romans 15:5-6 ESV.  If we want to live according to the will of God, we need to hold any and all decisions up to God’s Word. When we make well informed decisions (according to God’s Word) we bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus.  When we bring glory and honor to Jesus, we live in harmony enjoying the fruit of Christian living.   Jesus wants you?  Do you hear that small voice calling; sinner com home?  Do you want to choose good over evil?
