Feb 9, 2013 - 2 Kings 24

Dear  Saints,

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 24.  God spared King Josiah, whom He loved for his faithfulness.  After that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, sacked Judah and took King Jehoiakim prisoner.   The king of Babylon made Mattaniah king of Judah and changed his name to Zedekiah; “19 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done. 20 For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence.“ 2nd Kings 24:19-20 English Standard Version (ESV).  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He never lies and he took vengeance on God’s people because of their hard hearts.  God’s Word tells us how to live with a glad heart.  “[Thanksgiving] We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.” 2nd Thessalonians 1:3 ESV.  It is easy to complain and even be bitter to other.  That is not Gods plan for us Saints.  Don’t harden your heat towards one another but thank God for whatever circumstance you find yourself in.  Vengeance is not ours, however love is.  Remember faith comes by hearing God’s Word.   Keep the first thing first!  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Our goal is to serve God with an open heart holding all those who love Jesus and those who will, up in prayer and deed.

[ Love Your Enemies ] “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:43-45 ESV.
