Gods Not

“19 Repent,
then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of
refreshing may come from the Lord,” Acts
3:19
Jeremiah Chapter 25; “The Jews rebuked for not
obeying calls to repentance. (1-7) Their captivity
during seventy years is expressly foretold. (8-14) Desolations upon
the nations shown by the emblem of a cup of wrath.(15-29) The judgments
again declared. (30-38)” - Matthew Henry
Concise
Dear
Saints,
Today we
prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter
25. The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah. This people are wicked and unrepentant; (see
Jeremiah
25:1-7) they worship false gods made by their own hands. Because they worship false gods;
(see Jeremiah
25:8-14)
those who obey God will serve seventy years as slaves. The people who won’t
repent (see Jeremiah
21:9) will
die in their sin. Sin against God may be forgiven by a call to Jesus and repentance
though forgiven (see
Matthew
5:17-19) just like cancer it leaves scars.
The cup of the lord's wrath (see
Jeremiah
25:15-29) will be served to every sinful person in every nation
that sins and remains unrepentant; “36 A voice--the cry of the shepherds, and the wail of the lords of the flock! For the LORD is laying waste
their pasture, 37 and the peaceful folds are devastated because of the fierce anger of the LORD. 38 Like a
lion he has left his lair, for their land
has become a waste because of the sword of
the oppressor, and because of his fierce
anger." Jeremiah
25:36-38 English Standard Versions (ESV). It is not enough to live a Christian life
(see
James
2:13-15) Jesus expects us to reach out to the sinner and needy
with love. “16 For the Lord
himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an
archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will
rise first. 17 Then we who
are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the
Lord.“ 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 That great and wonderful day will come and all
that have repented from their sin and made Jesus Lord (see
James
2:18-26)
of their life will
be rewarded. Attending church meetings
two days a week is not enough; (see
Matthew
28:16-20)
Jesus has called on every believer to be ambassadors for salvation. Because our God’s will is that (see
2 Peter
3:9) none
should perish.

“49 So it
will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the
evil from the righteous” Matthew
13:49
Jeremiah
Chapter 24; “Good and bad figs
represent the Jews in captivity, and those who remain in their own
land.” -
Matthew Henry
Concise
Dear
Saints,
Today we
prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter
24. Jeremiah saw two baskets of figs; one good
and one bad; (see
Jeremiah
24:1-10) they represent those good people who love God and the
bad who deny God’s Glory. God has made a
way out of His wrath for those who love and obey Him (see Jeremiah 21:9) it’s
simple surrender to the Chaldeans and you shall live. God is awesome,
everything will work to the advantage of those who love God (see Romans 8:28) and are
called according to His purpose. Those who love and obey God shall live; 7 I will give them a
heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be
their God, for they shall return to me with their whole
heart.“ Jeremiah
24:7 English Standard Versions (ESV). Those who disobey and turn from God will die;
“10 And I will
send sword, famine, and pestilence upon them, until they shall be utterly
destroyed from the land that I gave to them and their
fathers.”“ Jeremiah
24:10 Our
God really is awesome and never changing!
Today while you still have a
choice (see Joshua 24:14) choose whom you shall
serve. Choose the one God who can say “I
am” (see
1 Corinthians 8:4-6) bring glory to
God in the name of Jesus today and forever.
“4 In God, whose word I
praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to
me?” Psalm 56:4
ESV. Tell those who love Jesus
(see
Romans 12:18-20) they will never have to fear
rumors, politics or evil men.

Jeremiah
Chapter 23;
“The restoration of
the Jews to their own land. (1-8) The wickedness of the
priests and prophets of Judah, The people exhorted not to listen to false
promises. (9-22) The pretenders to
inspiration threatened. (23-32) Also the scoffers at
true prophecy. (33-40)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise
Dear
Saints,
Today we
prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter
23. God promises to restore the lands of His
people who declare; (see
Jeremiah
23:1-8) “The Lord is our righteousness”. God is angry with the lying Prophets who proclaim that
(see Jeremiah
23:9-22) It shall be
well with those who do evil and deny God. False prophets share the deceit of their own
heart (see
Jeremiah 23:23-32) luring God’s
people to false gods and destruction. The rewards of false
prophet, or priest and those who follow them
are (see Jeremiah
23:33-40) to be destroyed along with their false gods; “39 therefore, behold,
I will surely lift you up and cast you away from my presence, you and the city
that I gave to you and your fathers. 40 And I will
bring upon you everlasting reproach and perpetual shame, which shall not be
forgotten.“ Jeremiah
22:30
English Standard Versions (ESV).
How can we know if a prophet is from God?
Hold their words and works up to the
light of God’s Word (see 1 John
4:1) do
those works bring Glory to God. Look to
see if they are behavior has good results (see
Matthew 7:15-20) results that
bring glory to God today and in the eternal life. “17 But the steadfast love
of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his
righteousness to children's children, 18 to
those who keep his covenant and remember to do his
commandments.” Psalm 103:17-18 ESV. Our
righteousness is in Jesus (see Philippians 3:8-10)
and not of ourselves.

“28 This is
my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of
sins.” Matthew
26:28
Jeremiah Chapter 22, “Justice is
recommended, and destruction threatened in case of disobedience. (1-9) The captivity of
Jehoiakim, and the end of Jeconiah. (10-19) The doom of the
royal family. (20-30)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise
Dear
Saints,
Today we
prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter
22. God tells to the king of Judah that he
must rule with justice and righteousness (see
Jeremiah
22:1-9) or endure the wrath God for breaking the covenant. God is angry with the Sons of King Josiah, Shallum and
Jehoiakim (see Jeremiah
22:10-19) for
practicing oppression and violence. Concerning Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, king
of Judah (see
Jer 22:20-30) he shall have no children to sit
on the throne of David.
“30 Thus says the Lord:
“Write this man down as childless, a man who shall not succeed in his days, for
none of his offspring shall succeed in sitting on the throne of David and ruling
again in Judah.” “ Jeremiah
22:30 English Standard Versions (ESV). We know our God is a loving God
(see John 3:16) He made the Way for us to live. Jesus is the forgiver of sins (see
Acts 4:11-12) He paid the whole price for our
salvation on the cross at Calvary.
“13 He has delivered us
from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved
Son, 14 in whom
we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Acts 20:24 ESV. Let’s keep
sharing the good news with the love of God in our hearts (see
Matthew 22:37-39) and a smile on our face. Remember in our covenant with God; the only
things we gave up when we accepted Jesus (see 1 Peter 1:17-19) were the things that
caused pain and misery.
