The Feast

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1st Samuel - Chapter 16, Sandy (my wife) and I read this Feast together. She commented this morning, this is so exciting and suspenseful on how hard it is to stop at the end of this chapter. My feelings are with her it is a real cliff hanger. “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "'Friend, your sins are forgiven.'" - Luke 5:20 I truly count it a blessing that we can truly sing; “What a friend we have in Jesus.” Our King, friend and savior makes life worth living. If our Lord is willing I'll send and post the Feast tomorrow.

“Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.”- Titus 2:2

Wed, Sep 9, 09, 1 Samuel - Chapter 16, Samuel sent to Bethlehem to Jesse. (1-5) David is anointed. (6-13) Saul troubled with an evil spirit, is quieted by David. (14-23).

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1st Samuel - Chapter 15, My wife and I had a wonderful weekend, we spent two refreshing days in Desert Center, CA. The Saints there were warm welcoming and on fire for Jesus. “It is the same to me if I am looked down on or honoured; everywhere and in all things I have the secret of how to be full and how to go without food; how to have wealth and how to be in need. I am able to do all things through him who gives me strength." - Philippians 4:12,13. If we enjoy what Jesus has for us we will be content and not contentious wherever we are. If our Lord is willing I'll send and post the Feast tomorrow.

Saul sent to destroy Amalek. (1-9) Saul excuses and commends himself. (10-23) Saul's imperfect humiliation. (24-31) Agag put to death, Samuel and Saul part. (32-35).

The Feast

Dear Saints,

This weekend we prayerfully continue our Feast beginning with; 1 Samuel 11 - 14. This is a 4 day weekend for me. I'll still pray and check my email as often as is possible. I'm going to a city called Desert Center, California to visit my friend Pastor Glen. I can't wait to get out there in the middle of the desert. "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14. No matter what we do for the next four day's keep God's word for nourishment and as a sword doing all we can do, to share God's Word and take a stand for Jesus. “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. ” - Romans 13:12.

Lord willing I will send & post the feast again Tuesday.

“What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.”- 2 Timothy 1:13-14

Sat, September 5, 2009, 1 Samuel 12, Samuel testifies his integrity. (1-5) Samuel reproves the people. (6-15) Thunder sent in harvest time. (16-25).

Sun, September 6, 2009, 1 Samuel 13, - The invasion of the Philistines. (1-7) Saul sacrifices, He is reproved by Samuel. (8-14) The policy of the Philistines. (15-23).

Mon, September 7, 2009, 1 Samuel 14, - Jonathan smites the Philistines. (1-15) Their defeat. (16-23) Saul forbids the people to eat till evening. (24-35) Jonathan pointed out by lot. (36-46) Saul's family. (47-52).

The Feast

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our  Feast beginning in 1^{st Samuel - Chapter 10}, Did you notice that God had two reasons for appointing a King over the Israelites? “Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel; and he shall save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked on my people, because their cry is come to me." 1 Samuel 9:16. The truth is even though a king was a bad idea, God sent Saul because of their cries and to deliver them from the Philistines. If our Lord is willing I'll send and post the Feast tomorrow.

 

“This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”- Isaiah 48:17

The Feast

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast beginning in 1^st Samuel - Chapter 9, Do you think the people were doing the “right thing” asking God for a King? “Fed up, all the elders of Israel got together and confronted Samuel at Ramah. They presented their case: .Look, you're an old man, and your sons aren't following in your footsteps. Here's what we want you to do: Appoint a king to rule us, just like everybody else.'" 1 Samuel 8:4-5. The truth is we can see in retrospect that this was folly, a bad idea. They had God to guide and rule them, what more could they want. They wanted a worldly leader like the governments around them. We need to guard against prayer requests that would make us more worldly. If our Lord is willing I'll send and post the Feast tomorrow.

“The earth is filled with your love, O LORD; teach me your decrees.”- Psalm 119:64

This is the first day of the new month September 1, 2009. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” - Ecclesiastes 3:2 That's true of our Feast, walk with Jesus and all that God gives us, including the peace of the Holy Spirit. Share this grace whenever possible. Pray for one another, our Pastor's and keep your eyes on Jesus. If our Lord is willing I'll send and post the Feast tomorrow.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” - Proverbs 22:6
