The First Thing. John 1-3

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jhn 1-3
l The Feast l

Sep 7-9_2012 John 1-3

Dear Saints,

This weekend we prayerfully begin a Feast in John 1 - 3. This scripture opens wit a description of Jesus. It tells us who he is and what he does. “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5, English Standard Version (ESV). We find out why Jesus came, what his mission is and whom he represents. He is the light of the world, the Lamb of God. There is no sin in him. He himself was worthy the only one that could pay the price for all the sin of mankind. 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”” John 3:16-21 ESV. Because Jesus is the gift of God, the only begotten son of God, he alone is worthy. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, God.Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 ESV. This bears repeating;”Jesus died for us once to set us free from sin.” We have nothing with which we can earn or pay our way into the kingdom of God. “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” Colossians 1:28 ESV, John 14:23 ESV. This is the reason we continue to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. please write mlitew8@yahoo.com. An Overview of John;
The apostle and evangelist, John, seems to have been the youngest of the twelve. He was especially favoured with our Lord's regard and confidence, so as to be spoken of as the disciple whom Jesus loved. He was very sincerely attached to his Master. He exercised his ministry at Jerusalem with much success, and outlived the destruction of that city, agreeably to Christ's prediction, ch. 21:22 . History relates that after the death of Christ's mother, John resided chiefly at Ephesus. Towards the close of Domitian's reign he was banished to the isle of Patmos, where he wrote his Revelation. On the accession of Nerva, he was set at liberty, and returned to Ephesus, where it is thought he wrote his Gospel and Epistles, about A. D. 97, and died soon after. The design of this Gospel appears to be to convey to the Christian world, just notions of the real nature, office, and character of that Divine Teacher, who came to instruct and to redeem mankind. For this purpose, John was directed to select for his narrative, those passages of our Saviour's life, which most clearly displayed his Divine power and authority; and those of his discourses, in which he spake most plainly of his own nature, and of the power of his death, as an atonement for the sins of the world. By omitting, or only briefly mentioning, the events recorded by the other evangelists, John gave testimony that their narratives are true, and left room for the doctrinal statements already mentioned, and for particulars omitted in the other Gospels, many of which are exceedingly important.” Matthew Henry Concise

Pray before you Say! Judges 21

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jud 21
l The Feast l

Sep 6_2012 Judges 21

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Judges 20. Once again we see mans mouth putting him in direct trouble from the Lord. In their anger they swore not to give their daughters to the men of the tribe of Benjamin. Now that they have made peace with them they cannot give them wives. “16 Then the elders of the congregation said, “What shall we do for wives for those who are left, since the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?” 17 And they said, “There must be an inheritance for the survivors of Benjamin, that a tribe not be blotted out from Israel. 18 Yet we cannot give them wives from our daughters.” For the people of Israel had sworn, “Cursed be he who gives a wife to Benjamin.”” Judges 21:16-18, English Standard Version (ESV). Once again if they had consulted with God prior to taking an oath they may not be against the wall. I've heard men say;”God laughs at the plans of men.” I think God groans when men take an oath instead of consulting Him. 2 If a man vows a vow to the LORD, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.” Numbers 30:2 ESV. God puts great stock in the word of man. Remember God spoke heaven and earth into existence. He continues to tell us not to swear an oath even in the new testament. But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. ” James 5:12 ESV. Jesus died for us once to set us free from sin. God doesn't want us putting ourselves under condemnation. He wants us to continue free of sin and condemnation. Do we continue to appreciate and love Jesus? If the answer is yes take heed;“Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” John 14:23 ESV. Let's continue to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. please write mlitew8@yahoo.com. Who are God’s? Judges 20

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jud 20
l The Feast l

Sep 5_2012 Judges 20

Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully Feast in Judges 20. No matter what you enter into seek God's will first. We see that when the Israelites acted in haste they all payed a price. “19 Then the people of Israel rose in the morning and encamped against Gibeah. 20 And the men of Israel went out to fight against Benjamin, and the men of Israel drew up the battle line against them at Gibeah. 21 The people of Benjamin came out of Gibeah and destroyed on that day 22,000 men of the Israelites.” Judges 20:19-21, English Standard Version (ESV). I think that if they had consulted with God prior to declaring to getting even, then they would have had victory from he start. 27 And the people of Israel inquired of the Lord (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days, 28 and Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron, ministered before it in those days), saying, “Shall we go out once more to battle against our brothers, the people of Benjamin, or shall we cease?” And the Lord said, “Go up, for tomorrow I will give them into your hand.” Judges 20:27-28 ESV. God himself tells us that vengeance is his. He says if people will turn from their wicked ways and ask him he will heal their lands. “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ” 2 Chronicles 7:14. What about us, we call ourselves Christians, are we Gods people? Is there a way to tell the world we are God's people? “34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:34-35 (ESV). Saints if we truly love one another as Jesus loved us we will keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. please write mlitew8@yahoo.com. To correspond with a pastor email Pastor Glen; evangelistglen@yahoo.com. Where do you stand? Judges 18-19

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jud 18-19
l The Feast l

Sep 3-4_2012 Judges 18-19

Dear Saints,

Hi I didn't post the Feast yesterday because I was ill. So for yesterday and today we prayerfully Feast in Judges 18-19. In these two Feasts we see the folly of men who have no regard for God. They trust in gods made by their own hands. They stand in the way of sinners. “22 As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, “Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.”” Judges 19:22, English Standard Version (ESV). Notice that when we say; “They stand in the way of sinners.” we do not mean that they interfere with sinners. What we mean is they align their ways with sinful men. We are warned against these actions in God's Word. This is because God loves us and he wants the best for his people. 1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:1-3 ESV. God's Word tells us how we should live in order to prosper. God leaves us here to share His love with the world because, he is not willing that any should parish. “9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 ESV. Share the love of God with as many as we can. Try to keep the first thing first. That's salvation through the blood of Jesus. I am not an educated nor am I a theologian so if you want to see something changed in the Feast or you want something added or changed on the prayer list. http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. please write mlitew8@yahoo.com. To correspond with a pastor email Pastor Glen; evangelistglen@yahoo.com. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “…But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to change anything.

What’s Important? Judges 15-17

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jud 15-17
l The Feast l

Photo
Aug 31-Sep 2_2012 Judges 15-17

Dear Saints,

This weekend we prayerfully Feast in Judges 15 - 17. We see a practical application of holding people up to the Word of God. When Micah meets a young man, a Levite, he becomes his patron. “10 And Micah said to him, “Stay with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year and a suit of clothes and your living.” And the Levite went in. 11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man, and the young man became to him like one of his sons. 12 And Micah ordained the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah. 13 Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, because I have a Levite as priest.”” Judges 17:10-13, English Standard Version (ESV). We've said that we need to keep our eyes on God not on people. Micah is not a wise man, he is religious but his relationship with God is in bad shape. We know that because he makes Idols and worships strange gods. His delusions make him think that God is pleased with him and he thinks God sent the young Levite to him. The truth is the only way Micah could please God is to turn from his idolatry and stop worshiping false god. We all need to live our lives pleasing God. “9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,” Colossians 1:9-11 ESV. God's Word tells us how we should live. In His Word we find the things that are pleasing and important to God. “28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”” Mark 12:27-31 ESV. Try to love God and our fellow man while keeping the first thing first. That's salvation through the blood of Jesus. I am not an educated nor am I a theologian so if you want to see something changed in the Feast or you want something added or changed on the prayer list. http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. please write mlitew8@yahoo.com.
