Day 5- 40 days of Prayer, I Samuel 1

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 1
l The Feast l

Oct 2_2012 I Sam 1
National Days of Prayer Day 5 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel. As we read we see, the genealogy of Elkanah and his family. Hannah’s prayer for a son. The son Samuel is weaned, Hannah presents him to the Lord. “25 Then they slaughtered the bull, and they brought the child to Eli. 26 And she said, “Oh, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who was standing here in your presence, praying to the Lord. 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. 28 Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.”” I Samuel 1:25-28, English Standard Version (ESV). When we earnestly ask God for anything in his will and he gives it to us, remember to fulfill your vows.
40 Days of Prayer # 5 Prayer Devotional By Pastor Glen Aycock

“Day 5- 40 days of Prayer Devotional
By Pastor Glen Aycock
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.”Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, 14  I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”
Today’s devotional thought focuses on His promise for a nation if it returns to following God in a serious way. This is what these crucial days of prayer as a nation of God believers are all about. God is into restoration and promises to do that if we ask and our actions line up to testify of our hearts validity. Look at the content of this promise:
  • God has plans to take care of you.
  • God will not abandon you.
  • God has plans for your future
  • God has promised that when we pray He will listen.
  • God has promised that when we come looking for Him, we will find him.
  • God demands we want it more than anything else, we will not be disappointed.
We have the word of God and the conditions for our prayers to be answered. We need leaders in our government that will return to the Godly principles that are at the roots of the birth of our nation. There is another scripture that says “blessed in the nation whose God is the Lord”.
Pray for the upcoming election and vote not by political loyalty but by God inspired loyalty and faith, and prayer. Serving and living for God is never outdated. Let reclaim our national loyalty to God. Pray, seek. Look and listen to God.
Prayer Thought:
Dear Jesus:
As believers and followers of Christ we pray and claim your promises to take care of us. In return for this mercy we promise to live for you and depend on you. We accept your plans for our future. We look forward to a revival that will move through our nation evidenced by a return to principles of a Godly nation. We thank you in advance and desire this restoration with all our heart. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Day 5 already? Time goes fast when we pray for our God’s will to be done. Dare to keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.” Proverbs 29:25 ESV. Continue to join us in sharing His love. You’ll find the request for prayer athttp://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. The Feast

Tue, October 2, 2012, I Samuel, – “Elkanah and his family. (1-8) Hannah’s prayer. (9-18) Samuel, Hannah presents him to the Lord. (19-28)” – Matthew Henry Concise

1 Samuel an Overview;
In this book we have an account of Eli, and the wickedness of his sons; also of Samuel, his character and actions. Then of the advancement of Saul to be the king of Israel, and his ill behaviour, until his death made way for David’s succession to the throne, who was an eminent type of Christ. David’s patience, modesty, constancy, persecution by open enemies and feigned friends, are a pattern and example to the church, and to every member of it. Many things in this book encourage the faith, hope, and patience of the suffering believer. It contains also many useful cautions and awful warnings.” – Matthew Henry Concise

God Bless you,
Brother Mike

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12 ESV

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Ruth 3
l The Feast l

Sep 30_2012 Ruth 3
National Days of Prayer Day 3 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of Ruth 3. As we open the third chapter in Ruth we see, The directions given to Ruth by Naomi. Boaz acknowledges the duty of a kinsman and redeemer. Ruth's return to her mother-in-law. Here Naomi exposes an example of the value of waiting on the Lord. “16 And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, “How did you fare, my daughter?” Then she told her all that the man had done for her, 17 saying, “These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said to me, ‘You must not go back empty-handed to your mother-in-law.’” 18 She replied, “Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today.”” Ruth 3:16-18, English Standard Version (ESV). If we are faithful to wait on the Lord he will lead us in his ways.

40 Days of Prayer # 3 Devotional “Prayer for america” Here is the message as it was Adapted from Desperate for Change: 40 Days of Prayer for America by David Butts
“40 Days of Prayer # 3 Prayer for America

This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.’” –Zechariah 7:9

As a schoolboy in the late 1950s and early 1960s, I remember starting every school day by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The constant repetition allows the words of the Pledge to be recalled effortlessly today, half a century later.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”Have you considered the fact that a nation committed to justice for all is a nation that God can bless? God is passionate about justice because it is in accordance with His nature to be just in all His dealings. When nations base their laws and institutions on principles of justice for all, the God of justice is pleased.

Of course, this means that the contrary is true as well. When injustice creeps in, it brings with it the displeasure of God. God especially seems to look out for the welfare of those whom society overlooks. . . the poor, the less-privileged, the stranger, and the outcast. The nation that wants the blessing of God will ensure justice for all!
Prayer Points

Thank the Lord that He is a God of justice and shows no favoritism.
Thank God for a nation that proclaims itself a land of justice for all.
Pray for our judicial system and lawmakers, that justice for all, tempered by mercy and compassion, will guide our nation.

My Prayer

I thank You, Lord, that You are perfectly just in all Your ways. You deal with us impartially, imparting justice while showing mercy and compassion. Help us to be like You in this way.

I’m grateful, Lord, that the United States has built justice into its very foundation. Forgive us when we have failed to carry out what we say we believe in. Help us as a nation to offer justice to all and not to discriminate in the way that justice is administered. I pray for the judicial system of this nation. Restore godliness to the courts of our land. May those who make our laws do so with a deep commitment to justice for all. In the name of Jesus, we come against any spirit of privilege or special interests that would mar the true administration of justice. We cry out with the prophet Amos, “Let justice roll on like a river” (Amos 5:24). May a river of justice and righteousness sweep across our nation!

For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”” John 3:20-21 ESV.
