National Days of Prayer Day 28 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 24. Today we read in 1stSamuel, David is given the opportunity to kill King Saul, in regard to God’s anointed he spares Saul’s life. David cut’s off the corner of Saul’s robe, thus he shows his innocence. Convicted of the evil of his heart, Saul acknowledges his fault. “17 Then he said to David: “You are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil. 18 And you have shown this day how you have dealt well with me; for when the Lord delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me. 19 For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him get away safely? Therefore may the Lord reward you with good for what you have done to me this day. 20 And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand. 21 Therefore swear now to me by the Lord that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not destroy my name from my father’s house.”” I Samuel 24:17-21` New King James Version (NKJV). God will still honor your faith and reverence for the powers appointed over you.

SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 28:19-20
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18-20
The Great Commission or the Great Omission?
Are you concerned about the state of our great country? Does it trouble you greatly that the United States of America, the great world power for the last 250 years, is hitting rock bottom spiritually and financially? Are you worried about your children and grandchildren being taught that the founders of America were not Christian and probably anti-Biblical. Are you concerned that schools teach an anti-Biblical history and science agenda? Are you angry that the leaders of the country are trying to get God out of everything? I am, too, and I’m angry about it. But let’s see! Did you and I sit back and let this happen? I would say yes. In our life of richness and luxury, we Americans have become apathetic and desensitized to the agenda of the left wing liberals who think everything is okay except Godly principles. We have lost our Biblical commission. We are afraid to tell others, sometimes even our family members, the truth about Jesus Christ and His freedom. He came to set us free whereas the new age agenda wants to bind us up so we are without recourse. Are you angry enough to do something about this? Here’s what you can do. First, pray! Pray for yourself, your family, community, and country. Second, read the Word. Learn who God is and what he desires for you. Give out Bibles, support Christian groups that spread the Word of God. And third, do something! Tell everyone about Jesus and what He means to you! Start or join a Bible study group. Work at a homeless shelter, help at and abused child or woman’s shelter, or adult literacy center. Be a mentor to a child or adult. Go anywhere or do anything so that you can get His name back into mainstream America. Ask the Lord for direction for where He can use you most effectively. One by one and little by little each of us can be a part of something BIG for God. We all can become part of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and not part of the great omission of Jesus Christ
PRAYER: Lord, show me what I can do for you. Show me someone today who needs to hear what I know about you! Give me the courage to proclaim your name to everyone in my realm of influence. Help me to make a difference in this country by spreading your Word. Increase your kingdom through me! Make me willing and able to do your will. Devotional and prayer by Kathie Hufstedler of Kerrville, Texas

National Days of Prayer Day 27 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 22. Today we read in 1st Samuel, The Lord tells David to rescues Keilah from the Philistines. God warns David to escape from Keilah. Jonathan Saul’s son comforts David. God rescued David and his men from Saul using an invasion of the Philistines. “27 But a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come, for the Philistines have invaded the land!” 28 Therefore Saul returned from pursuing David, and went against the Philistines; so they called that place the Rock of Escape. 29 Then David went up from there and dwelt in strongholds at En Gedi.” I Samuel 23:27-29` New King James Version (NKJV). God is still honoring David’s faith and reverence for king Saul.

40 Days of Prayer day 27, Prayer for our nation authored by, - Pastor Glen Aycock

40 Days of Prayer- Devotional 27
SCRIPTURE: Mathew 5:13-16.
13 ¶ “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.
15 If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand.
16 Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

WORTH YOUR SALT?
Why are we here at this time of chaos in the world? If each of us realized we are here by the will of God for a specific purpose, it would change our world view. Notice we are to salt to our children, nation, and world. What is the function of salt? One of the functions of salt is to preserve. We are to preserve the faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The belief that He is the foundation of life is basic in developing a great nation that is blessed by God. Another purpose of salt is to “season” life. Seasoning enhances taste and also does the same to our nation. God has given us the prescription to be a nation that is great and prosperous. In verses 14 through 16 it states that ought to be “God Colors” to the rest of the world. We must be public in our testimony for God. In fact we are reminded that God has put us on a hilltop as a light to the nations of the world. This election will require voting for the leaders that reflect Christ as the way. Pray for discretion in choosing your vote for the candidate to head our Nation.

PRAYER: God help us to discern who will lead us validate our reputation as a “nation under God.” Make us as individuals to be light reflectors of the “Light of the world”.

Your faith in God, will allow our Lord to work in your life. Let’s continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. ““The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 NKJV. Wait on the Lord our God.
