National Days of Prayer Day 30 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 26. Today we read in 1stSamuel, Saul continues to go after David to kill him. David out of respect to God’s anointed again spares Saul’s life. David seeking peace exhorts Saul. Saul acknowledges his sin, however he shows no sign of true repentance. “22 And David answered and said, “Here is the king’s spear. Let one of the young men come over and get it. 23 May the Lord repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. 24 And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the Lord, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation.”” I Samuel 26:22-24 New King James Version (NKJV). God never fails to forgive and restore those who turn to him in true repentance. Our God is awesome!

SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 12:1b-3; I Corinthians 9:24; Psalm 27: 13-14
"…Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls." Hebrews 12:1b – 3

"…So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours." 1 Corinthians 9:24b
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!" Psalm 27:13-14.

Devotional
Election Day on November 6, 2012 is not the finish line.
(devotional shared by Jennifer of Kerrville Baptist Church)

Election Day on November 6, 2012 is not the finish line.
As a kid in grade school, we had track meets in gym class. We were taught to "run through the tape" at the finish line. We were told "do not slow down" as we approached the finish line, but to keep running because the race was not yet won. I remembered this as a life-lesson because I was certainly not a star athlete, to say the least. I think of this every single time I read this passage in the Bible.

I believe that our Lord wants us to remember it this way: Let go of anything that hinders your progress, especially sin. Don’t slow down. Don’t pay attention to the other runners in the race. Don’t grow weary or be discouraged. Keep your eyes fixed on the Prize….. Jesus our Beautiful Saviour!

Lord please bless our nations, our governments, our church leaders, and our populace with the truth and the faith and the power to serve and love you. Thank you Jesus for honoring our prayers and keeping all those that the Father has given you. The Lord Jesus blesses us, bind the evil one from our lives and let us live to serve you in everything we say and do. Hallelujah AMEN!” http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html.

Share Jesus with all who will listen, God will judge their hearts. Please keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV.

National Days of Prayer Day 29 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 25. Today we read in 1st Samuel, Death of Samuel. King David’s request for the feast for his men. Nabal selfishly refuses to feed David’s men. David’s intention was to destroy Nabal and all his men. Abigail prepares a feast and takes it to David and his men. David is reconsiders killing Nabal. God avenges David and Nabal dies. David being impressed by Abigail’s generous acts takes the widowed Abigail as his wife. “42 So Abigail rose in haste and rode on a donkey, attended by five of her maidens; and she followed the messengers of David, and became his wife.” I Samuel 25:42 New King James Version (NKJV). God promotes his children and puts the evil persons down. Truly vengeance is God’s!

Scripture: Isa 12:4 And as you do it, you’ll say, “Give thanks to GOD. Call out his name. Ask him anything! Shout to the nations, tell them what he’s done, spread the news of his great reputation!

Three Things We Can Do!!!
Often as a pastor I have heard the lament, “There’s nothing I can do, and I am only one person. I don’t have training and I haven’t any Bible degrees. I am a nobody; no one would listen to me.” My assignment by God was to share three things that every person can do. Each of us has opportunity to make an impact on our homes, communities, and nation!

The exciting news is that you can start today and join God’s team. The prayer, “Here I am Lord, use me today”, is the way to sign up for service.
Here is the list of three things we can do, starting this day.

  1. Give thanks to the Lord. I have a granddaughter in Nebraska the is 19 years old and dying of brain cancer which is in the 4th stage. Bless her soul; she is giving thanks to the Lord for his accompaniment.
  2. Call on His name. Ask Him anything!!!
The prayer of a faithful man, accomplish much.
  3. Shout to the nation, (broadcast, spread the word) and tell them what God has done. This is the Good News that God delivers us and answers prayer.
Prayer: Dear Jesus give thanks and call on your name help us to share the Good News today. Amen”

Please continue to share the good news of our Lord Jesus with the world. Let’s continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV. “And He sent Jesus our Lord and Saviour and blessed us. Jesus took upon His self your sins. We are to serve Him and His people by spreading the word of God so they can know His blessings to and be saved. Praise God for His Love. The Holy Spirit is with you and will tell you what to say when the time comes.” Robert Waters, THE HOLY SPIRIT IS CALLING 10/26/12 # 381
