National Days of Prayer Day 37 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of 2 Samuel 2. David and all his family go to Hebron where David is made king. The commander of Saul’s Army, Abner makes Ishbosheth king! Battle such as a revolution, breaks out between Abner’s men and those of Joab. Asahel is pierced  through the stomach with the butt of his spear by Abner is slain. Both parties retreat. (18-24). If Men would consider the result of their actions before they act they might avoid sin. Excluding God from government or any area of our life will cause bitterness in the end! Asahel’s funeral is here mentioned. “32And they took up Asahel and buried him in the tomb of his father, which was at Bethlehem. And Joab and his men marched all night, and the day broke upon them at Hebron.” 2 Samuel 2
English Standard Version (ESV). Saints, let us continue together praising, praying and feasting on every word in God’s Holy Word everyday, until the great and glorious day when Jesus comes again.

40 Days of Prayer day 37, Prayer for our nation by, - Pastor Glen Aycock

40 Days of Prayer- Day 37 (by Stephanie Aycock)
Today’s Devotional was shared by Stephanie Aycock:
For several years I have been wondering why Christians have tolerated this movement to take God out of everything. I thought “there must be enough Christians who, if they united in opposition to such things, could put us back on the pathway to being “One nation under God.” There are so many denominations and even versions within denominations of churches, they seem so separate. And then someone so wisely proposed 40 Days of Prayer leading up to this very important Presidential Election. Praise God, we have been united in prayer.
This 40 Days of Prayer and the incredibly brave sermons from our pastor, ministers and clergy have caused many us to unite behind a movement to just say NO:
  • NO to attempts to make our United States of America a non-Christian nation.
  • NO to obliterating the seeds of life that the Lord has planted.
  • NO to same sex relationships and marriages.
  • NO to making public prayer illegal.
  • NO to our nation’s failure to support and protect God’s precious Israel.
  • NO to exploiting the poor with legalized gambling.
  • NO to a President who is most likely neither a Christian nor a citizen.
  • NO to calling evil good.
In the past 30 something days, I have heard friends and relatives speaking their minds about many of the ungodly things we have all tolerated as “political correctness”. I have heard many regular folks, and famous people speak publicly about their Christian beliefs. Many of these people had never uttered such things out loud in the entire time I have known them. These 40 days of prayer have caused many of us to be more willing to unite in prayer for our nation. It has encouraged us to talk with others about our concerns for where our country is headed, and to praise God out loud for the strength, joy and love he has given each of us throughout our lives.
My prayer:
Heavenly Father, I accept that only Your Holy Will shall determine the outcome of this election. I know that you love us and I trust that you have a plan for us. And I am encouraged that so many of us have experienced the power of praying together. Even if the election doesn’t turn out the way I voted, I will know that the outcome is part of your plan. Maybe Lord, You just want to see how long and how much we will tolerate. I pray, Father, that you will give us the wisdom to make choices and have expectations which are always consistent with your Holy Word, and the courage to speak with others about those things. Show me, Father, those opportunities to unite Christians to use our voices to praise your name and live by your Word. God Bless Our United States of America, still One Nation Under God.

Keep praying each day.
God Bless our great country
Each of us needed Jesus to make our lives, whole and sin free! Let’s keep God in charge of every area of our lives. Please keep the first thing first that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. “[Submission to the Authorities] Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans 13:1 ESV.

National Days of Prayer Day 36 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of 2 Samuel 1. Today not only do we start 2nd Samuel, we also are on our 8th Anniversary of The Feast. The Feast started and still is an easy prayerful read through God's Word. As you know I do not accept monetary donations, God continues to provide. I thank Jesus and you the Saints for sharing this ministry with me. I still accept prayer as well as maintain a prayer list for your praise and prayer requests.

2nd Samuel An Overview;
This book is the history of the reign of king David. It relates his victories, the growth of the prosperity of Israel, and his reformation of the state of religion. With these events are recorded the grievous sins he committed, and the family as well as public troubles with which he was punished. We here meet with many things worthy of imitation, and many that are written for our warning. The history of king David is given in Scripture with much faithfulness, and from it he appears, to those who fairly balance his many virtues and excellent qualities against his faults, to have been a great and good man.” Matthew Henry Commentary on the Whole Bible (Concise). Lord willing we will continue
together feasting on every word in God's Holy Word, until Jesus comes again.

40 DAYS OF PRAYER- DAY 36

SCRIPTURE: 2 CHRONICLES 15:1-7

Then Azariah son of Obed, moved by the Spirit of God,
2 went out to meet Asa. He said, "Listen carefully, Asa, and listen Judah and Benjamin: GOD will stick with you as long as you stick with him. If you look for him he will let himself be found; but if you leave him he’ll leave you.
3 For a long time Israel didn’t have the real God, nor did they have the help of priest or teacher or book.
4 But when they were in trouble and got serious, and decided to seek GOD, the God of Israel, GOD let himself be found.
5 At that time it was a dog-eat-dog world; life was constantly up for grabs—no one, regardless of country, knew what the next day might bring.
6 Nation battered nation, city pummeled city. God let loose every kind of trouble among them.
7 “But it’s different with you: Be strong. Take heart. Payday is coming!"

DEVOTIONAL CHALLENGE:
Today we are given a portrait of our nation in 2012. We desperately need revival in our nation and world. Great revivals have often begun in times of spiritual and moral darkness. Conditions of gross darkness prevailed before revivals under such leaders as Asa (2 chronicles 15:1-15), Joash (2 Kings 11, 12), Hezekiah (2 chronicles 29-13), Josiah (2 Kings 22, 23), Zurubbabel (Ezra5, 6), (Nehemiah 8:9; 12:44-47). Notice the people were quality of idolatry, neglect of and in some cases contempt for the house of God, unjust and sometimes cruel treatment to fellow Israelites, entangling alliances and associations with heathen nations, and the practice of spiritualism and forms of occult. Against this backdrop of ungodliness there existed those who were earnestly looking to the Lord for intervention. Notice that these people were never disappointed. God came to the rescue when his people seek Him with the whole heart. I love verse seven when it reminds us “But it’s different with you: Be strong, Take Heart. PAYDAY IS COMING!””

Prayer Request (1st published 10-5-2012)

“I have a prayer request. There's a lady I've known forever. She's very sick. On top of that, she's being abused by those to whom she has given everything..... Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there's nothing I can do alone but maybe, if we join in and lift her up together, we can heal her. She's well over 230 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is 'America'... And I love her and have always been proud of her. Please take time to say a prayer for her - even if it is a short, simple prayer like, "Lord, please heal our land. Amen." Thanks! [Prayer from the internet-Sept 2012]

Always remember you were called by the Holy Spirit, a gift from God, Jesus paid the full price to redeem you. You are chosen by God, to live a purpose filled life, in our godly nation. No matter who leads our nation we follow the Lord. We continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 30. Today as we read in 1st Samuel, Saul’s defeat and self destruction. We cannot make spiritual decisions about Saul’s choice. His just as our salvation is between him and God. Saul’s body and those of his sons were retrieved by the men of Jabesh-gilead. They burned their bodies and buried their bones. Then they fasted because they honored God’s chosen leader. “11 Now when the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead heard what the Philistines had done to Saul, 12 all the valiant men arose and traveled all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth Shan; and they came to Jabesh and burned them there. 13 Then they took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.” I Samuel 31:11-13 New King James Version (NKJV). When a man accepts the Lord and turns his life over to Jesus, he begins a unique fellowship with God. You may know him by his fruit but not by the relationship God has forged with him.

40 DAYS OF PRAYER- DEVOTIONAL 35
SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 46:9-10.
I am God and there is no other,
I am God and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning,
From ancient times, what is still to come.
I say "My purpose will stand, and I will do as I please."
The news over the last few days has captured much of the devastation and destruction left in the path of hurricane Sandy. I have seen and heard reports of fires, floods, untold wind damage, injury and death. At the individual level I realize that in a matter of hours, thousands of lives have been dramatically changed.
What about the impact at a national level? My mind has conjured up multiple ways this could impact the Presidential election next week…none of which are positive. I thought, Why Lord? Why NOW Lord?
Rather than dwelling on the possible negative impact on the election, I choose to remind myself of this truth from Isaiah 46:9-10.
I do not know the answer to "Why?" But I do know the One who does.
Creator God, Mighty God, Sovereign God, I will trust in You. You are my God.
Our lives and times, this election and this nation and it’s future, are in Your hands.
Provide for and comfort the thousands whose lives have been altered by Sandy; especially the poor, the children and the elderly. May Your perfect will be done.
PRAYER: Help us to trust you and your perfect will. Amen
When you think a believer is going off the right track with God, pray for him. We are not to rebuke or objurgate or be chin-wagging against them. See; 1 Thessalonians 4:6, Matthew 18:2, Deuteronomy 19:15. We do well to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” Ephesians 1:18 NKJV .

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” 1 Peter 5:8-9 NKJV.
