Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of 2 Samuel 15. Absalom’s ambition seems to be judge over Israel at first. His ambition soon turns into a conspiracy to become king. King David leaves Jerusalem, rather that to fight his son. Out of reverence to God David sends back the ark. He prays against Ahithophel’s counsel. 32 While David was coming to the summit, where God was worshiped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat torn and dirt on his head. 33 David said to him, “If you go on with me, you will be a burden to me. 34 But if you return to the city and say to Absalom, ‘I will be your servant, O king; as I have been your father’s servant in time past, so now I will be your servant,’ then you will defeat for me the counsel of Ahithophel. 35 Are not Zadok and Abiathar the priests with you there? So whatever you hear from the king’s house, tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. 36 Behold, their two sons are with them there, Ahimaaz, Zadok’s son, and Jonathan, Abiathar’s son, and by them you shall send to me everything you hear.” 37 So Hushai, David’s friend, came into the city, just as Absalom was entering Jerusalem.” 2 Samuel 15:32-37, English Standard Version (ESV). David was lax in the case of son Absalom. Like David, if we fail to do to discipline our children we are sinning against God.
Thanksgiving devotional series by Pastor, Glen Aycock;

WHEN IS THANKSGIVING?
SCRIPTURE: Ps 50:14 Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High.
Ps 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
Ps 95:2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
Ps 100:1 «A Psalm of Thanksgiving. » Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
DEVOTIONAL: Now is the time to give thanks to the Lord. The Bible tells us to lift up our head and shout thanks to the Lord. Why? I challenge you to get a sheet of paper and write as a heading; “A list of what I am thankful for”. Then list them. I have submitted an example below:
WHAT I AM THANKFUL FOR
1. Redemption!!! Christ has paid the price for our sins which separated us from God.
2. Christian parents who taught me about the Bible and how to pray.
3. Living in a land where there is freedom to worship the Lord openly.
4. The immeasurable benefits of Grace.
5. To be alive. A year ago I was told by my doctor that my time was short and to get things in order.
6. A wonderful wife that has filled my life with joy and companionship.
7. Wonderful children that love me.
8. I am so excited to live on a ranch in Texas. I am a country boy!!!
9. I have been blessed to pastor and preach for 50 years plus and see lives changed for Christ.
10. I am excited about what is in front of me and I know that what is ahead is greater than what is behind.
11. I am headed for a reunion with loved ones and friends and my precious Jesus.
12. I am grateful for the media of the internet to share Christ to the world from my home computer.
This list is submitted by Pastor Glen Aycock.
PRAYER THOUGHT
Dear Jesus, help me to begin to give thanks daily for your love and plans for my life. Amen!”

We can’t allow sin to separate us from Jesus. We need to keep the first thing first ,that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” Psalm 119:18 ESV. Allow God to be your guide in this life, make all of your relationships count.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of 2 Samuel 13. Joab had a wise widow act as a mourner to procure Absalom’s king David’s son to return to Jerusalem. Absalom recalled is by his father but not allowed to be in David’s house. Absalom was a very handsome man and therefor his daughter Tamar was a beautiful woman. Absalom used treachery against Joab (he burned his crops) in order to gain admittance to his father’s presence. 32 Absalom answered Joab, “Behold, I sent word to you, ‘Come here, that I may send you to the king, to ask, “Why have I come from Geshur? It would be better for me to be there still.” Now therefore let me go into the presence of the king, and if there is guilt in me, let him put me to death.’” 33 Then Joab went to the king and told him, and he summoned Absalom. So he came to the king and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king, and the king kissed Absalom” 2 Samuel 14:32-33, English Standard Version (ESV). While Christ paid the price for our sin, never forget the high price he paid. If you sin on purpose or accident, turn from sin and ask God forgiveness, he will restore you to your loved ones just as he did Absalom.

While sin separates us from God remember it also ruins any personal relationships with friends and family. We should endeavor to keep the first thing first ,that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. “Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight.” Psalm 119:143 ESV. While sin can be the ruin of our lives, God can and will restore order and love. Through Jesus on his terms because there is no other name by which we can be saved.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,” 1 Peter 3:18 ESV.
