Fleecing the flock?  – 1 Chronicles 23    March 5, 2013 - 1 Chronicles 23 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 23.  King David prepares the people to manage in in the temple service.  “32 Thus they were to keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and to attend the sons of Aaron, their brothers, for the service of the house of the Lord.” 1 Chronicles 23:32, English Standard Version (ESV).  God gave David the Job of management for the temple service.  God supplied the manpower for the temple service.  Whenever God requires something he provides the means.  “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 ESV.  When the Lord calls on you to do anything be like David, don’t get upset do everything in order.  Look to God for the means he will supply you with material things needed to do God’s will.  Wait on the Lord, God will provide.  Don’t fleece the flock; God doesn’t need your money or means.  “So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”” Genesis 22:14 ESV.  Orderly planning and preparation is a must, faith in God is imperative.  Besides that with everything we’ve been reading have you noticed when people endeavor to “help God” it is a mistake.  Remember Abraham, Sarah and Hagar?  The Feast Tue, March 5, 2013, 1 Chronicles 23, - “David declares Solomon his successor. (24-32)” – Matthew Henry Concise How important is it to pray together?  Please Join us at: http://www.admenu.com/prayer.htm, as we continue to pray for the needs of ours and others.   PLEASE PRAY. Hi Family,     I wanted to let you all know that Meg's seems to be having more symptoms the past few days.....her mind was a little off yesterday and  last night her hand went numb.....she has been sleeping until noon almost daily due to tiredness and it has become clear that her headaches are much more frequent. She just restarted avastin last Friday and maybe it will slow things down...we can only pray. I guess I just wanted to update you on how she is doing in case her symptoms become more alarming anytime soon. I did not want you to feel blind sided. I am praying that maybe it was just one bad day with many more good days to come. We have been very blessed this winter to have 95 % good days.... I know it is Meg's prayer to make it through this summer without complication. Maybe we could all pray that together. I love you guys so much and It helps me to know how much you love and support us which you have all made soooo abundantly clear. I had a dream early this am and you were all in it........It was one of God's great reminders that your are all with us in spirit here as Meg's goes through this. Its race day!  – 1 Chronicles 22    March 4, 2013 - 1 Chronicles 22 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 22.  In today’s Feast, David is told that his son Solomon will build God’s home.  King David gives his son instructions for building the Temple of God.  “18 “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not given you peace on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and his people. 19 Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God may be brought into a house built for the name of the Lord.”” 1 Chronicles 22:18-19, English Standard Version (ESV).  God is building a new church and each of us is the craftsmen of God’s new Church.  Jesus laid the foundation of God’s new temple on the cross.  We are instructed to continue the building of the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells.  “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ESV” Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV.  As believers we are responsible for gathering material and building this church.  Jesus gave us the great commission in Matthew 28:18-20.  Don’t be put off rather be courageous for the Lord our God is with us.  Keep praying and reading God’s Word every day because this is how faith is built (see Romans 10:16-18).  “1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV.  Remember today is the “Day of Salvation”, its race day! Looking for an excuse?  – 1 Chronicles 21        March 3, 2013 - 1 Chronicles 21 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 21.  In today’s Feast we see David influenced by Satan, take a census.  God gives King David three choices for the payment price of this sin. David chooses God to extract the price of his sin.  “28 At that time, when David saw that the Lord had answered him at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he sacrificed there. 29 For the tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses had made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering were at that time in the high place at Gibeon, 30 but David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the Lord.” 1 Chronicles 21:28-30, English Standard Version (ESV).  Even after God extracted the price of this sin, David was afraid to go past the angel.  Why do you think this is?   I believe it was because David didn’t know the mind of God.  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV.  This is the reason many people are afraid of Jesus.  They don’t understand who he is let alone why the price of sin requires payment.  I’ve heard many people saved and otherwise claim that; “Satan made me do it!”  The fact that Satan is there constantly insinuating that sin is beautiful, funny or cute does not excuse sin.  Nor does it excuse the price for sin.  Sin may look great at first but I can assure you it is spiritual cancer.  We have two choices either we die in sin or we accept God’s gift of salvation!  The price that Jesus paid is payment in full.  If you haven’t accepted Jesus I suggest you ask God (pray) how to do it.  If you have accepted Jesus you need to be there to interpret a sinner’s cry for salvation.  Let your light shine and you will never be looking for an excuse.  In the process of letting your light shine you may be responsible for another saved soul. What are the odds?  – 1 Chronicles 20        March 2, 2013 - 1 Chronicles 20 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 20.  Once again we see King David leader of God’s people blessed by God whenever they went into war.  The armies they fight against outnumber and outsize them, again God gives them the victory. “6 And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. 7 And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, struck him down. 8 These were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.” 1 Chronicles 20:6-8, English Standard Version (ESV).  Our God is the awesome God!  As we faithfully serve Him God will overcome the odds every time.  “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.” Job 23:10-11 ESV.  If we stray from God he will still punish us.  But against all odds we will have victory in Jesus! Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings 10 so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: 11 bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God. DEVOTIONAL         “TOUGH LOVE” Many are familiar with the term ‘tough love’ and this devotional attempts to give a new meaning to the usual application. Paul was writing to the Christians in Corinth. “Corinth was known as an especially "wild” city and had a reputation for licentiousness. Paul was faced with a city that was used to coin one of the Greek words for "fornicate”, which was korinthiazomai! Notice Jesus deserves all our love! We sing the hymn entitled, “My Jesus I love thee”, and the hymn presents the question, “Do I love my Jesus as much as he loves me”? Take time and think on this today. Commit to Lord you will love him more today. . 3. Let your love be sincere, intelligent, circumspect, and exemplary of a life that pleases Jesus. Do others see God in my life? 4. We are to be bountiful in fruits of the Spirit. (Definition of bountiful= Bountiful means plentiful, abundant or in large quantities. (adjective). When your harvest produces twice as much as it did last year,) 5. Enlisting others to be involved with the Glory and praises of God. Enlist in God’s army!  – 1 Chronicles 19          Feb 28, 2013 - 1 Chronicles 19 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 19.   King David was blessed by God whenever he went into war.  Again King David consulted God before he did anything.  David trusted God, he had faith that God was true to his word.  David fought in agreement with God; “18 And the Syrians fled before Israel, and David killed of the Syrians the men of 7,000 chariots and 40,000 foot soldiers, and put to death also Shophach the commander of their army. 19 And when the servants of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Syrians were not willing to save the Ammonites anymore.” 1 Chronicles 19:18-19, English Standard Version (ESV).  God never changes!  Our relationship with Jesus includes serving in God’s Holy army.  Keep this in mind; “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 ESV.  When we enlist in God’s army we join in a heavenly war against God’s enemy.  Accept Jesus and turn from sin you will be sealed by the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit gives us a peace that surpasses worldly understanding. “Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:25-26 ESV.
