Share His Love? August 21, 2013 – Psalms 13-14 Today’s Feast Psalms 13-14 Chapter 13 - “The psalmist complains that God had long withdrawn. He earnestly prays for comfort. He assures himself of an answer of peace.”   Chapter 14 – “  A description of the depravity of human nature, and the deplorable corruption of a great part of mankind.”  - Matthew Henry Concise   Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 13-14.  Like the Psalmist there are times we feel alone, however in the end we trust in Jesus. “ 5 But I have trusted in your steadfast love;     my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. 6 I will sing to the Lord,     because he has dealt bountifully with me.- Psalms 12:7-8 “ - English Standard Version (ESV).   We learn throughout the word of God he loves and looks out for the believer.   We cannot do less than to share our hope with those in need. “When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”  Psalm 94:18-19 ESV. Our friend Jesus is calling out to us! (see John 15:13-15), listen can you hear him?  He won’t call forever, now is the time to answer his call. In Whom We Trust? August 21, 2013 – Psalms 11-12 Today’s Feast Psalms 11-12 Chapter 11 – “David’s struggle with, and triumph over a strong temptation to distrust God, and betake himself to indirect means for his own safety, in a time of danger”   Chapter 12 – “ The psalmist begs help of God, because there were none among men whom he durst trust.”  - Matthew Henry Concise   Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 11-12.  There are times that we like David are tempted to take things into our own hands. That is what we see David doing here in chapter 11.  In chapter 12 we see him come to the conclusion that only God can be trusted always. “ 7 You, O Lord, will keep them;     you will guard us from this generation forever. 8 On every side the wicked prowl,     as vileness is exalted among the children of man. - Psalms 12:7-8English Standard Version (ESV).   David learned to trust in the Lord by (see 1 Samuel 17:34-37) experience.  As we follow Jesus our experience will tell us to trust the Holy Spirit (see John 14:26) to bring God’s Word to our remembrance.  “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32ESV.
