Deliver Me, O Lord, from Evil!

(7-16) The psalmist's hatred to sin, and desire to be led aright. (17-24)” - Matthew Henry Concise Psalms 140  “David encourages himself in God. (1-7) He prays for, and prophesies the destruction of, his persecutors. (8-13)” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu - Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Psalms 139 and 140.  In Psalms 139 The Psalmist reminds us that our God is omnipresent and omnipresent.  Sin is like cancer. There is nothing about us that can be hidden from God.  “23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!     Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,     and lead me in the way everlasting!”   Psalms 139:23-24  - English Standard Version (ESV).  While we are in the world we are not of the world.  God wants us to discern the character of others, By doing so we will keep separate from fellowship with those who celebrate in sin (see 2 Corinthians 6:14).  In Psalms 140  David is giving thanks to God; If God is for us, who will stand against us?  He is praying for the victory over his enemies.  “12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted,     and will execute justice for the needy. 13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name;     the upright shall dwell in your presence.”   Psalm 140:12-13  - ESV.  Turn to God in Jesus name whenever you think you have a need (See 2 Chronicles 7:14).  Pray for discernment when you are interacting with the word.  “6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6.  When you are not sure which way to turn ask Jesus!  Stay on that narrow path. Thank God In all things we trust Jesus! Hallelujah! Listen! How Do We Worship Jesus?

(6-8)” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu - Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Psalms 137-138.  In Psalms 137 The Psalmist disdains the captivity of the Israelites and the fact that their captors are mocking by making them sing songs.  Being captives they are asking God to let the Edomites enemies succeed against them.  “8 O daughter of Babylon, doomed to be destroyed, blessed shall he be who repays you with what you have done to us! 9 Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!”   Psalms 137:8-9  - English Standard Version (ESV).  While suffering, we should recall with repentance and sorrow our lost blessings.  Without complaint own up to and repent for our current sinful state asking Jesus to forgive us (see 1 John 1:9).  In Psalms 138 The psalmist is giving thanks to the God of Israel. Reminding us the different way God deals with the proud vs. the humble.  “7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. 8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”   Psalm 138:7-8  - ESV.  Whenever we don’t like the way anything in life is turning, it is not the time to complain.  It is time to humbly turn to God in Jesus name and ask him to alter the circumstances (See 2 Chronicles 7:14).  “25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Will God’s Love Stand Forever?

(23-26)” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu - Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Psalms 136.  In Psalms 136 The Holy Spirit knows that people learn by repetition.   That’s why the Psalmist says everything that was made (see John 1-1) by God who’s “love endures forever” is mentioned twenty-six (26) times in this one Psalm alone.  “26 Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.”   Psalm 136:26  - English Standard Version (ESV).  Salvation through Jesus is proof that all good things are made through His everlasting love, (See 1 John 4:9).  “14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15 .   Today is the day of salvation; do everything under the banner and love in the name of Jesus. His Love Endures Forever!

(15-21).” - Matthew Henry Concise” Return to Admenu -  Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Psalms 135.  In Psalms 135 The Psalmist praises God for everlasting mercy and grace.  The Church in relation to God will always glorify his name because God’s love lasts forever.  “21 Blessed be the Lord from Zion, he who dwells in Jerusalem! Praise the Lord!”   Psalm 135:21  - English Standard Version (ESV).  God’s kingdom is from everlasting to everlasting.  Jesus makes it clear that the while heaven and earth will pass away His Word will last forever, (See Matthew 24:35).  “7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:7-10 .   Share the love of God whenever you can because you may awake a soul that would otherwise perish. If You Lie To Another You’re Hurting Them!

December 4, 2013 – Psalms 133-134 Psalms 133 “The excellency of brotherly love.” - Matthew Henry Concise” Psalms 134 “An exhortation to bless the Lord.)” - Matthew Henry Concise” Return to Admenu -  Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in two chapters, Psalms 133 &134.  In Psalms 133 The Psalmist is expounds that fellowship with God’s people is extremely sweet.  It’s the kind of fellowship that leads to eternal life.  “3 It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, 3 It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.”   Psalm 133  - English Standard Version (ESV).  In Psalms 134  He is clinging to God’s promises to the Lords chosen people will be blessing God and be blessed wherever they are in God’s creation. “1 Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord!  2 Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord! 3 May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth!” Psalm 134:1-3  Like God’s people we should trust God no matter how world makes our situation appear. There is no room for; “Little white lies to soften peoples condition.  If you feel bad at all in giving counsel to help soften the blow they have received, from themselves of others there is no justification in lies.  If you do lie to anyone you put yourself and them in bad spiritual conditions (See John 8:44).  It is best if we hold our Tung because lies will lead men to hell (See John 8:12).   If you lie to another you are keeping them from Jesus because in the lie you are telling them it’s OK to lie. We thank you Jesus in that you will personally wipe the tears from our eyes! Hallelujah! Can We Believe Jesus’ Promises?

(11-18)” - Matthew Henry Concise” Return to Admenu -  Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast with two chapters, Psalms 131 &132.  In Psalms 131 The Psalmist humbly declares that God’s people will be content in their walk with the Lord.  “1 O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. 2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.  3 O Israel, hope in the Lord  from this time forth and forevermore.”   Psalm 131  - English Standard Version (ESV).  In Psalms 132  David is clinging to God’s promises concerning the Lords chosen people. “17 There I will make a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed. 18 His enemies I will clothe with shame, but on him his crown will shine.”   Psalms 132:17-18.  Like David we should trust God no matter how the world makes our situation appear.   Jesus has made us promises concerning our eternal life (See Hebrews 13:5).  “35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”  John 6:35 – ESV.  Jesus promised that those that accept his offer of salvatin His church will never hunger or thirst again  (See Revelation 7:15-17).  We thank you Jesus in that you will personally wipe the tears from our eyes!
