Jan. 31, 2014 – 1 Timothy 3 & 4
The Feast and Our Mission?
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

1 Timothy Chapter 3, “The qualifications and behaviour of gospel bishops. (1-7) And of deacons and their wives. (8-13) The reason of writing about these, and other church affairs. (14-16)”  - Matthew Henry Concise
1 Timothy Chapter 4, “Of departures from the faith that began already to appear. (1-5) Several directions, with motives for due discharge of duties. (6-16)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading 1 Timothy  Chapter 3 & Chapter 4
Today I’m departing from our daily format in order to share what and why The Feast is.
What is “The Feast”? The Feast is a daily study in God’s word. By reading a chapter a day (sometimes two) we go through every word in the bible in about three years. I send the Feast out usually seven days a week, sometimes the weekend Feast is for Friday Saturday and Sunday. We host a prayer list which we keep up on prayer every day. http://www.admenu.com/prayer.htm. We would count it a blessing if you asked us to pray for you!
You can always reach me by email at: mike@admenu.com  I don’t solicit money and I do accept prayerful correction. The Saints that subscribe to the Feast love to pray & they know how to be forgiving because some of them have been putting up with me for years.  We don’t promote any particular version of the bible because if you pray before you read the scripture the Holy Spirit will bless you with understanding.
Our Mission; Faith through the Word We know where faith comes from; “So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17. We also know that you need to belong to a fellowship lead by God. We are not trying to fill that need.  We just want to help with prayer when you need it and nourishment on a daily basis.  Our Bible reading plan, takes about 15 minutes a day.  We read every word in the Holy Bible in about three year cycles.

16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;  John 4:23-24ESV.

Who Did Jesus Come to Save?

Today’s Feast

Jan. 30, 2014 – 1 Timothy 1 & 2
Those Who Jesus Came to Save?

1st Timothy an overview; “The design of the epistle appears to be, that Timothy having been left at Ephesus, St. Paul wrote to instruct him in the choice of proper officers in the church, as well as in the exercise of a regular ministry. Also, to caution against the influence of false teachers, who by subtle distinctions and endless disputes, corrupted the purity and simplicity of the gospel. He presses upon him constant regard to the greatest diligence, faithfulness, and zeal. These subjects occupy the first four chapters; the fifth chapter instructs respecting particular classes; in the latter part, controversies and disputes are condemned, the love of money blamed, and the rich exhorted to good works.” -  Matthew Henry Concise
1 Timothy Chapter 1, “The apostle salutes Timothy. (1-4) The design of the law as given by Moses. (5-11) Of his own conversion and call to the apostleship. (12-17) The obligation to maintain faith and a good conscience. (18-20)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise
1 Timothy Chapter 2, “Prayer to be made for all persons, since the grace of the gospel makes no difference of ranks or stations. (1-7) How men and women ought to behave, both in their religious and common life. (8-15)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading 1 Timothy  Chapter 1 & Chapter 2

In today’s Feast In Chapter 1 the people are warned against promoting un-repentant sinners as members of the Church.  The stratagem of God’s law and Paul’s call to the apostleship.  The Saints are prompted to carry on sharing the gospel in good faith imitating Jesus.  In Chapter 2 we are told to pray for all persons, with no regard for their positions or their outward appearance. How men and women ought to behave in an orderly manner, in every aspect of their life.  We are reminded there is one mediator between men and God.  “18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith,1 Timothy 1:18-19  (English Standard Version) ESV.   Jesus said if we have faith and do not doubt, we will have the power to move mountains (see Matthew 21:21).   Jesus came and died on the cross for any person willing to repent from their sin and accept the gift of salvation.  “16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;  John 4:23-24 ESV.  Jesus is sent from God the Father to redeem the sinners (see 1 Timothy 2:5).  Jesus didn’t come to save the righteous; he came to rescue those who are lost in sin.

23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.  John 4:23-24 ESV.

What Does Wisdom Begin With?

Today’s Feast

image

Jan. 29, 2014 – Proverbs 31
Why Should We Fear the Lord?

“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Proverbs 31, Verse1-9. “An exhortation to king Lemuel to take heed of sin, and to do duties.” Verse 10-31. “The description of a virtuous woman. (10-31)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading proverbs Chapter 31.

In today’s Feast The King is advised to live an upright and sin free life as a leader f the land.  The good wife is pictured as living a life dedicated to God and her family.   “9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy; 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.Proverbs 31:9; 31 (English Standard Version) ESV.   The words of king Lempel would be good advice to any person at home, work and as a parent (see 1 Timothy 3:12).  Those women who would have the perfect family would be wise to conduct their affairs like the good wife pictured in these verses (see Proverbs 31:10-31).  The most important relationship any man or woman has is the spiritual one with God.  “23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.  John 4:23-24 ESV.  Keep this in mind; unless a person is born again they can’t be in a real relationship with Jesus (see 1 Peter 1:3).  Let’s worship Jesus in spirit and truth acknowledging that, the fear of the Lord is just the beginning of knowledge.

Do you hear Jesus calling you?  Do you want to answer the call?  Do you want to find true happiness, peace and purpose in your life?  If the answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; http://www.admenu.com/calling.htm

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.  Galatians 1:6-8 ESV.
