“15 Let
the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were
called to peace. And be thankful. ” Colossians 3:15
![]()
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our
Feast by reading the book of Lamentations Chapter 1; “The
miserable state of Jerusalem, the just consequences of its
sins. (1-11) Jerusalem represented
as a captive female, lamenting, and seeking the mercy of
God. (12-22)”
Lamentations
Overview; “It is evident that Jeremiah was the
author of the Lamentations which bear his name. The book was not written till
after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Chaldeans. May we be led to consider
sin as the cause of all our calamities, and under trials exercise submission,
repentance, faith, and prayer, with the hope of promised deliverance through
God's mercy.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
The prophet
speaks of Jerusalem, as a distressed female voice (see
Lamentations 1:1-11)
and the LORD’s anger is just in dealing with transgressions. The Lord is punishing Jerusalem (see
Daniel 9:16) because of her
sins against God. In the time of their
end (see
Lamentations 1:12-22) His people are struggling under the weight of their sin;
“21 “They heard my
groaning, yet there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my
trouble; they are glad that you have done it. You have brought the day you
announced; now let them be as I am. 22 “Let all
their evildoing come before you, and deal with them as you have dealt with
me because of all my transgressions; for my groans are many, and my heart is
faint.” Lamentations 1:21-22 English Standard Version (ESV). God is not willing for any people to die in
their sins (see John 3:16) all they need
do is repent and ask Him for forgiveness in Jesus name. “6 And I am sure of
this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the
day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians
1:6
ESV. As
Christians it is up to us to foil that loneliness (see Matthew 5:14) by bringing God’s
Word to a lost and dying world.

Service That Pleases God

Service That Pleases God
Please join with us sharing

“4 Let marriage be held in honor
among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the
sexually immoral and adulterous.” Hebrews
13:4
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Hebrews Chapter 13;
“Exhortations to various duties, and to be content with what Providence
allots. (1-6) To
respect the instructions of faithful pastors, with cautions against being
carried away by strange doctrines. (7-15) Further
exhortations to duties, that relate to God, to our neighbour, and to those
set over us in the Lord. (16-21) This
epistle to be seriously considered. (22-25)” - Matthew
Henry Concise.
We have all been blessed with various gifts; we are to be
content with and exercise the gifts (see Hebrews
13:1-6) God has blessed each of us with. Jesus remains the same eternally, (see
Hebrews 13:7-15) don’t be led astray by strange
doctrines that don’t glorify God. Obey
the leaders that God appoints to watch over us, (see Hebrews
13:16-21) remember all people will answer to God so do what glorifies
God. This epistle ends with a final
appeal to the Hebrews to respect and do what is good and right to others; “20 Now
to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or
think, according to the power at work within us,21 to
him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews
13:22-25 English Standard Version (ESV). Let all that we do and all that we have (see
1
Corinthians 3:13) bring glory to God in the name of Jesus. “2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your
name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted
above all things your name and your word.” Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV. Pray for each other and your neighbors (see
Colossians
1:10) that they will all enjoy serving Jesus in a manner that glorifies
God.

Jesus Our Founder of Perfects Faith

“26 Was it
not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his
glory?””
Luke
24:26
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully
continue our Feast by reading the book of Hebrews Chapter 12; “An exhortation to be constant and persevere, The example of Christ
is set forth, and the gracious design of God in all the sufferings believers
endured. (1-11) Peace and holiness
are recommended, with cautions against despising spiritual blessings. (12-17) The New Testament
dispensation shown to be much more excellent than the Old. (18-29)” - Matthew Henry Concise.
We are in war
against sin as we serve Jesus (see
Hebrews 11:1-3)
winning can’t be by any means we must glorify God in all our actions. Do not resist the discipline from the Lord;
(see
Psalm 94:12) our Heavenly
Father disciplines the ones He loves. We
need to keep our heads held high and avoid sinning (see Hebrews 12:12-17) as
ambassadors for Christ we must be humble and honorable. Through Jesus, we have a new covenant (see
Hebrews 12:18-29 ) where we please God by worshiping in the name of Jesus. This new covenant cannot be shaken by men or
angels; “27 The words “once
again” mean that these created things will someday be shaken and removed. Then
what cannot be shaken will last. 28 We should be grateful that we were given a
kingdom that cannot be shaken. And in this kingdom we please God by worshiping
him and by showing him great honor and respect.29 Our God is like a destructive
fire!” Hebrews 12:27-29 English
Standard Version (ESV). How well we
perform our service to God in the name of Jesus (see 1 Corinthians 3:13) will
be revealed by fire on the day of judgment. “2 I bow down toward
your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your
faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your
word.” Psalm
138:2 ESV. Because Jesus died for all people, (see 1 Timothy 2:8) our
desire is that all people should know Jesus our founder of perfects
faith.
