Today’s
Feast
Sep.
6, 2014-1st Peter 2
A
Living Stone
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a
day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three
years. Gods
Not Dead!
“8
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene
talk from your mouth.” Colossians
3:8
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the
book of 1 Peter Chapter 2; “A
temper suitable to the Christian character as born again, is recommended. (1-10) Holy
conversation among the Gentiles directed. (11-12)
Subjects exhorted to pay all proper obedience to their civil governors. (13-17) Also
servants to their masters, and all to be patient, according to the example of
the suffering Saviour. (18-25)“
- Matthew
Henry Concise.
Put away all sin, because Jesus is holy (see 1 Peter 2:1-12)
let your conversation give glory to God.
Obey those appointed over you and always be respectful (see 1 Peter 2:13-17) honor everyone, Love the brethren, and fear God. Follow the
example of Jesus (see
1 Peter 2:18-25) as He suffered, He did not threaten; “24
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and
live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were
straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your
souls. ”
1
Peter 2:24-25
English Standard Version (ESV).
Everything that Jesus suffered (see Matthew
8:17)
was to fulfill prophesy because God loves us.
“23
Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father
will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
John 14:23
ESV. There is no downside to loving Jesus (see John
14:21)
and keeping his commandments. Just as
Jesus is the Living Stone (see 1 Peter 2:5) we
strive to become Living Stones through Jesus.

Called to Be Holy
|
Today’s Feast
Sep. 5, 2014-1st Peter 1
Called to Be Holy
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification:
that you abstain from sexual immorality;” 1
Thessalonians 4:3
An Overview 1 Peter; “The same great doctrines, as in St.
Paul's epistles, are here applied to same practical purposes. And this
epistle is remarkable for the sweetness, gentleness, and humble love, with
which it is written. It gives a short, and yet a very clear summary, both of
the consolations and the instructions needful for the encouragement and
direction of a Christian in his journey to heaven, raising his thoughts and
desires to that happiness, and strengthening him against all opposition in
the way, both from corruption within, and temptations and afflictions
without.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of 1 Peter Chapter 1; “The
apostle blesses God for his special benefits through Christ. (1-9) Salvation
by Christ foretold in ancient prophecy. (10-12) All
are exhorted to holy conversation. (13-16) Such
as is suitable to their principles, privileges, and obligations. (17-25)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
Peter
greets the exiles in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, (see 1-peter
1:1-9) you have never seen Jesus yet your faith in Him saved you. Some prophets
told how kind God would be to you (see
1
Peter 1:10-12) and because of your faith the Holy Spirit has revealed Jesus
to you. You have been chosen to live a
holy life (see 1
Peter 1:13-16) as Jesus who called
you is holy, you also be holy. God judges
all people by what they do (see 1
Peter 1:17-25) because you obeyed the truth, your souls were made pure; “24
for "All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord remains
forever." And this word is the good news that was preached to you. ” James 5:19-20 English Standard
Version (ESV). Because we are saved by
the blood of Christ (see
John
14:21) our conscience has
been cleared to serve the living God. We have been ransomed to serve Jesus; “18
And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And
behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."” Matthew 28:18-20 ESV. We must let everyone including God’s chosen people know that
Jesus is the Messiah (see Acts
2:36) and that God has made
him both Lord and Christ. There are still only two
choices (see Luke
16:13) every person will
choose between Jesus and the world.
Can you hear Jesus calling you? Do you want to live a holy
life? Do you want to find true
happiness, peace and purpose in your life?

The World or Jesus?
|
Today’s Feast
Sep. 4, 2014-James 4 & 5
The World or Jesus?
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“19 If you were of the world, the world
would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose
you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:19
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of James Chapter 4
& Chapter 5;
(4) “Here are cautions
against corrupt affections, and love of this world, which is enmity to God. (1-10)
Exhortations to undertake no affairs of life, without constant
regard to the will and providence of God. (11-17)
-
(5) The judgments of God denounced against rich unbelievers. (1-6) Exhortation
to patience and meekness under tribulations. (7-11) Cautions
against rash swearing Prayer recommended in afflictive and prosperous
circumstances, Christians to confess their faults to each other. (12-18)
The happiness of being the means of the conversion of a sinner“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
If
you love Jesus you will love your neighbors as well; “19
My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings
him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his
wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” James 5:19-20 English Standard
Version (ESV). Listen Saint; ask yourself
this; (see John
14:21) do I really love
Jesus? If the answer is yes; “13
Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the
faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 By the Holy Spirit who dwells
within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.” 2 Timothy 1:13-14 ESV. Don’t swerve from
faith in Jesus carry on (see 1
Timothy 1:5-7) telling all people what
the genuine love of God means. There are only two choices
(see Luke
16:13) each person will choose
between loving Jesus or loving the world.
Is Jesus calling you? Do you want peace of mind? Do you want to find true happiness, peace
and purpose in your life? If the
answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; admenu.com/calling.htm
