In An Eternal Relationship?

Today's Feast

Sept. 12, 2015 – Joshua 8
In An Eternal Relationship?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. W e will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.Philippians 4:4, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast reading Joshua, Chapter 8; “God encourages Joshua. (1,2) The taking of Ai. (3-22) The destruction of Ai and its king. (23-29) The law read on Ebal and Gerizim. (30-35)- Matthew Henry Concise.

The reasons that we continue in the Feast are because this is what God would have us do. For the saints it’s as important as continuing to eat a healthy diet as long as we live. We know that man does not live by bread alone, he lives by reading every word (Matthew 4:4) that God has given to him. We also know that the more we retain from this steady diet (Romans 10:17), the stronger our faith grows.

Yesterday we saw the folly in taking what belongs to God. Today we see the power of in an eternal relationship repentance with our awesome God. God not only forgives us but he ads to our life. “8 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear and do not be dismayed. Take all the fighting men with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into in an eternal relationship your hand the king of Ai, and his people, his city, and his land. 2 And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its livestock you shall take as plunder for yourselves. Lay an ambush against the city, behind it.”Joshua 8:1-2, ESV. We’ve noticed this pattern of forgiveness all through in an eternal relationship God’s Word. Remember how Jesus acted in return to Peter’s denial of him at the crucifixion. I can’t imagine how bad Peter was feeling after having denied Jesus three times. This was after Pete told Jesus that he wouldn’t turn his back on Him. The Word shows us that Jesus understood how bad Peter felt about the denial. Jesus made sure that Peter knew that he was still loved and forgiven. He had the messenger at the tomb to specifically convey his message to Peter. 6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.”Mark 16:6-7, ESV. Those two words “and Peter” told Peter that Jesus had already forgiven him. We see the love nature of God when he tells us to love our neighbors. Not only that if you read God’s Word prayerfully you will begin to see just how forgiving his nature is. Look at how many times God said we should forgive a brother. “hen Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.Matthew 18:21-22, ESV. Saint, this tells us that if we are truly repentant then God’s willingness to forgive us is infinite. “12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.John 1:12-13, ESV. God’s will allows us to share in an eternal relationship with Him. Lets keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.

Giving God The Glory?

Today's Feast

Sept. 11, 2015 – Joshua 7
Giving God The Glory?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. W e will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.Psalm 121:1-2, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast reading Joshua, Chapter 7; “The Israelites smitten at Ai. (1-5) Joshua's humiliation and prayer. (6-9) God instructs Joshua what to do. (10-15) Achan is detected, He is destroyed. (16-26)- Matthew Henry Concise.

Be careful to continue to give God all the glory. Don’t take God’s glory or property for your own gain as you serve Him. We see that God gave His people victory over Jericho. However as we read today we see Achan took spoils from that which belonged to God. God is displeased with Achan to the extent that some of Achan’s fellow soldiers died in the next campaign. Now Joshua doesn’t understand why God would turn His back on the Israelite army. “10 The Lord said to Joshua, “Get up! Why have you fallen on your face? 11 Israel has sinned; they have transgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings. 12 Therefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will be with you no more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.Joshua 7:10-12, ESV. As we serve our Lord give Him the Glory for he alone is worthy. As we serve God in love and faith allow him to reward each of us. [ Choose Whom You Will Serve ] “14 “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.Joshua 24:14, ESV. We are reading God’s word our faith is producing works. He is worthy of our praise and our love. Serve him faithfully and allow Him to reward you. “24 Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.1 Samuel 12:24, ESV. Saint, ask yourself if you’re willing to enter into a personal relationship with God? Are you able to serve God on his terms? Share His gifts giving Him all that is due to Him. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.Matthew 5:14-16, ESV. Our personal relationship with Jesus allows us to freely share that which He has given us. Give up what you cannot keep for the gift you cannot loose. Be sure to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.
