Jan. 23,
2016 – Acts 15
Love, Will Forget
& Bury Diversities!
Please join
with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day
praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who
gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in
Acts Chapter 15; “The dispute raised by Judaizing teachers. (1-6) The
council at Jerusalem. (7-21) The
letter from the council. (22-35) Paul
and Barnabas separate. (36-41)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
Concerning God’s instruction to the Jews,
the Pharisees, raise the questions of the laws. The apostles and the elders
hold council at Jerusalem. The letter from the council, states because they
are saved by faith the gentiles would do well to abstain from things
sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and that which was strangled, and from
sexual immorality. In dispute, Paul and Barnabas separate. “36
And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us return and visit the
brothers in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how
they are.” 37 Now Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark. 38 But
Paul thought best not to take with them one who had withdrawn from them in
Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work. 39 And there arose a sharp
disagreement, so that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with
him and sailed away to Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and departed, having
been commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. 41 And he went
through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.”
Acts
15:36-41, ESV. Paul and Barnabas were quick to return to service for God,
in spite of the dispute. Paul
continues to speak with care and affection for both Barnabas and Mark, in his
epistles, written after the incident. If we profess our love for our God and
Savior, that love, soon forgets and buries disagreements among believers. “[A
New Prophet like Moses] “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet
like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen—”
Deuteronomy
18:15, ESV. We serve God not man, be alert for God’s instruction. Hold
all things up to the light that is God’s Word. Continue to keep the first thing first, that is
salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Be sure that what you and those you
associate with, do in Jesus name truly glorifies God! If the Lord is
willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow
You’ll find the praise and prayer list at; admenu.com/prayer.html. Prayer request or Praise reports can be
sent to brother Mike at; mike@admenu.com
Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our
salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed
his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will
come to get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and
hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father
only.” Matthew 24:36, ESV. We are
building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to
change anything. Click this link for

What’s Done In Jesus Name?

In Jesus Name?

“[ Ask, and It Will Be Given ] “Ask, and
it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds,
and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in
Acts Chapter 14; “Paul and Barnabas at Iconium. (1-7) A
cripple healed at Lystra, The people would have sacrificed to Paul and
Barnabas. (8-18) Paul
stoned at Lystra, The churches visited again. (19-28)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
Paul and Barnabas speaking clearly at
Iconium convert a great many Jews and Gentiles. Paul and Barnabas address a
cripple and he is healed at Lystra, The people would have sacrificed to Paul
and Barnabas, but they declared they were men like them. Because of the deep
seated corruption, the people stoned Paul at Lystra, Paul is healed, and he
and Barnabas visit the churches again. “24 Then they passed through
Pisidia and came to Pamphylia. 25 And when they had spoken the word in Perga,
they went down to Attalia, 26 and from there they sailed to Antioch, where
they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had
fulfilled. 27 And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they
declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of
faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they remained no little time with the disciples.”
Acts
14:24-28, ESV. Paul and Barnabas were quick to give the glory to God for
the cripples healing. The
rewards of serving Jesus and being sealed by the Holy Spirit are sufficient
in themselves. “5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and
I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do
nothing… 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear
much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” John
15:5,8, ESV. We could do no good in true love without Jesus. That is why
we keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus
Christ. What is done in Jesus name truly glorifies God!.
