The World Or The Wisdom?
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who
gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1 Kings Chapter 4; “Solomon's court. (1-19) Solomon's dominions, His daily provision. (20-28) The wisdom of Solomon. (29-34)” - Matthew Henry
Concise.
Today we prayerfully read in, 1
Kings 4. Solomon’s courts were chosen for their
abilities and their allegiance to Solomon. Solomon’s subjects were as many as
the sand by the sea. The wisdom of Solomon; ”29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and
understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the
seashore, 30 so that Solomon's wisdom surpassed
the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of
Egypt. 31 For he was wiser than all other
men, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of
Mahol, and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. 32 He
also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005. 33 He
spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows
out of the wall. He spoke also of beasts, and of birds, and of reptiles, and
of fish. 34 And people of all nations came to
hear the wisdom of Solomon, and from all the kings of the earth, who had
heard of his wisdom.” 1
Kings 4:29-34, ESV. God asks you what you want in life when he
offers you salvation. Do you want things of this world or the
wisdom to walk with God in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness
of heart? Just remember that God is not willing that any should
perish, he wants all people to come to Him through Jesus for Salvation. “[Jesus Comforts His Disciples] “1 “Let
not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In
my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you
that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to
myself, that where I am you may be also.” John
14:1-3, ESV. Think about it are you really giving anything up
to walk with Jesus? You get rest in this life, a life that you
cannot keep anyway. In return for walking with God you get
life that you cannot lose, everlasting life in God’s kingdom. Let’s
keep the first thing first. That is the gift of God, salvation through the
blood of our Lord Jesus. Walk with Jesus and share his love. If
the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

“15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise
but as wise,” Ephesians
5:15, English Standard
Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1 Kings Chapter 3; “Solomon's marriage. (1-4) His
vision, His prayer for wisdom. (5-15) The judgment of Solomon. (16-28)” - Matthew Henry
Concise.
Thank you for sharing the Feast. Today
we prayerfully read in, 1
Kings 3. Solomon’s marries the Pharaoh’s daughter. In
his vision, Solomon remembers king David walked with God in faithfulness, in
righteousness, and in uprightness of heart. His prayer for wisdom pleased
God. The judgment of Solomon, concerning the fate of a child; “23 Then the king said, “The
one says, ‘This is my son that is alive, and your son is dead’; and the other
says, ‘No; but your son is dead, and my son is the living one.’” 24 And
the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So a sword was brought before the king. 25 And
the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and
half to the other.” 26 Then the woman whose son was alive said to
the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my lord, give her
the living child, and by no means put him to death.” But the other said, “He
shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him.” 27 Then the king
answered and said, “Give the living child to the first woman, and by no means
put him to death; she is his mother.” 28 And all Israel heard of
the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king,
because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.” 1
Kings 3:23-28, ESV. God asks you what you want in life when he
offers you salvation. Do you want things of this world or the
wisdom to walk with God in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in
uprightness of heart? Just remember that God is not willing that
any should perish, he wants all people to come to Him through Jesus for
Salvation. “Come to me,
all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew
11:28, ESV. Think about it are you really giving anything up

Share Who’s Love?
Today’s Feast
Share Who’s Love?
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“O you who love the Lord,
hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the
hand of the wicked.” Psalm 97:10, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1 Kings Chapter 2; “David's dying charge to Solomon. (1-4) David's
charge as to Joab and others. (5-11) Solomon reigns, Adonijah aspiring to the
throne is put to death. (12-25) Abiathar banished, Joab put to death. (26-34) Shimei is put to death” - Matthew Henry
Concise.
David’s is dying and he tells Solomon to
obey the laws of God. David’s tells Solomon how to deal with Joab and others. Solomon
is installed on the throne, for trying to take the throne Adonijah is put to
death. Abiathar is banned from being a priest to the Lord, Joab
put to death for killing righteous men. Shimei is put to death; ”42
the king sent and summoned Shimei and said to him, “Did I not make you swear
by the Lord and solemnly warn you, saying, ‘Know for certain that on the day
you go out and go to any place whatever, you shall die’? And you said to me,
‘What you say is good; I will obey.’ 43 Why then have you not kept your oath
to the Lord and the commandment with which I commanded you?” 44 The king also
said to Shimei, “You know in your own heart all the harm that you did to
David my father. So the Lord will bring back your harm on your own head. 45
But King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be
established before the Lord forever.” 46 Then the king commanded Benaiah the
son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck him down, and he died.” 1
Kings 1:49:53, ESV. Sin is like a cancer, which keeps eating
away unnoticed for a while. We should listen to David’s
instructions to Solomon. We need to obey God and keep his precepts. “[Bless
the LORD, O My Soul] Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is
within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all
his benefits,” Psalm
103:1-2, ESV. In all our ways we should honor Jesus. Share
his love and keep the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through
the blood of our Lord Jesus. Let our very souls praise the Lord! If
the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Simply Promoting Jesus!
Today’s Feast

Feb. 6, 2016 – 1 Kings 1
Simply Promoting Jesus!
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“Whoever pursues righteousness
and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.” Psalm 33:4-5, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1 Kings Chapter
1;
“The history now before us accounts
for the affairs of the kingdoms of Judah and Israel, yet with special regard
to the kingdom of God among them; for it is a sacred history. It is earlier
as to time, teaches much more, and is more interesting than any common
histories.
David's declining age. (1-4) Adonijah aspires to the
throne. (5-10) David
makes Solomon king. (11-31) Solomon is
anointed king, and Adonijah's usurpation stopped. (32-53)” - Matthew
Henry Concise.
David is old and his health
is declining. Adonijah the son of Haggith, promotes himself to David’s
throne. After Nathan and Bathsheba explain the situation to King David,
he makes Solomon, his promised heir king. Solomon became king, and Adonijah’s
usurpation is stopped; ”49 Then all the guests of Adonijah trembled
and rose, and each went his own way. 50 And Adonijah feared Solomon. So he
arose and went and took hold of the horns of the altar. 51 Then it was told
Solomon, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon, for behold, he has laid hold
of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that
he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’” 52 And Solomon said,
“If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the
earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.” 53 So King Solomon
sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and paid homage
to King Solomon, and Solomon said to him, “Go to your house.”” 1 Kings 1:49-53, ESV. This
is another example of a person trying to take power over God’s will. God’s
Word tell us that God promotes one and puts down another. The
powers appointed over us are promoted by God. Therefore we should
never presume we are more important than another to God. That is
the kind of behavior that will only embarrass us in the best of
circumstances. “he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now
you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my
eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all
peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people
Israel.” Luke 2:28-32, ESV. In
all we do and share put God at the forefront. The God purposed
life keeps God first and exalts others over ourselves in His kingdom. We
should always keep the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through
the blood of our Lord Jesus. In this way we are never doormats, we
are simply promoting Jesus over ourselves. If the Lord is willing
I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Looking For Friends?
Today’s Feast

Feb. 5, 2016 – Acts 28
Looking For Friends?
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“For the word of the Lord is
upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and
justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.” Psalm 33:4-5, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 28; “Paul kindly received at Melita. (1-10) He
arrives at Rome. (11-16) His
conference with the Jews. (17-22) Paul
preaches to the Jews, and abides at Rome a prisoner. (23-31)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
After seeing something
different about him, Paul was kindly received at Melita. Paul arrives at Rome
and many brothers there came to the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to
fellowship with him. Paul continues to share the good news, about the Messiah
Jesus as prophesied in the Old Testament with the Jews. Paul preaches to the
Jews, and lives in Rome as a prisoner. ”28 Therefore let it be known
to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will
listen.”29: And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, having much
dispute among themselves. 30 He lived there two whole years at his own
expense, and welcomed all who came to him, 31 proclaiming the kingdom of God
and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without
hindrance.” Acts
28:28-31, ESV. Paul
continues to share the good new boldly no matter his circumstances. I believe that we can learn a
lot about God’s will and the purpose the Holy Spirit has for our lives as we
continue to read the Word of God. “26 But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he
will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have
said to you.” John
14:26, ESV. We are to prayerfully, lovingly and boldly carry this same
message to all persons. Keeping
the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through the blood of our
Lord Jesus. You can carry this awesome, message in love to all people. Some
may reject you and or the salvation message, to their own detriment. Many
will accept Jesus, with an open heart. When they accept Jesus you will have
more brothers or sisters in the family of God! Matthew Henry phrased it well
in his commentary on the 28th Chapter
of of Acts; “…God can make strangers to be friends; friends in distress.
Those who are despised for homely manners, are often more friendly than the
more polished; and the conduct of heathens, or persons called barbarians,
condemns many in civilized nations, professing to be Christians…” If
the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
