Is There Hope Without Jesus?

The Best of the Feast

Apr. 24, 2016 Romans 3
Is There Hope Without Jesus?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.Romans 12:12, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in Romans, Chapter 3; “Objections answered. (1-8) All mankind are sinners. (9-18) Both Jews and Gentiles cannot be justified by their own deeds. (19,20) It is owing to the free grace of God, through faith in the righteousness of Christ, yet the law is not done away. (21-31)” -  Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Romans 3.  The question posed here in verses nineteen and twenty is; “can I be saved by following the law?”  I believe salvation is not possible without our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.   “19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.Romans 3:19-20, ESV.  The law cannot save us!  We cannot do away with the law, It simply points to what we must or must not do.  We are justified by and our righteousness is in Jesus.  In other words there is no justification or salvation to be found in the law.  “15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,1 Peter 3:15, ESV.  We honor Jesus, because he is the savior.  There is no law or person other than Jesus that can pay for our sins.  It is a privilege to share Jesus with those who don’t know Him. Those that have accepted Jesus are in a relationship with Him.  We share his love with others gently and respectively, knowing that there is no peace without salvation.  There is no hope without Jesus!  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Are We To Judge Others?

The Best of the Feast

Apr. 23, 2016 Romans 2
Are We To Judge Others?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

11 for it is written,  “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,  and every tongue shall confess to God.”Romans 14:11, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in Romans, Chapter 2; “The Jews could not be justified by the law of Moses, any more than the Gentiles by the law of nature.(1-16) The sins of the Jews confuted all their vain confidence in their outward privileges. (17-29)” -  Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully begin our Feast in Romans 2.   Has God called us to judge others?  Do we do right in judging another’s heart?   I think we would do well to examine our own heart accept Jesus and repent.  “3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.Romans 2:3-5, ESV.  When we do well accepting Jesus and repent of our own sins then God can use us in the harvest.  If we acknowledge God and don’t accept Jesus and turn from our sinful acts, we are still lost.  I believe it is better that we accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation and turned from our sin.  “8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,2 Timothy 1:8-9, ESV. This gift of salvation urges us on to good works as free servants filled with the Holy Spirit.  We are unashamed sharing the work that Jesus has done in our life.  We herald God giving God all the glory, not judging others.  We proceed following Jesus, with Spirit filled lives, sharing the Word.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

What Are We Sharing?

The Best of the Feast

Apr. 22, 2016 Romans 1
What Are We Sharing?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.Romans 1:20, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in Romans, Chapter 1; “The scope or design of the apostle in writing to the Romans appears to have been, to answer the unbelieving, and to teach the believing Jew; to confirm the Christian and to convert the idolatrous Gentile; and to show the Gentile convert as equal with the Jewish, in respect of his religious condition, and his rank in the Divine favour. These several designs are brought into on view, by opposing or arguing with the infidel or unbelieving Jew, in favour of the Christian or believing Gentile. The way of a sinner's acceptance with God, or justification in his sight, merely by grace, through faith in the righteousness of Christ, without distinction of nations, is plainly stated. This doctrine is cleared from the objections raised by Judaizing Christians, who were for making terms of acceptance with God by a mixture of the law and the gospel, and for shutting out the Gentiles from any share in the blessings of salvation brought in by the Messiah. In the conclusion, holiness is further enforced by practical exhortations.

The apostle's commission. (1-7) Prays for the saints at Rome, and expresses his desire to see them. (8-15) The gospel way of justification by faith, for Jews and Gentiles. (16,17) The sins of the Gentiles set forth. (18-32)” -  Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully begin our Feast in Romans 1.   I see many things that are worthy for expounding upon in Romans 1.  I have chosen to dwell on Paul’s greeting to the saints in Rome.  “6 including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ, 7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.Romans 1:6-8, ESV.  This describes you to a tee Saints.  You are loved by God, having received God’s gift of salvation and grace through Jesus.  [ God of All Comfort ] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.2 Corinthians 1:3-4, ESV This is part of our nature as saints, being comforted by peace from the Holy Spirit by whom we are sealed. This is what we are sharing with all who will come. Salvation through Jesus and peace that passes understanding from the Holy Spirit.   Let the light of your soul, redeemed by Jesus shine!

Never apologize for God’s Word, if any are offended it’s because they are living in sin.  Don’t twist God’s Word to support a sinner, in doing so you would just condemn them as well as yourself from salvation; “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.2 Corinthians 1:3-4, ESV. Only God can forgive sin!  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Brother Mike

Let God Be Our Guide!

The Best of the Feast

Let God Be Our Guide!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”John 10:28-30, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 1 Chronicles, Chapter 29; “David induces the princes and people to offer willingly. (1-9) His thanksgiving and prayer. (10-19)Solomon enthroned. (20-25) David's reign and death. (26-30)” -  Matthew Henry Concise.

Today as we prayerfully continue our Feast in I Chronicles 29.  As we finish today’s study we see a King’s Kingdom handed off from David to his son. We see people being urged to give unselfishly. Sometimes we have trouble not being happy and graceful when we see a friend receive property or pardon. If you’re content with what God has prepared for you, then it is easier being truly happy for others. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3, ESV. Pray for those in need with us and if you can do more; our Lord knows how to guide you. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Honoring God!

The Best of the Feast

Honoring God!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with haughty neck.’” For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up,but it is God who executes judgment,  putting down one and lifting up another.Psalm 75:5-7, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 1 Chronicles, Chapter 28; “David exhorts the people to the fear of the Lord. (1-10) He gives instructions for the temple. (11-21) ” -  Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 28.   We are reminded that God will never leave or forsake us. God has a plan for every person’s life; “20 Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.21 And behold the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of the house of God; and with you in all the work will beevery willing man who has skill for any kind of service; also the officers and all the people will be wholly at your command.”1 Chronicles 27:1, ESV.  We are reminded again that God will never leave or forsake us; “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5, ESV.  God has given each and every one of us different gifts.   “12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. “  1 Corinthians 12:12-13, ESV.  So it is up to us to use our gifts given by the Holy Spirit to honor God. If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Prepared For War & Peace!

The Best of the Feast

Prepared For War & Peace!

10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 1 Peter 4:10, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 1 Chronicles, Chapter 27; “ David's military force. (1-15) Princes and officers. (16-34) ” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 27.   We see the Military Divisions; “This is the number of the people of Israel, the heads of fathers' houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:1 Chronicles 27:1, ESV.  And the leaders, councilors and scribes appointed; “32 Jonathan, David's uncle, was a counselor, being a man of understanding and a scribe. He and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni attended the king's sons. 33 Ahithophel was the king's counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king's friend. 34 Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was commander of the king's army.1 Chronicles 27:32-33, ESV.  David knew the value of being and appointing good stewards over all of God’s gifts. God has given you and I salvation, prepared us for battle and spreading the gifts he has given us as we are Ambassadors; “19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”Matthew 28:16-20, ESV.  We just as David know the importance of a strong military.  God has identified the real enemy and showed us how to prepare for the battle, as soldiers of the cross; “12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.Ephesians 6:12, ESV.  Therefor as good stewards we will stand prepared; for War and Peace! If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Can God’s Church Succeed?

Can God’s Church Succeed?

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 1 Chronicles, Chapter 26; “The offices of the Levites.” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 25.   Success depends on planning and cooperation with God.  Today we see different duties assigned as there were needs and capabilities; “26 This Shelomoth and his brothers were in charge of all the treasuries of the dedicated gifts that David the king and the heads of the fathers' houses and the officers of the thousands and the hundreds and the commanders of the army had dedicated. 1 Chronicles 25:6-7, ESV.  God has a perfect plan and He gives us all duties in His Church body.  We all members of one body with each of us being a different member we complete the body; “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.1 Corinthians 12:7-11, ESV.  In the Church body each of us are working together in harmony to accomplish God’s will.  By being together called according to God’s will we will succeed; “28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.Romans 8:28, ESV.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.
