Where Should I Look?

Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in a double portion in 2 Chronicles 16-17.  in chapter 16 we see the end of King Asa’s reign and the results of his lack of faith in God.  In chapter 17 his son Jehoshaphat is off to a good start with God.  “3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals, 4 but sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments, and not according to the practices of Israel. 5 Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor. 6 His heart was courageous in the ways of the Lord. And furthermore, he took the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.” 2 Chronicles 17:3-6, ESV. Those of us, who have a good start with our faith in the Lord Jesus, should keep faith to the end.  “10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10, ESV.  Jesus died for our sin while we were still sinning. Because he pulled us up out of our worldly ways, we should keep faith in Jesus until God calls us home.   As long as we hold onto our faith we will never fall.  “29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”” Matthew 14:29-30, ESV.  Keep your eyes on Jesus, not the condition of the world around us.  Look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow. What Are You Holding On To?

We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. “13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13, English Standard Version (ESV). Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 15.  When God’s people found themselves suffering they turned to the Lord, and sought him, God heard them.  The people make a solemn covenant with God.  “17 But the high places were not taken out of Israel. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true all his days. 18 And he brought into the house of God the sacred gifts of his father and his own sacred gifts, silver, and gold, and vessels. 19 And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.” 2 Chronicles 15:17-19, ESV. We know the grace of God is sufficient for all he asks of us.  If an earthly father can love unconditionally despite a child’s mess, how much more does our heavenly Father love us regardless of our uncleanness?  “20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20, ESV.  Jesus died for us that we would be free from sin.  Look around Saints, we have the one thing that none of the false religions have.  All the religions that are following false gods have one thing in common.  Their followers have been told that they must make the sacrifice to be saved. Only Jesus paid the full price for the salvation of God’s followers. I know there is no other name under heaven, by which we are saved than Jesus.  We are justified because of the faith we hold on to in Jesus.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow. What Does My Life Reveal?

We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. “10 I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10, English Standard Version (ESV). Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 14. In the Feast for today we read about Asa’s piety.  He tore down the places where false gods were worshiped.   He even removed his own mother as Queen because she worshiped false gods.   King Asa loved the Lord with all his heart and might and God strengthened his kingdom.  “12 So the Lord defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled. 13 Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Ethiopians fell until none remained alive, for they were broken before the Lord and his army. The men of Judah carried away very much spoil.” 2 Chronicles 14:12-13 , ESV. God lifts up and even defends those whose lives demonstrate their love for Him.  “16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” 1 John 3:16, ESV.  I guess the question is; what does my life reveal about me.  Is my life as a Christian a smoke screen to cover my true love?   God can see my heart; he knows what I struggle with in my flesh.  Do I really love and appreciate what Jesus means to me?  Do I give God the glory when I avoid sin?  Do I truly repent when I sin (yes I still sin) and turn to my Lord for love and forgiveness.  God knows my heart and if the answer is yes; He will continue to bless me.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow. Will We Convince or Condemn?

We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. “5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6, English Standard Version (ESV). Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 13.  The Feast for today really examines the life of two kings.  The first is Abijah whose house served the true Lord God; and secondly Jeroboam who chased after idols which were false gods. “15 Then the men of Judah raised the battle shout. And when the men of Judah shouted, God defeated Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. 16 The men of Israel fled before Judah, and God gave them into their hand.” 2 Chronicles 13:15-16, ESV. God put down Jeroboam the wicked man and lifted up Abijah whose household served God.  I don’t think there were any questions about the outcome, our God never changes.  “14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, ESV.  As long as we continue to live to serve Jesus according to his purpose God will continue to bless us.  There is never a reason to get caught up in endless disputes with unbelievers.  With kind words continue to share God’s love with them. How Often Do We Seek God?

We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. “26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:26, English Standard Version (ESV) Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 12.  Rehoboam started out great in his walk with God. He backslid and cast away his love and service to God.  Then we see that he repented and called out to God.  God hears Rehoboam and forgives him. However the price of sin was still extracted in that the wars with Jeroboam continued. “15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, from first to last, are they not written in the chronicles of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer? There were continual wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. 16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David, and Abijah his son reigned in his place.” 2 Chronicles 12:15-16, ESV. Rehoboam was never completely dedicated in his walk with God. He didn’t seek the Lord with all his heart. He didn’t always take time to pray.  “7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” Ephesians 1:7, ESV.  A true relationship with Jesus means we will talk to him in constant prayer and supplication.  We love our fellow man and try to glorify God in every part of our being.  We share the part of our life that makes us shine, with others.  We strive to walk with Jesus in every area of our lives. Where Do We Lend Support?

We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. “10 For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.” Hebrews 6:10, English Standard Version (ESV) Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 11.  God forbids Rehoboam to war against his relatives. Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem and fortifies his kingdom. Jeroboam and his sons cast priests of the Lord out because he and his people were serving false gods. The priests and Levites find refuge in Judah. Solomon’s son Rehoboam walked in the way of David and Solomon. “22 And Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah as chief prince among his brothers, for he intended to make him king. 23 And he dealt wisely and distributed some of his sons through all the districts of Judah and Benjamin, in all the fortified cities, and he gave them abundant provisions and procured wives for them.” 2 Chronicles 11:22-23, ESV. Rehoboam was wise in supporting God’s priests.  We need to keep or eyes focused on Jesus.  “2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2, ESV.  Our relationship with Jesus will lead to us supporting our church family in many ways.  Look to God and His Word before you place your support behind any cause or person.  If it doesn’t glorify God don’t support it!  If it does glorify God it will line up with his Word.  Hold everything, cause or purpose up to Jesus’ light.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow. What Is It About?

We spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years. “33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ” Romans 11:33, English Standard Version (ESV) Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 10.  Rehoboam takes counsel from untested, unwise sources. The ten tribes revolt from Rehoboam.  “18 Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was taskmaster over the forced labor, and the people of Israel stoned him to death with stones. And King Rehoboam quickly mounted his chariot to flee to Jerusalem. 19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.” 2 Chronicles 10:18-19, ESV. If we need advice of any kind we should take the matter to the Lord in prayer.  If we need to ask a person for their expertise, consult God’s Word to see how they measure up.  “31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.” Matthew 6:31-32, ESV.  God saved each of us to a purpose. Each saint is unique in the body of God. “3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”  Romans 12:3-5, ESV.  It never was about our religion; rather it is about our relationship with Jesus!  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
