Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue the Feast in 2 Corinthians 1. Matthew Henrys Concise commentary breaks down chapter one as follows; “The apostle blesses God for comfort in, and deliverance out of troubles. (1-11) He professes his own and his fellow-labourers’ integrity. (12-14) Gives reasons for his not coming to them. (15-24)”.  Matthew Henrys Concise Commentary.

I wonder what Paul would have to say if he were writing a letter to our community? Would he be warning us Against False Teachers; “As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith..1 Timothy 1:3-5 ESV.  I will not speculate as to what the content of his letter to us might contain.  He might just refer us to his second letter to the Corinthians.  Let’s continue to prayerfully Feast together and allow God’s Word to nourish our spirit. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Nehemiah 13. It’s very important for us to understand where God’s people turned for instruction. Let’s look at the first three versus of today’s Feast; “1 On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God, for they did not meet the people of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them—yet our God turned the curse into a blessing. As soon as the people heard the law, they separated from Israel allthose of foreign descent.”  Nehemiah 13:1-3, English Standard Version (ESV).  They turned to the Word of God! This is a very important piece of information.  If we depend on others to tell us what the Word of God says we don’t have a clue.  We would be leaning on our understandings of what other people say is the Word of God.  If we pray and listen to or read the Word of God we have, God’s Word for what we understand. “5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.Proverbs 3:5-6, ESV.  When we pray and read the Word of God we are preparing ourselves for his work.   This is why the study part (praying & reading the chapters) of the Feast is so important.  The Word of God tells us to study to show ourselves approved, just workmen with a right understanding of God’s Word (see 2 Timothy 2:15).  Also God said we need to hear every word that proceeds from his mouth to live (see Matthew 4:4).  If you know Jesus, pray and read the Word of God from beginning to end no one will be able to deceive you (see Galatians 1:6-9)!  I’ve heard people say;”I wish I had that kind of faith!”  If anyone wants to have “that kind” of faith they can join us in the Feast, praying and reading every Word in the Bible spending about fifteen minutes a day in God’s Word. We know where faith comes from; “17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.Romans 10:17, ESV.  So when someone says; “I wish I had that kind of faith!” You can help them. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Nehemiah 12; the genealogy of the priests and Levites that returned. The wall is dedicated with praise and thanksgiving. The officers were appointed over the storerooms, the contributions, the first fruits, and the tithes.  “46 For long ago in the days of David and Asaph there were directors of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. 47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.”  Nehemiah 12:46-47, English Standard Version (ESV).  Giving was not looked at as a burden or solemn duty. They gave to God with praise and thanks giving. “16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, ESV.  What a Joy it is to be able to go to God with praises and thanksgiving.  There will be no grief, burden, sadness, pain nor sorrow when we join Jesus (see Revelation 21:4).   Jesus Himself will wipe away any tears.  When the Church joins Jesus it will be a joyful event.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Nehemiah 11, about the distribution of the people of God.  “31 The people of Benjamin also lived from Geba onward, at Michmash, Aija, Bethel and its villages, 32 Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim, 34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat, 35 Lod, andOno, the valley of craftsmen. 36 And certain divisions of the Levites in Judah were assigned to Benjamin.”  Nehemiah 11:31-36, English Standard Version (ESV). Once again we see that there is a purpose for everyone who accepts Jesus as their savior. “4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?Psalm 56:4, ESV.  Jesus saves us from sin and suffering.  He has a purpose for everyone he saves.  When Jesus gives you an assignment the Holy Spirit gives you understanding and God will supply the means;  “26 For “the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof.”1 Corinthians 10:26, ESV. Simply put; “where the Spirit leads, God provides”.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Nehemiah 10. Those entering a covenant with God, are turning from world, and are vowing to be directed by the Word of God.  They make a pledge saying they will live to serve God 39 For the people of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the contribution of grain, wine, and oil to the chambers, where the vessels of the sanctuary are, as well as the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers and the singers. We will not neglect the house of our God.”” Nehemiah 10:39, English Standard Version (ESV).  Many people eagerly ask Jesus in to their lives.  Unlike Jesus they drift away from their relationship with the Son of God.  “17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
18 to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.
Psalm 103:17-18, ESV. Jesus saves us from sin and suffering.  He paid for all of our sins and is faithful to forgive us when we slip back into sin.  All that he requires from us is that we truly repent and ask Jesus to forgive us.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Nehemiah 9. Having read today’s chapter I must say again; Our God is Awesome and true! “38  “Because of all this we make a firm covenant in writing; on the sealed document are the names of our princes, our Levites, and our priests.” Nehemiah 9:38, English Standard Version (ESV).  Everywhere we look in God’s Word shows us how much our God loves us.  If we’re ready to confess our sin and repent God is faithful to (see 2 Peter 3:9) forgive us. “15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.Romans 12:15, ESV.  Love God with all your being! Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.  Love the sinner and hate the sin.  It’s true; We are weak but God is strong.  Share the love and mercy that Jesus shares with you.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Nehemiah 8. The Feast commences with the reading and expounding the law. God’s people are called upon to be joyful.  All the people feast together and God’s joy is on the people. “17 And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing. 18 And day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read from the Book of the Law of God. They kept the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly, according to the rule.” Nehemiah 8: 17-18, English Standard Version (ESV).  Joy and love is what God wants for us Saints.  So enjoy the Day, praising God and thanking Him.  Be thankful for those who carried the Word of God to us.  “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.Acts 20:24, ESV.  God has blessed our forefathers and those who came before us teaching the word of God.  We are a blessing to those who come after us as we obey and share God’s Holy Word. “24 This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24, ESV.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
