Monday, December 01, 2008, Matthew 8

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue the Feast in Matthew 8.  It feels like the Christmas Season has begun today.  Can you imagine how that young Girl, Mary felt nine months before the first Christmas? “Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her” (Luke 1:38).  Now that’s faith, all we have to do is believe.  There is no one that can accuse us of doing wrong for believing and sharing Jesus.  Think of what Mary had to think about, being betrothed to Joseph.  I mean we know they counted the months because the angel informed Mary that her cousin Elizabeth was in her sixth month.  Look at Mary and think about the times we’ve had the opportunity to share Jesus and let it pass by.  As we continue to Feast this Christmas season remember, share Jesus at every opportunity.  You can start by sharing the Feast with others, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  It’s easy during this season cast your net and become fishers of men.  Think about it when your reading today about the Centurions faith. You can contact me at mlitew8@yahoo.com. Lord willing I’ll send the feast again tomorrow.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”- John 1:1-2, 14

Friday, November 28, 2008, Matthew 5 a weekend Feast

Dear Saints,

This weekend we prayerfully start our feast in Matthew 5, Matthew 6  and Matthew 7 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.  I went to my son-in-law’s sister’s home to share the Thanksgiving holiday.  It was a great experience sharing the holiday with people that hold similar Christian values.  "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” (Matthew 5:15).  I am truly grateful to my son-in-law’s family for sharing their Thanksgiving meal with my wife and me.  Just the same as I am grateful for sharing this feast with all of you!  You can contact me at mlitew8@yahoo.com. Lord willing I’ll send the feast again Monday.

Sharing our Feast Wednesday, November 26, 2008, Matthew 3 & 4

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully start our feast in Matthew 3 and tomorrow I’ll be on holiday so we’ll do Matthew 4 for Thanksgiving.  I have so much to be thankful for it seems like every day is Thanksgiving.   If you’re traveling or having family for the Thanksgiving, be sure to share Jesus.  I have a cousin that effectively shares Jesus with a smile!  However you choose to share Jesus is between you and Him.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16).  Anything else isn’t worth discussion, or debate.  As you read today imagine John the Baptist’s Holiday meal; “John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.” (Matthew 3:4).  I am amazed this was on the day he was there to baptize Jesus!  You can contact me at mlitew8@yahoo.com. Lord willing I’ll send the feast again tomorrow.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,”- Hebrews 12:28

Monday, November 24, 2008, Matthew 1

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully start our feast in Matthew 1.  I learned more about myself this last weekend; it seems that I needed God’s gift as much as anyone.  This was in areas I didn’t even think to look in.  “The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned." (Matthew 4:16).  Remember I’m still looking for your thoughts and prayer about admenu.  You can contact me at mlitew8@yahoo.com. Lord willing I’ll send the feast again tomorrow.

“[Freedom From Human Regulations Through Life With Christ] So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”- Colossians 2:6-7

Matthew Overview

“Matthew, surnamed Levi, before his conversion was a publican, or tax-gatherer under the Romans at Capernaum. He is generally allowed to have written his Gospel before any other of the evangelists. The contents of this Gospel, and the evidence of ancient writers, show that it was written primarily for the use of the Jewish nation. The fulfilment of prophecy was regarded by the Jews as strong evidence, therefore this is especially dwelt upon by St. Matthew. Here are particularly selected such parts of our Saviour's history and discourses as were best suited to awaken the Jewish nation to a sense of their sins; to remove their erroneous expectations of an earthly kingdom; to abate their pride and self-conceit; to teach20them the spiritual nature and extent of the gospel; and to prepare them for the admission of the Gentiles into the church.” (Matthew Henry’s Concise)

The Feast,
Monday, November 24, 2008, Matthew 1 - The genealogy of Jesus. (1-17) An angel appears to Joseph. (18-25).
