Righteousness? Deuteronomy 9

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 - Due 9 l The Feast l June_4_2012 Deu 9 Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Deuteronomy 9 Look again at what God has done for his people. Not because they were mighty and righteous. “4 “Do not say in your heart, after the Lord your God has thrust them out before you, ‘It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,’ whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out before you. 5 Not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart are you going in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and that he may confirm the word that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” Deuteronomy 9:4 - 5, English Standard Version (ESV). Our God didn’t make a new covenant with us because we were righteous. Not at all it is because he loves us and Jesus is righteous. “6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.“ 1 John 3:6-8 ESV. This is counted to you as being righteous Saint because of his righteousness. This is why we need to keep the first thing first. That being salvation through the blood of the righteous one, the son of God, Jesus “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11 ESV. I send the Feast out as the Holy Spirit inspires me. Am I a Theologian? Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “…But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to change anything. Old or New? Deuteronomy 6 – 8

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 - Due 6-8 l The Feast l June 1-3, 2012 Deu 6 – 8 Dear Saints, This weekend we prayerfully continue our Feast in Deuteronomy 6 - 8 Here we find out just how important God is to his people. “4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” Deuteronomy 6:4 - 7, English Standard Version (ESV). Oh brother that is old testament scripture. I suppose you still believe in the “Creation Story”? If you do you do well because Jesus said this concerning our relationship with God. “25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him,“What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”” Luke 10:26-28 ESV. It is a weekend Feast so lets look a little further at the Word. As I said one of the reasons we need the Feast is because man does not live by bread alone. God passed that to his people through Moses. “3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.“ Deuteronomy 8:3, ESV. Again you may have said that’s Old Testament scripture. Then Jesus passed it on to us through his Word;”3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”“ Matthew 4:3-4 ESV. I’ll say this again today. “This new covenant is with you Saint. This is why we need to keep the first thing first. That being salvation through the blood of the perfect man, the son of God, Jesus.” ” And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”” Revelation 21: 2-4 ESV . Do you know that you are made in the image of God? Do you want to be a real Saint? You are an eternal being, where you spend eternity depends on your relationship with God? If you want to be sure, turn from sin and just say this simple prayer; “Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.“ If you said this prayer inviting Jesus into your heart. Now turning from sin, and seek fellowship just as we do. We worship and fellowship in a Church (group of believers) that strives to measures up to God’s Word. You need a Bible believing body of believers (church) to worship and pray with. Our salvation depends completely on God! 7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 - Due 5 l The Feast l May 31_2012 Deu 5 Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Deuteronomy 5 Look again at what God has done for his people. “2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 Not with our fathers did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today. 4 The Lord spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire,” Deuteronomy 5:2 - 4, English Standard Version (ESV). Our God made a new covenant not just with the Israelite alone, but with all men. “14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. 15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. 16 For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.” Hebrews 9:15 ESV This new covenant is with you Saint. 7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 Mar15- Due 4 l The Feast l May 30_2012 Deu 4 Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Deuteronomy 4 Look at what God has done for his people. These things are all passed on to you, the Saint that was the sinner. “1 “And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the rules[a] that I am teaching you, and do them, that you may live, and go in and take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you. 2 You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. 3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did at Baal-peor, for the Lord your God destroyed from among you all the men who followed the Baal of Peor.” Deuteronomy 4:1 - 3, English Standard Version (ESV). Wow! Our God is awesome and worthy of all our praise. What he promises he keeps. Lets keep the first thing first Salvation by the blood of the Lamb. “But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.”Psalm 103:17-18 ESV.
