National Days of Prayer Day 27 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 22. Today we read in 1st Samuel, The Lord tells David to rescues Keilah from the Philistines. God warns David to escape from Keilah. Jonathan Saul’s son comforts David. God rescued David and his men from Saul using an invasion of the Philistines. “27 But a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come, for the Philistines have invaded the land!” 28 Therefore Saul returned from pursuing David, and went against the Philistines; so they called that place the Rock of Escape. 29 Then David went up from there and dwelt in strongholds at En Gedi.” I Samuel 23:27-29` New King James Version (NKJV). God is still honoring David’s faith and reverence for king Saul.

40 Days of Prayer- Devotional 27
SCRIPTURE: Mathew 5:13-16.
13 ¶ “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.
15 If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand.
16 Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

WORTH YOUR SALT?
Why are we here at this time of chaos in the world? If each of us realized we are here by the will of God for a specific purpose, it would change our world view. Notice we are to salt to our children, nation, and world. What is the function of salt? One of the functions of salt is to preserve. We are to preserve the faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The belief that He is the foundation of life is basic in developing a great nation that is blessed by God. Another purpose of salt is to “season” life. Seasoning enhances taste and also does the same to our nation. God has given us the prescription to be a nation that is great and prosperous. In verses 14 through 16 it states that ought to be “God Colors” to the rest of the world. We must be public in our testimony for God. In fact we are reminded that God has put us on a hilltop as a light to the nations of the world. This election will require voting for the leaders that reflect Christ as the way. Pray for discretion in choosing your vote for the candidate to head our Nation.

PRAYER: God help us to discern who will lead us validate our reputation as a “nation under God.” Make us as individuals to be light reflectors of the “Light of the world”.

Your faith in God, will allow our Lord to work in your life. Let’s continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. ““The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 NKJV. Wait on the Lord our God.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 22. Today we read in 1stSamuel, David at Adullam, Saul destroys the priests of Nob. God sends Abiathar another brother to to David. “20 Now one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David. 21 And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the Lord’s priests. 22 So David said to Abiathar, “I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have caused the death of all the persons of your father’s house. 23 Stay with me; do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life, but with me you shall be safe.”” I Samuel 21:12-15, New King James Version (NKJV). Like David, we need to wait on the Lord everyday.

Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.’” –Joshua 3:5
Who of us would not like to see the Lord do amazing things in our midst? We certainly need that supernatural work of God in our nation today. Israel received that promise; yet, it was a conditional promise. God would do miraculous things if His people consecrated themselves.
Consecration is one of those “church words” that sometimes confuses us. To consecrate is to set apart for a particular purpose. It is closely tied to the idea of being made holy. In the tabernacle and later the temple, certain items were consecrated for a special purpose. They could no longer be used in an ordinary way. That was God’s Word to the Israelites in Joshua’s day. It is also God’s Word to us today.
Our nation desperately needs a consecrated church, a people set aside for the Lord’s purposes. We are the way God has chosen to communicate His will to nations. But if we are not a consecrated, holy people, the communication becomes garbled and mixed with our unholiness.
Note that the Lord said that they (and we) were to consecrate themselves. This was not a passive thing, but actively required them to set themselves apart for the purposes of God. As you pray today, would you consecrate yourself, so that we might see the Lord do amazing things in our midst?
Prayer Points
• Repent of a lack of consecration and purpose in your life.
• Commit yourself to a life of consecration for the Lord’s purposes.
• Pray for a spirit of consecration and holiness to come upon the church in America.

My Prayer
Father, I am so grieved over my lack of consecration. I have believed and loved You, but I’ve been trying to do Your work in my own strength, and so often for my own purposes. In the name of Jesus, I consecrate myself unto Your purposes. Here I am, Lord. Use me as You will. And what I pray for myself, I pray for Your church. Lord, help us to be holy. Our nation desperately needs a holy people to speak Your Word in these days. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us that we might be empowered to be used by You. Lord, we need You to do amazing things in our midst.

Your faith in God, should dictate your actions, Our heart may tell you differently, but God said our hearts are evil. We can keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. ““Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 ESV” Proverbs 15:23 NKJV. We should always keep our faith in God.

While I do not agree with everything this man believes, I do believe hi is a brother in the Lord Jesus Christ. I read this report on him and Romney and am begging you Saints to at least Pray about it and read it before you vote. look at it before you vote. As I’ve said before ask Jesus for whom you should pray and vote!

Here’s a small quote;

At the 2011 National Prayer Breakfast, the president said, "When I wake in the morning, I wait on the Lord, and I ask Him to give me the strength to do right by our country and its people. And when I go to bed at night I wait on the Lord, and I ask Him to forgive me my sins, and look after my family and the American people, and make me an instrument of His will." He told the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast: "I wake up each morning and I say a brief prayer, and I spend a little time in scripture and devotion." Where does he go to church?
As stated before, the Obamas have not formally joined another church after leaving Trinity United Church of Christ in 2008. They have visited several congregations over the years, but worship primarily at the Evergreen Chapel at Camp David.
The current chaplain at Camp David, Lieut. Carey Cash, is a Southern Baptist and a very committed evangelist. Obama says that he "delivers as powerful a sermon as I’ve heard in a while. I really think he’s excellent.”

Prayer Is the best choice in our life, after accepting Jesus as our Lord and savior. Each of us has our own special relationship with Jesus as well as to the Body of Christ. We each ask God for His guidance and depend on his grace.

God Bless you,
Brother Mike
