Rejoice on Memorial Day!

May 27, 2013 – Nehemiah 8
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully
Feast in Nehemiah 8. The Feast commences with the reading and
expounding the law. God’s people are called upon to be joyful. All the people feast together and God’s joy is
on the people. “17 And all the assembly of those
who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for
from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had
not done so. And there was very great rejoicing. 18 And day by day, from the
first day to the last day, he read from the Book of the Law of God. They kept
the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly,
according to the rule.”
Nehemiah 8: 17-18 English Standard
Version (ESV). Joy and love is what God
wants for us Saints. So enjoy Memorial
Day, praising God and thanking Him for the ones who came before us insuring
our rights and freedom. Those who
carried the Word of God to us. “But I do not account my life of
any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the
ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the
grace of God.” Acts 20:24 ESV. God
has blessed our forefathers and those who came before us teaching the word of
God. We are a blessing to those who
come after us as we obey and share God’s Holy Word.
God’s word teaches
us how to have a loving and meaningful memorial day. See Pastor Glens newest devotional

Does Jesus know You?
Does Jesus know You?
May 26, 2013 – Nehemiah 7
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully
Feast in Nehemiah 7; In order for the city to stand it is more
important to depend on its people rather than its walls. “73 So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers,
the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel, lived
in their towns. And when the seventh
month had come, the people of Israel were in their towns.” Nehemiah 7: 19 English Standard Version
(ESV). We know that God’s blesses His
people and these genealogies further serve to let us know that Jesus knows
each person that he calls. God doesn’t
call his people into condemnation, we are called into salvation. “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but
in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:17 ESV. God loves every individual that comes to
repentance and accepts Jesus as their Lord and savior. Jesus promises each Saint that he will
never leave or forsake him. These
genealogies we are Feasting on serves to build our faith in that Jesus knows
each one of His people.

Is there value in the Feast?
Is there value in the Feast?
May 25, 2013 – Nehemiah 6
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully
Feast in Nehemiah 6; When the wall was completed Sanballat's and the rest
of their enemies plot to hinder Nehemiah. Tobiah and Sanballat had hired false prophets to frighten Nehemiah. many in
Judah were bound by oath to Tobiah and that caused treachery of some among
the Jews. (15-19); “19 Also they spoke of his good
deeds in my presence and reported my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to
make me afraid.” Nehemiah 6: 19 English Standard Version
(ESV). When we look at the deceit and treachery
we have to ask ourselves; Who was behind it? Jesus tells us who the enemy really is and
how we are to defend against the enemy in the Word. “[Hearing and Doing the Word] Know this, my beloved brothers: let every
person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;” James 1:19 ESV. God never wanted us to be in the dark. What is it we are supposed to be quick to
hear? That’s easy if you want to know read
God’s Word (see Romans 10:17).
So who is the enemy and how do
we defend ourselves? The enemy is the
devil and God’s Word tells us how to defend ourselves in Ephesians
6.
Once again we see the value in
this Feast we share in God’s Word.
