Today’s Feast Do I Tell You How To Worship? Oct. 22, 2013 – Psalms 80 Psalms Chapter 80 - “The psalmist complains of the miseries of the church. (1-7) Its former prosperity and present desolation. (8-16) A prayer for mercy. (17-19)” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 80. The Psalmist notes that the people of God have strayed.  He petitions God to restore His church to its former glory and asks God for mercy.  “ 18 Then we shall not turn back from you;     give us life, and we will call upon your name! 19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!     Let your face shine, that we may be saved!”   Psalm 80:18-19 - English Standard Version (ESV).  Sometimes I see the people I love not strictly following Jesus in a manner I think is exactly right.  Maybe I don’t agree with their theology or what they eat.  Is it my place to approach them about the way they worship or things I consider offensive (See acts 10:14-15)?  They are saved and they say they love Jesus as long as they belong to God I have no business telling them what to eat or how to worship. “3 Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. 4 Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.”  Romans 14:3-4  ESV.  I should greet them in a manner that is pleasing to Jesus and love them as a brother or sister. Then I can unite with them to work in the harvest. Worship Jesus together in spirit and truth, that is God’s will for us (See John 4:23)!   Hallelujah! Today’s Feast Walking With Jesus! Oct. 21, 2013 – Psalms 79 Psalms Chapter 79 - “The deplorable condition of the people of God. (1-5) A petition for relief. (6-13)” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu Home Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 79. God’s people have moved away from the Lord.  The psalmist is asking God for quick forgiveness.    “ 13 But we your people, the sheep of your pasture,     will give thanks to you forever;     from generation to generation we will recount your praise.”   Psalm 79:13 - English Standard Version (ESV).  Do you feel that Jesus has moved away from you at times?  That’s just another reason to join us on the feast everyday (See Matthew 4:4) as we explore Gods Word.  “I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.””   Psalm 40:8.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (See James 4:8).   Hallelujah! (40-55) The mercies of God to Israel contrasted with their ingratitude. God’s people are blessed in spite of their actions.  “ 71 from following the nursing ewes he brought him     to shepherd Jacob his people,     Israel his inheritance. 72 With upright heart he shepherded them     and guided them with his skillful hand.”   Psalm 78:71-72 - English Standard Version (ESV).  Hey!  Does your world seem out of control?  Are you constantly complaining about the world around you?  If the answer is yes people will begin to avoid you.  Maybe you should take it to the Lord Jesus in prayer (See Philippians 4:6-8).  “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”  Psalm 51:12.  People are drawn to the light in your spirit (See John 8:12)!   Amen!
