Let Us Sing Songs of Praise!
Nov. 5, 2013 – Psalms 95

Psalms Chapter 95 - … An exhortation to praise God. (1-7) A warning not to tempt Him. (7-11)” - Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 95.  Psalmist is encouraging God’s people to raise their voices in praise.  He reminds them what happened to those who raised their voices constantly to complain.  8     do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah,
    as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
9 when your fathers put me to the test”   Psalm 95:8-9 - English Standard Version (ESV).   As I said yesterday; “Our God never changes you can trust …”   I am reminded that everywhere I turn people are complaining about the inflation, health care and politicians.  Unfortunately it is not going to change our situations to commiserate with our friends, family and acquaintances.  They know what you’re feeling and usually end up joining in the fray!   We should be instead turning to Jesus in praise and prayer (See 1 Peter 5:6-7), not inciting our friends and neighbors to complain!  Campaign, vote and write letters if you want to move politicians.  “6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Romans 13:6 ESV.  Let us walk in the light of His Word.  We needn’t complain we should take our fears to Jesus in prayer.9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 ESV!   Let the Holy Spirit minister to us as we praise God.  We will be better received by God and those around us.

Let’s all just praise the Lord! Hallelujah!

5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 ESV.

From Whence Our Sufficiency Comes?

God Will Not Forsake His People!

Nov. 4, 2013 – Psalms 94

Psalms Chapter 94 - The danger and folly of persecutors. (1-11) Comfort and peace to the persecuted. (12-23)” - Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 94.  Psalmist is encouraging those who suffer wrong, to depend on their God who judges the wicked.  He says God will avenge his people and bring them justice.  22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
    and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will bring back on them their iniquity
    and wipe them out for their wickedness;
    the Lord our God will wipe them out.”   Psalm 94:22-23 - English Standard Version (ESV).   Our God never changes you can trust Him just as the psalmist does.  Men may fail you; Jesus won’t (See Psalms 55:22)!  Never fear what men can do at home, on your job, in governments or wherever God puts you.  “5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 ESV.  Continue to walk in the light of His Word.  We needn’t complain we should surrender our fears to Jesus (See 2 Corinthians 12:9-10)!   The Holy Spirit gives us that peace that exceeds understanding.

God’s awesome love is our amazing grace! Hallelujah!
