Do They All Know Christ?

Dec. 21, 2013– Colossians 1
Colossians 1  The apostle Paul salutes the Colossians, and blesses God for their faith, love, and hope. (1-8) Prays for their fruitfulness in spiritual knowledge. (9-14) Gives a glorious view of Christ. (15-23) And sets out his own character, as the apostle of the Gentiles. (24-29)” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Colossians.  By reading Colossians 1.

Colossians An Overview  “This epistle was sent because of some difficulties which arose among the Colossians, probably from false teachers, in consequence of which they sent to the apostle. The scope of the epistle is to show, that all hope of man's redemption is founded on Christ, in whom alone are all complete fulness, perfections, and sufficiency. The Colossians are cautioned against the devices of judaizing teachers, and also against the notions of carnal wisdom, and human inventions and traditions, as not consistent with full reliance on Christ. In the first two chapters the apostle tells them what they must believe, and in the two last what they must do; the doctrine of faith, and the precepts of life for salvation.” -  Matthew Henry Concise

In Colossians 1 Paul is saying that, faithful fellowship with all Christians is observed by saints everywhere.  He goes on to say Jesus will be glorified by their faithfulness.  Paul proclaims that suffering for the body is equal to suffering for the head.  “28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.  Colossians 1:28-29  - English Standard Version (ESV).
These scriptures remind us that faith, hope, and love, are in the nature of the Christians (see Colossians 1:5-6).   We now are the elect Saints that have matured to carry the love of Jesus to the world.  “6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.Luke 2:6-7 ESV.   Now they recognize Jesus as the baby in a manger.  If we are faithful to carry the Word of God to the world they will understand who Jesus really is (see Matthew 28:16-20).

Jesus let us carry your Word to the world this Christmas season! Hallelujah!

How Can I Share Christ This Christmas Season?

Our Citizenship Is In Heaven!

Dec. 20, 2013– Philippians 4

Philippians 4  “The apostle exhorts the Philippians to stand fast in the Lord. (1) Gives directions to some, and to all in general. (2-9) Expresses contentment in every condition of life. (10-19) He concludes with prayer to God the Father, and his usual blessing. (20-23))” –  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Philippians.  By reading Philippians 4.   Paul is telling the Philippians to support their fellow Christians.  He tells them of the blessing he receives from being in service to Jesus.  “21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.  Philippians 4:22-23  - English Standard Version (ESV).   I didn’t think I would see the day when people would be persecuted for quoting the Word of God in the USA.  I now understand that we are engaged in a war with powers, principalities and spiritual forces of evil (see Ephesians 6:12).   Many people are not even allowed to wish others Merry Christmas in the work place.  “4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.Luke 2:4-5 ESV.   I don’t advocate rebelling against your employer.   Jesus provides us with our employment and we must honor our employers (see Matthew 10:16).  So when you are the customer at any business during the Christmas Season at the conclusion of your business wish the people you are dealing with a hearty; “Merry Christmas!”  In doing so you are reminding people that at Christmas we are still worshiping Jesus!

Father help us to share Christmas with those we patronize this year and every year until you take us home! Hallelujah!

Dec. 19, 2013– Philippians 3

Philippians 3  “The apostle cautions the Philippians against judaizing false teachers, and renounces his own former privileges. (1-11) Expresses earnest desire to be found in Christ; also his pressing on toward perfection; and recommends his own example to other believers. (12-21)” –  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Philippians.  By reading Philippians 3.   Paul is telling the Philippians that salvation is not given for keeping law.  He reiterates salvation is the gift of God paid for through Jesus.  “20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.  Philippians 3:20  - English Standard Version (ESV).   We are saved by our Savior Jesus the Christmas gift to all people (see Luke 2:11).   We are sharing Jesus with all mankind; Jesus is the gift for the Christmas season.  “76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, 78 because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on highLuke 1:68-70 ESV.   We thank God the Father for our citizenship in heaven through Jesus God coming to us as a baby in the Christmas season (see Philippians 3:20).

Lord we invite all men to share in your Christmas gift! Hallelujah!

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,Luke 1:68-70 ESV.
