Jan. 12, 2014 – Proverbs 14

What Exalts A Nation?

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Proverbs 14  Verse 1. A woman who has no fear of God, who is wilful and wasteful, and indulges her ease, will as certainly ruin her family, as if she plucked her house down. Verse 35. The great King who reigns over heaven and earth, will reward faithful servants who honour his gospel by the proper discharge of the duties of their stations: he despises not the services of the lowest.” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs Chapter 14.

As we seek the wisdom of righteousness in Proverbs 14, we see that men’s actions and thought do not always promote a nation.  “34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.  35 A servant who deals wisely has the king's favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.Proverbs 14:20-21 (English Standard Version) ESV.  Wise men seek God when they make decisions.  Sometimes the men who guide a free nation make big mistakes in enforcing or enacting the laws for the nation (see Romans 1:22).  The actions of these “wise” judges push a nation further from God because they lean on their own understanding (see Proverbs 3:5-6).   Some decisions by the persons who lead a nation make its population feel lost and out of control.  There is strong action we can take as Saints (see 2 Chronicles 7:14).  Jesus said if we Saints can agree on our needs we can bring them to God in prayer; “18 Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.Matthew 18:18-20  ESV. Jesus also said that whatever we ask in His name (see John 14:13), it will be done.  We cannot waiver.  Instead of complaining to each other about the state of our nation; let’s take it all together in prayer to God in Jesus’ name.  Then and only then will God exalt our nation!

Jan. 11, 2014 – Proverbs 13
Jesus is Our Righteousness!
The righteous hates falsehood, the teaching of the wise is a fountain of life.

Proverbs 13  “…There is great hope of those that reverence their parents..., …He acts as if he hated his child, who, by false indulgence, permits sinful habits to gather strength, which will bring sorrow here, and misery hereafter…” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs Chapter 13.

As we read Proverbs 13 we see the scripture speaking of the wise and the righteous.  “20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. 21 Disaster pursues sinners, but the righteous are rewarded with good.Proverbs 13:20-21 (English Standard Version) ESV.  The wise person understands their righteousness in Jesus (see Isaiah 64:6 and Romans 3:21-23).  No person is righteous without faith in Jesus (see Romans 3:9-12).   “5 Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.

6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?Psalm 118:5-6  ESV. Jesus the man was tempted yet he never sinned; He is righteous (see 1 John 2:1), faithful and true.

Strive for Self Control!
Whoever loves self-control loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is senseless.

Proverbs 12  “…Those who have grace, will delight in the instructions given them. Those that stifle their convictions, are like brutes...” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs Chapter 12.

As we read Proverbs 12 we find that the saint who guards his thoughts controls his tongue.  “3 No one is established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will never be moved.”; “28 In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.Proverbs 12:3;28 (English Standard Version) ESV.  When we guard our thoughts we are guarding against sin (see Matthew 5:28).  When we guard our thoughts we will further control our tongue against unrighteousness.  Our tongue contains power over life and death (see Proverbs 18:21).   “15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”1 Peter 1:15-16  ESV.  When we strive for self-control we are striving to walk in love and to be imitators (see Ephesians 5:1) of our lord Jesus.

Spiritual Wisdom!

Today’s Feast

Spiritual Wisdom!
Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.

Proverbs 11  A man of understanding does not judge of others by their success.” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs Chapter 11.

As we read Proverbs 11 we are shown the contrasts between spiritual wisdom as opposed to fleshly folly!   “30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.  31 If the righteous is repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!Proverbs 11:30-31 (English Standard Version) ESV.  If I judge others by their success or make fun of them it is counted to me as senseless folly (see Proverbs 11).  A man of understanding does not judge of others by their outward appearance or success.   It is important to remember that Jesus would prefer that all men would come to accept the gift of salvation (see 2 Peter 3:9).   Once again I would say; “It is good to hate the sin and to remember that Jesus came to redeem the sinner.”   “19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Matthew 6:19-21  ESV.  We share a loving spiritual God with the world; and only by the power of his Spirit can people truly know and share Jesus.

Is Jesus calling you?  Can you still feel God’s calling?  Do you want to find true happiness, peace and purpose in your life?  If the answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; http://www.admenu.com/calling.htm

Jan. 8, 2014 – Proverbs 10

The Proverbs of Solomon
Jesus is the Wisdom so often spoken of in Proverbs!

Proverbs 10  Through the whole of the Proverbs, we are to look for somewhat beyond the first sense the passage may imply, and this we shall find to be Christ. He is the Wisdom so often spoken of in this book.” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs Chapter 10.

As we read Proverbs 10 again we see the contrasts between seeking wisdom as opposed to folly!   “31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.Proverbs 10:31-32 (English Standard Version) ESV.  When you and I seek to share Jesus with the sinner do we attack them for their sin or do we offer the love of Jesus (see Romans 12:9).  I think that when people are caught up in sin they must think Jesus is waiting to drop a hammer on their head.  The way some Christians present salvation to them sort of confirms that view.   Remembering that we are sinners whom Jesus saved we should find a better way to offer the love of Jesus (see Proverbs 18:19).   It is good to hate the sin but remember Jesus came to redeem the sinner.  “14 Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said.  15 Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.Amos 5:14-15  ESV.  We share a loving God with the world; remember he is not willing that any should parish. When we share Jesus we are sharing salvation and love.

Listen carefully; is Jesus calling you?  Are you ready to answer His call?  Do you want to find true happiness, peace and purpose in your life?  If the answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; http://www.admenu.com/calling.htm

Is Jesus Calling Us To Be Secret Agents?

Today’s Feast

Jan. 7, 2014 – Proverbs 9

The Way of Wisdom & Folly

Proverbs 9  The invitations of Wisdom. (1-12) The invitations of folly. (13-18)” -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in the book of Proverbs Chapter 9.

In Proverbs 9 we see the contrasts between seeking wisdom as opposed to folly!   “16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” And to him who lacks sense she says, 17 “Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”
18 But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.Proverbs 9:16-18 (English Standard Version) ESV.  Persons that hide what they are doing from the light of God’s Word are being foolish.  (see John 3:20).  People who seek Jesus and his love are at the beginning of wisdom and insight.  Jesus said that he is the light of the world (see John 8:12) those who follow Him have the light of life.  “1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.Ephesians 5:1-2  ESV.  When we are walking in the light with Jesus; we’re walking in love!
