Gods Not
Dead! Please join us sharing God’s Word
daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word
in God’s Word in approximately three years.
“9 If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all
unrighteousness.” 1 John
1:9
Jeremiah
Chapter
3, “Exhortations to repentance. (1-5) Judah
more guilty than Israel. (6-11) But
pardon is promised. (12-20) The
children of Israel express their sorrow and repentance. (21-25)” - Matthew Henry

Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book
of Jeremiah Chapter 3.
The God defines
the ramifications of sin, repentance and forgiveness through the prophet
(see
Jeremiah
3:1-5) Jeremiah.
God’s Glory is denied (see
Jeremiah
3:6-11) by Israel’s
lack of faith; God calls on the Israelites to repent. Calling on Israel to repent and accept His
love (see
Jer 3:12-20); God promises the Messiah for Israel and all nations
that will repent and ask Him for salvation.
Sin is like cancer that will lead to death (see
Jeremiah 3:21-25) unless treated by God’s grace, love and
forgiveness. “24 “But from our youth the shameful thing has devoured all
for which our fathers labored, their flocks and their herds, their sons and
their daughters. 25 “Let
us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For we have sinned
against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day,
and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”“ Jeremiah
3:24-25
English Standard
Versions (ESV). It is
not enough to know who Jesus is (see James
2:19) one must repent and accept God’s gift
for forgiveness of sin?
“1There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are
in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law
of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and
death.“ Romans
8:1-2
ESV. We are forgiven in the name of Jesus
(see 2 Corinthians 3:6), not by the letter of God’s law but by the Spirit of
God’s love.

Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our
Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 2.
The Prophet Jeremiah witnessed that God’s chosen people that had loved
God in the beginning (see
Jeremiah
2:1-8) now have turned to condone and follow after other god’s that
are not. God is calling his people back because they
have turned to follow foreign gods (see Jeremiah
2:9-13), even though they are not God. The deeds of God’s people have brought bitter
doom (see Jeremiah
2:14-19) upon themselves by rejecting God’s love. These people are living in bitterness and
shame (see Jer
2:20-28) because they traded God’s law for the laws that are
worldly. My chosen people have turned
against me to their own destruction (see Jeremiah 2:29-37) by denying God’s glory. “36 How much you go about, changing your way! You shall
be put to shame by Egypt as you were put to shame by Assyria. 37 From it too
you will come away with your hands on your head, for the Lord has rejected those
in whom you trust, and you will not prosper by them.“ Jeremiah
2:36-37 English Standard
Versions (ESV). Can a
nation that says “In God We Trust” survive (see Jeremiah
2:23) when it passes laws that support sin?
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making
the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with
salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each
person.”
Colossians
4:5-6 ESV. We must ask ourselves if we support sin
(see James 1:13-18); what kind of message are we sending our children? As Christians we must
(see Matthew
22:37) love the Lord our God with all are hearts. If we don’t love the Lord our God with every
fiber of our being (see 2 Peter 2:21) we are turning away from Jesus. God loves us so much that he sent His only
begotten (see John
3:16) Son Jesus to pay for our
transgressions.
Can you hear Jesus calling
you? Do you want to be sure of your
future? Do you want to find true
happiness, peace and purpose in your life?

The Call of Jeremiah
Today’s Feast

May 7, 2014 – Jeremiah 1
The Call of Jeremiah
Gods Not Dead!
Please join us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in
approximately three years.
“14 I
press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in
Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14
Jeremiah
Overview; “Jeremiah was a
priest, a native of Anathoth, in the tribe of Benjamin. He was called to the prophetic
office when very young, about seventy years after the death of Isaiah, and
exercised it for about forty years with great faithfulness, till the sins of
the Jewish nation came to their full measure and destruction followed. The
prophecies of Jeremiah do not stand as they were delivered... The general
subject of his prophecies is the idolatry and other sins of the Jews; the
judgments by which they were threatened, with references to their future
restoration and deliverance, and promises of the Messiah. They are remarkable
for plain and faithful reproofs, affectionate expostulations, and awful
warnings.” - Matthew Henry Concise
Jeremiah Chapter 1, “Jeremiah's call to the prophetic office. (1-10) A vision of
an almond-tree and of a seething-pot, Divine protection is promised. (11-19)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 1. God calls Jeremiah to be a prophet (see Jeremiah
1:1-10) to the Jews as wells as the neighboring nations.
God shows Jeremiah the destruction of
Judah and Jerusalem for they sinned by (see Jeremiah 1:11-19) denying God’s glory. God avows His judgment, for they forsook the
Lord. “18 And I, behold, I make you this
day a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the
whole land, against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the
people of the land. 19 They will fight against you, but
they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares
the Lord, to deliver you.”“ Jeremiah 1:18-19 English
Standard Versions (ESV). God has plans for everyone who repents and
(see 1 John
1:9) asks
forgiveness in the name of Jesus. “16 Rejoice always, 17
pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV. No matter how God uses you or what Jesus provides (see
Philippians 4:11-13); stay faithful because the Lord strengthens you.
Is Jesus calling you? Want
to be sure? Do you want to find true
happiness, peace and purpose in your life?
