The False Prophet

Today’s Feast June 3, 2014- Jeremiah 28 The False Prophet clic aquí en español * Please join us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three year.  Gods Not Dead!  “22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight.” Proverbs 12:22 Jeremiah Chapter 28; “A false prophet opposes Jeremiah. (1-9) The false prophet warned of his approaching death. (10-17)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site   Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 28.  Hananiah the false prophet tickles the ears og God’s people with great lies with (see Jeremiah 28:1-9) false words from his own mind.  God has told us the penalty for lying is (see Revelation 21:8) no liar will enter the kingdom of God.  In the ninth verse we see God’s test for true Prophets, (see Jeremiah 28:9) people who are being fooled by false prophets should read this verse.  Because HannahHananiah prophesized falsely in God's name (see Jeremiah 27:19-22) God’s prophet Jeremiah foretold his death; “16 Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’” 17 In that same year, in the seventh month, the prophet Hananiah died." Jeremiah 27:16-17 English Standard Versions (ESV).  God hates those who lie and don’t repent (see Revelation 21:8 ) even if they are making people feel good.  “1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.“ Proverbs 15:18 ESV.   We must truly understand the power of words (see Genesis 1) And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God’s Word brings repentance and salvation (see John 1:1-5) Jesus is referred to as the Word of God.  We must guard our words for they will (see Matthew 12:36-37) justify, and condemn us. Today’s Feast June 2, 2014- Jeremiah 27 The Yoke of Nebuchadnezzar clic aquí en español * Please join us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three year.  Gods Not Dead!  “22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” Psalm 55:22 Jeremiah Chapter 27; “The neighbouring nations to be subdued. (1-11) Zedekiah is warned to yield. (12-18) The vessels of the temple to be carried to Babylon, but afterwards to be restored. (19-22)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 26.  God tells Jeremiah to prepare a warning to Judah (see Jeremiah 27:1-11) and the surrounding nations to prepare to serve Nebuchadnezzar.  He persuades the king of Judah to surrender, to obey God (see Jeremiah 27:12-18) it is wiser to serve a tyrant than to disobey God.  It is also wiser to surrender ones soul to Jesus (see Mark 8:36) than to lose it in pursuit of the things the world offers.  Jeremiah reminds them that everything that is lost (see Jeremiah 27:19-22) will be returned in God’s good will and timing; “21 thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem: 22 They shall be carried to Babylon and remain there until the day when I visit them, declares the Lord. Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.”" Jeremiah 27:21-22 English Standard Versions (ESV).  There is nothing in the world that compares to God’s love (see James 1:1-9) and serving others in the name of Jesus. “28  so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.“ Hebrews 9:28 ESV.   If anyone puts you down because of you faith in Jesus (see 1 Peter 4:12-19) you have good reason to rejoice.  Our Lord would never ask more from us than we can do (see Matthew 11:29-30) because His yoke is easy. Threatened with Death

Today’s Feast June 1, 2014- Jeremiah 26 Threatened with Death clic aquí en español * Please join us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three year.  Gods Not Dead!  “27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.” Acts 20:27 Jeremiah Chapter 26; “The destruction of the temple and city foretold. (1-6) Jeremiah's life is threatened. (7-15) He is defended by the elders. (16-24)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 26.  The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.  God commanded him to speak to his people (see Jeremiah 25:1-7) and do not hold back one Word God has spoken.   I know from experience when the Holy Spirit urges us to speak to a person about Jesus (see 2 Corinthians 5:20) that we are to obey, knowing that an urgent need may be at hand.  I rode a commuter train to work for many years and on the journey (see Ephesians 6:19-20) I got to know many of the people by playing chess and witnessing.  One Friday night on the way out from Los Angeles I played chess with a man named John.  I felt like I should be witnessing to John because I knew his religion was a false religion.  I was enjoying the chess game so much I reasoned that I could witness about Jesus on Monday.  After all we rode the same train everyday five days a week.  Then on Monday morning when I got to the train station I didn’t see John so I asked some of the other passengers if they knew why he wasn’t on the train today.  One of the other passengers told me; “John had a massive heart attack on Saturday and died.”   I can’t express how bad I felt did John die in his sin because I put off telling him the truth about Jesus?  I know for sure there is nothing more urgent that the Word of God (see Titus 3:14) and as an ambassador for Christ I should never reason away the urges of the Holy Spirit. The people set about to kill Jeremiah because they loved their traditions (see Jeremiah 26:7-15) if they were to follow through and kill him because they didn’t like what God was saying they would be destroyed.  The people who were railing against Jeremiah wouldn’t hesitate to kill a prophet from God (see Jeremiah 26:16-24) because they loved the world and felt secure in their sin.  God gave Jeremiah favor and his life was spared; “24 But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah so that he was not given over to the people to be put to death." Jeremiah 25:36-38  English Standard Versions (ESV).  Our Lord and Savior Jesus has given us eternal life and a purpose (see James 2:13-15) there is no reason for us not act on the Word of God. “2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. Today’s Feast May 31, 2014- Jeremiah 25 The Cup of the Lord's Wrath clic aquí en español * Please join us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three year.  Gods Not Dead!  “19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” Acts 3:19 Jeremiah Chapter 25; “The Jews rebuked for not obeying calls to repentance. (1-7) Their captivity during seventy years is expressly foretold. (8-14) Desolations upon the nations shown by the emblem of a cup of wrath.(15-29) The judgments again declared. (30-38)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site   Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading the book of Jeremiah Chapter 25.  The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.  This people are wicked and unrepentant; (see Jeremiah 25:1-7) they worship false gods made by their own hands.  Because they worship false gods; (see Jeremiah 25:8-14) those who obey God will serve seventy years as slaves.  The people who won’t repent (see Jeremiah 21:9) will die in their sin.  Sin against God may be forgiven by a call to Jesus and repentance though forgiven (see Matthew 5:17-19) just like cancer it leaves scars.    The cup of the lord's wrath (see Jeremiah 25:15-29) will be served to every sinful person in every nation that sins and remains unrepentant; “36 A voice--the cry of the shepherds, and the wail of the lords of the flock! For the LORD is laying waste their pasture, 37 and the peaceful folds are devastated because of the fierce anger of the LORD. 38 Like a lion he has left his lair, for their land has become a waste because of the sword of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger." Jeremiah 25:36-38  English Standard Versions (ESV).  It is not enough to live a Christian life (see James 2:13-15) Jesus expects us to reach out to the sinner and needy with love. “16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.  17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.“ 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17   That great and wonderful day will come and all that have repented from their sin and made Jesus Lord (see James 2:18-26) of their life will be rewarded.  Attending church meetings two days a week is not enough; (see Matthew 28:16-20) Jesus has called on every believer to be ambassadors for salvation.   Because our God’s will is that (see 2 Peter 3:9) none should perish.
