Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of James Chapter 2; “All
professions of faith are vain, if not producing love and justice to others. (1-13) The
necessity of good works to prove the sincerity of faith, which otherwise will
be of no more advantage than the faith of devils. (14-26)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
There
is no room for partiality in the life of those who are called “Christians” (see James 2:1-13) if you
treat some people better than others, you are sinning. We are saved by faith and not by works (see James 2:14-26) the
faith we have in Jesus must produce good works; “24
You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in
the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she
received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For as the body
apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” James 2:24-26 English Standard
Version (ESV). Faith in Jesus is the
only thing that saves anyone (see
Ephesians
2:8-9) therefor we cannot
brag about the works produced by our faith. We hear people complaining
about what the politicians and judges do with great fervor. If they would put the same passion into
their prayer life God would hear from heaven and heal our land; “14
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek
my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and
will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV. There is only one
name under heaven by which people can
be saved (see John
14:6) that is our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.

An overview of the book
of James: “This epistle of James is one of the most instructive writings
in the New Testament. Being chiefly directed against particular errors at
that time brought in among the Jewish Christians, it does not contain the
same full doctrinal statements as the other epistles, but it presents an
admirable summary of the practical duties of all believers. The leading
truths of Christianity are set forth throughout; and on attentive
consideration, it will be found entirely to agree with St. Paul's statements
concerning grace and justification, while it abounds with earnest
exhortations to the patience of hope and obedience of faith and love, interspersed
with warnings, reproofs, and encouragements, according to the characters
addressed. The truths laid down are very serious, and necessary to be
maintained; and the rules for practice ought to be observed in all times. In
Christ there are no dead and sapless branches, faith is not an idle grace;
wherever it is, it brings forth fruit in works.“ - Matthew
Henry Concise.
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading
the book of James Chapter 1; How
to apply to God under troubles, and how to behave in prosperous and in
adverse circumstances. (1-11) To
look upon all evil as proceeding from ourselves, and all good from God.(12-18) The
duty of watching against a rash temper, and of receiving the word of God with
meekness. (19-21) And
of living according thereto. (22-25) The
difference between vain pretences and real religion. (26,27)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
The
testing of our faith serves to build and
strengthen our faith in Jesus (see
James 1:1-11) so we can
endure both the good and bad times. God is good He sent His only son Jesus to
save us (see James 1:12-18) the perfect gift that overcame sin and death. We must be humble and obey Jesus (see James 1:19-21) sharing the
good news in a manner that glorifies God. It is not enough to be in church every
Sunday and Wednesday hearing the Word of God (see James 1:22-25) we must
be doing God’s Word with every deed we do and word we speak. We don’t deceive ourselves with an unbridled
tongue, we must bring our heart and mind into submission in Jesus; “26 If
anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his
tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is
worthless. 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the
Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows
in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained
from the world.” James 1:26-27 English Standard Version (ESV). We must continually strive to discipline
our whole self mind and body (see
Ephesians
6:11-13) to serve God in every
circumstance. By the same token we must
train our earthly and spiritual children to honor and obey the Holy Spirit; “6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not
depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 ESV. We have enduring faith
because of God’s power (see 1
Corinthians 2:5) and not because of human wisdom.
Can you hear Jesus calling you? Do you feel inclined to answer? Do you want to find true happiness, peace
and purpose in your life? If the
answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; admenu.com/calling.htm

Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Ezekiel Chapter 48;
“- Here is a description of the several portions of the land belonging to
each tribe. In gospel times, behold all things are become new. Much is
wrapped up in emblems and numbers. This method God has used to state
mysterious truths in his word, not to be more clearly revealed till the
proper time and season. But into the church of Christ, both in its state of
warfare and triumph, there is free access by faith, from every side. Christ
has opened the kingdom of heaven for all believers. Whoever will, may come,
and take of the water of life, of the tree of life, freely. The Lord is
there, in his church, to be nigh unto them in all they call upon him for.
This is true of every real Christian; whatever soul has in it a living
principle of grace, it may truly be said, The Lord is there. May we be found
citizens of this holy city, and act agreeably to that character; and have the
benefit of the Lord's presence with us, in life, in death, and for evermore.“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
The
LORD God divides the land (see
Ezekiel 48) equally for
those who love Him and He promises He will dwell among them; “35 ... And the name of the
city from that time on shall be, The LORD Is There."” Ezekiel
48:35, English Standard Version (ESV). Likewise Jesus promises to stay (see Hebrews
13:5) with those who love
Him. “6
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our
Maker! 7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the
sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,” Psalm 95:6-7 ESV. God’s Word tell
us that not only will he stay with those who love and serve Him; (see
Romans
8:28) he will promote those who are called according to God’s purpose.
Is Jesus is calling you?
