Today’s Feast
Sep. 10, 2014- Daniel 2
Mystery Has Been Revealed
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“11 And he said to them, "To you has
been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything
is in parables,” Mark 4:11
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Daniel Chapter 2; “Nebuchadnezzar's
dream. (1-13) It
is revealed to Daniel. (14-23) He
obtains admission to the king.(24-30) The
dream and the interpretation. (31-45) Honours
to Daniel and his friends. (46-49)
Verses
1-13 The greatest men are most open to cares and troubles of mind,
which disturb their repose in the night, while the sleep of the labouring man
is sweet and sound… Those who deceived, by pretending to do what they could
not do, were sentenced to death, for not being able to do what they did not
pretend to.
Verses
14-23 Daniel humbly prayed that God would discover to him the king's
dream, and the meaning of it… How much more should we be thankful to God, for
making known the great salvation of the soul to those who are not among the
worldly wise and prudent!
Verses
24-30 Daniel takes away the king's opinion of his magicians and
soothsayers… Let those whom God has
highly favoured and honoured, lay aside all opinion of their own wisdom and
worthiness, that the Lord alone may be praised for the good they have and do.
Verses
31-45 This image represented the kingdoms of the earth, that should
successively rule the nations, and influence the affairs of the Jewish
church. 1. The head of gold signified the Chaldean empire, then in being. 2.
The breast and arms of silver signified the empire of the Medes and Persians.
3. The belly and thighs of brass signified the Grecian empire, founded by
Alexander. 4. The legs and feet of iron signified the Roman empire… As far as
events have gone, the fulfilling this prophetic vision has been most exact
and undeniable; future ages shall witness this Stone destroying the image,
and filling the whole earth.
Verses
46-49 It is our business to direct attention to the Lord, as the
Author and Giver of every good gift. Many have thoughts of the Divine power
and majesty, who do not think of serving God themselves. But all should
strive, that God may be glorified, and the best interests of mankind
furthered.“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
King
Nebuchadnezzar was influenced (see
Daniel 2:46-49) to promote Daniel and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
over the affairs of the province of Babylon; “48
Then the king gave Daniel high honors and many great gifts, and made him
ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief prefect over all the wise
men of Babylon. 49 Daniel made a request of the king, and he appointed
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego over the affairs of the province of Babylon.
But Daniel remained at the king's court.” Daniel 2:48-49 English Standard
Version (ESV). Once again I stress (see Psalm
75:5-7) all promotions come
from God. “4 even to your old age I
am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I
will carry and will save. ” Isaiah 46:4 ESV. Hold onto the Word of God (see 2
Corinthians 11:4) study so you won’t be
fooled by false doctrine. We are saved by our faith in Jesus (see
Romans
4:16) and not by works.

Daniel's Faithfulness

Today’s
Feast

1
Daniel's
Faithfulness
Please

day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three
years. Gods
Not Dead!
An
overview; “Daniel
was of noble birth, if not one of the royal family of Judah. He was carried
captive to Babylon in the fourth year of Jehoiachin, B. C. 606, when a youth. He
was there taught the learning of the Chaldeans, and held high offices, both
under the Babylonian and Persian empires. He was persecuted for his religion,
but was miraculously delivered; and lived to a great age, as he must have been
about ninety-four years old at the time of the last of his visions. The book of
Daniel is partly historical, relating various circumstances which befel himself
and the Jews, at Babylon; but is chiefly prophetical, detailing visions and
prophecies which foretell numerous important events relative to the four great
empires of the world, the coming and death of the Messiah, the restoration of
the Jews, and the conversion of the Gentiles. Though there are considerable
difficulties in explaining the prophetical meaning of some passages in this
book, we always find encouragement to faith and hope, examples worthy of
imitation, and something to direct our thoughts to Christ Jesus upon the cross
and on his glorious throne.“ - Matthew
Henry Concise.
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the
book of Daniel Chapter 1; “The
captivity of Daniel and his companions. (1-7) Their
refusal to eat the king's meat. (8-16) Their
improvement in wisdom. (17-21)“
- Matthew
Henry Concise.
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia attacked Jerusalem and
he (see Daniel 1:1-7)
took Daniel prisoner. Daniel he would
not defile himself with the king's food (see Daniel
1:8-16) because he was faithful to keep God’s law. Daniel could also tell the meaning of dreams and visions
(see Daniel 1:17-21)
and King Nebuchadnezzar preferred his interpretations and wisdom over all the
men of his country who served him; “20
And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of
them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that
were in all his kingdom. 21 And Daniel was there until the first year of King
Cyrus.”
Daniel
1:20-21
English Standard Version (ESV). As
servants of the Most High God (see Psalm
75:5-7)
you and I should know from where promotions come.
You and I have God’s Word so we will understand what good doctrine is;
“1 But
as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine... 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly
passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present
age, ”
Titus 2:1-12
ESV. Hold onto the Word of God (see Galatians
1:6-7) study so you won’t be fooled by false doctrine. We are saved by
our faith in Jesus (see Ephesians
2:8-9)
and our faithfulness will produce good works.

Tend My Sheep
|
Today’s Feast
Sep. 8, 2014-1st Peter 4-5
Tend My Sheep
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“16 He said to him a second time,
"Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes,
Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my
sheep."’ John 21:16
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of 1 Peter Chapter 4; “The
consideration of Christ's sufferings is urged for purity and holiness. (1-6) And
the approaching end of the Jewish state, as a reason for sobriety,
watchfulness, and prayer. (7-11) Believers
encouraged to rejoice and glory in reproaches and sufferings for Christ, and
to commit their souls to the care of a faithful God. (12-19)
Chapter 5; Elders
exhorted and encouraged. (1-4) Younger
Christians are to submit to their elders, and to yield with humility and
patience to God, and to be sober, watchful, and stedfast in faith. (5-9) Prayers
for their growth and establishment. (10-14)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
Christ
suffered here on earth; (see 1 Peter 4:1-11) so each of us must be ready
to suffer as he did. Use the gifts you received to serve one another and glorify
Jesus. Don’t be surprised
or shocked when you are tested; (see
1 Peter 4:12-19) if we suffer while obeying God, we are and must keep on doing what
is right.
This
letter is to encourage us in love as we share Christ’s suffering (see 1 Peter 5:1-11) Jesus himself will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you
in His work. In
conclusion, the apostle prays to God for them (see 1
Peter 5:12-14) reminding them how kind God really is; “14
Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in
Christ.” 1 Peter 5:14 English Standard
Version (ESV). I would remind you Saints
the Word of God needs no extra books or organizations to clarify the Gospel
for us; (see John
14:26) the Holy Spirit does
that for us. Depend only on God,
Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide us; “10 Teach me to do your will, for you
are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” Psalm 143:10 ESV. Because Jesus
loves us we will overcome all difficulties; (see Psalm
23:3 ) through the power of
His might we are conquerors. In all
things we should pray (see Matthew
4:4) and depend on the
Holy Spirit and Word of God for the sustenance of God’s flock.
Is Jesus calling you? Do you care to hear of God’s plans? Do you want to find true happiness, peace
and purpose in your life? If the
answer is yes to any of these questions please click the following link; admenu.com/calling.htm
