Today’s Feast
Sep. 17, 2014- Daniel 9
Daniel’s Prayer
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“14 "But when you see the abomination
of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand),
then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Mark 13:14
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Daniel Chapter 9; “Daniel
considers the time of the captivity. (1-3) His
confession of sin, and prayer. (4-19) The
revelation concerning the coming of the Messiah. (20-27)
Verses
1-3 Daniel learned from the books of the prophets, especially from
Jeremiah, that the desolation of Jerusalem would continue seventy years,
which were drawing to a close. God's promises are to encourage our prayers,
not to make them needless; and when we see the performance of them approaching,
we should more earnestly plead them with God.
Verses
4-19 In every prayer we must make confession, not only of the sins
we have been guilty of, but of our faith in God, and dependence upon him, our
sorrow for sin, and our resolutions against it… The humble, fervent,
believing earnestness of this prayer should ever be followed by us.
Verses
20-27 An answer was immediately sent to Daniel's prayer, and it is a
very memorable one… This seals the sum of prophecy, and confirms the covenant
with many; and while we rejoice in the blessings of salvation, we should
remember what they cost the Redeemer. How can those escape who neglect so
great salvation!.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
Gabriel
tells Daniel the Chosen Leader will be broken and killed (see Daniel 9:20-27) then a foreign rulers army will leave the city and the temple in
ruins; “26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an
anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the
prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall
come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are
decreed. 27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and
for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on
the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed
end is poured out on the desolator."” Daniel 9:26-27 English Standard Versions (ESV). The Holy Spirit still speaks to believers
today (see John
14:26) through God’s Word
and our conscience. We are to walk in love and
imitate Jesus as we carry the good news; “1 Therefore be imitators
of God, as beloved children.” Ephesians 5:1 ESV. We must turn away from sinful talk (see 1
Timothy 1:19) and keep faith in
Jesus with a good conscience. No
matter where or how you serve our Lord (see 1
Corinthians 13:1) we must do so in love
with a good conscience. Keep
prayerfully reading God’s Word as often as you can (see Romans 10:17) because this is how we grow stronger in our faith.

“6
And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures,
saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a
denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!"” Revelation
6:6
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the
book of Daniel Chapter 8;
“Daniel's vision of the ram and the he-goat. (1-14) The
interpretation of it. (15-27)
Verses
1-14 God gives Daniel a foresight of the destruction of other kingdoms,
which in their day were as powerful as that of Babylon... Christ died to cleanse
his church; and he will so cleanse it as to present it blameless to
himself.
Verses
15-27 The eternal Son of God stood before the prophet in the appearance of a
man, and directed the angel Gabriel to explain the vision… Thus should we endeavour to compose our minds
for attending to the duties to which each is appointed, in the church and in the
world.”
- Matthew
Henry Concise.
Daniels vision troubled him (see Daniel 8:15-27)
and one like the Son of God sent an angel to explain it to him; “26 The
vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been told is true, but seal up the vision, for
it refers to many days from now." 27 And I, Daniel, was
overcome and lay sick for some days. Then I rose and went about the king's
business, but I was appalled by the vision and did not understand
it.”
Daniel
8:26-27
English Standard Versions (ESV). We
cannot let sin be our master; (see Romans
6:13-14)
because we are serving Jesus.
“13
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his
works in the meekness of wisdom.”
James 3:13
ESV. We must turn away from sinful acts (see James 1:21) and
Instead be a humble servant of Christ.
Remain faithful in your service to Jesus (see James 1:21) or
else your faith in Christ will be in vain.
If you are perplexed about anything prayerfully turn to the Word of God
(see John 14:26) and
ask the Holy Spirit for understanding.
Can
you hear Jesus calling you? Are you ready to meet Him? Do you want to find true
happiness, peace and purpose in your life?

Daniel’s Vision of Four Beasts
Today’s Feast

Daniel’s Vision of Four Beasts
Please

“24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever
hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come
into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” John 5:24
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Daniel Chapter 7; “Daniel's
vision of the four beasts. (1-8) and
of Christ's kingdom. (9-14) The
interpretation. (15-28)
Verses
1-8 This vision contains the same prophetic representations with
Nebuchadnezzar's dream… But the dominion given to each has a limit; their
wrath shall be made to praise the Lord, and the remainder of it he will
restrain.
Verses
9-14 These verses are for the comfort and support of the people of
God, in reference to the persecutions that would come upon them. Many New
Testament predictions of the judgment to come, have plain allusion to this
vision; especially ( revelation
20:11 revelation
20:12 )... But ere the solemn time arrives, for manifesting the
glory of God to all worlds in his dealings with his creatures, we may expect
that the doom of each of us will be determined at the hour of our death; and
before the end shall come, the Father will openly give to his incarnate Son,
our Mediator and Judge, the inheritance of the nations as his willing
subjects.
Verses
15-28 It is desirable to obtain the right and full sense of what we
see and hear from God; and those that would know, must ask by faithful and
fervent prayer… The gathering together
the whole family of God will be a blessedness of Christ's coming.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
Daniels
visions terrified him; (see Daniel 7:15-28) however in the end the greatest kingdom of all will be given to us saints;
“27 And the kingdom and the dominion and
the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the
people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting
kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them.' 28 "Here is the
end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly alarmed me, and my
color changed, but I kept the matter in my heart."” Daniel 7:27-28 English Standard Version (ESV). Like Daniel you and I shall stand firm in
love and faith; (see 1
Timothy 1:9) knowing the law isn’t
made for righteous persons, but for the unrepentant sinners. “16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16 ESV. We shall hold fast to the love and faith in Jesus (see
Matthew
12:33) and in serving Him we
will be bearers of good fruit.
Listen carefully! Is Jesus calling you? Are you ready to hear Him?
