Simply Promoting Jesus!
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“Whoever pursues righteousness
and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.” Psalm 33:4-5, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in 1 Kings Chapter
1;
“The history now before us accounts
for the affairs of the kingdoms of Judah and Israel, yet with special regard
to the kingdom of God among them; for it is a sacred history. It is earlier
as to time, teaches much more, and is more interesting than any common
histories.
David's declining age. (1-4) Adonijah aspires to the
throne. (5-10) David
makes Solomon king. (11-31) Solomon is
anointed king, and Adonijah's usurpation stopped. (32-53)” - Matthew
Henry Concise.
David is old and his health
is declining. Adonijah the son of Haggith, promotes himself to David’s
throne. After Nathan and Bathsheba explain the situation to King David,
he makes Solomon, his promised heir king. Solomon became king, and Adonijah’s
usurpation is stopped; ”49 Then all the guests of Adonijah trembled
and rose, and each went his own way. 50 And Adonijah feared Solomon. So he
arose and went and took hold of the horns of the altar. 51 Then it was told
Solomon, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon, for behold, he has laid hold
of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that
he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’” 52 And Solomon said,
“If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the
earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.” 53 So King Solomon
sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and paid homage
to King Solomon, and Solomon said to him, “Go to your house.”” 1 Kings 1:49-53, ESV. This
is another example of a person trying to take power over God’s will. God’s
Word tell us that God promotes one and puts down another. The
powers appointed over us are promoted by God. Therefore we should
never presume we are more important than another to God. That is
the kind of behavior that will only embarrass us in the best of
circumstances. “he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now
you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my
eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all
peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people
Israel.” Luke 2:28-32, ESV. In
all we do and share put God at the forefront. The God purposed
life keeps God first and exalts others over ourselves in His kingdom. We
should always keep the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through
the blood of our Lord Jesus. In this way we are never doormats, we
are simply promoting Jesus over ourselves. If the Lord is willing
I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Don’t
get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation
depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life
to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to
get every Saint; “36
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of
heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36, ESV. We are

Looking For Friends?
Today’s Feast

Feb. 5, 2016 – Acts 28
Looking For Friends?
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“For the word of the Lord is
upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and
justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.” Psalm 33:4-5, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 28; “Paul kindly received at Melita. (1-10) He
arrives at Rome. (11-16) His
conference with the Jews. (17-22) Paul
preaches to the Jews, and abides at Rome a prisoner. (23-31)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
After seeing something
different about him, Paul was kindly received at Melita. Paul arrives at Rome
and many brothers there came to the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to
fellowship with him. Paul continues to share the good news, about the Messiah
Jesus as prophesied in the Old Testament with the Jews. Paul preaches to the
Jews, and lives in Rome as a prisoner. ”28 Therefore let it be known
to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will
listen.”29: And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, having much
dispute among themselves. 30 He lived there two whole years at his own
expense, and welcomed all who came to him, 31 proclaiming the kingdom of God
and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without
hindrance.” Acts
28:28-31, ESV. Paul
continues to share the good new boldly no matter his circumstances. I believe that we can learn a
lot about God’s will and the purpose the Holy Spirit has for our lives as we
continue to read the Word of God. “26 But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he
will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have
said to you.” John
14:26, ESV. We are to prayerfully, lovingly and boldly carry this same
message to all persons. Keeping
the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through the blood of our
Lord Jesus. You can carry this awesome, message in love to all people. Some
may reject you and or the salvation message, to their own detriment. Many
will accept Jesus, with an open heart. When they accept Jesus you will have
more brothers or sisters in the family of God! Matthew Henry phrased it well
in his commentary on the 28th Chapter
of of Acts; “…God can make strangers to be friends; friends in distress.
Those who are despised for homely manners, are often more friendly than the
more polished; and the conduct of heathens, or persons called barbarians,
condemns many in civilized nations, professing to be Christians…” If
the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Avoid The Shipwreck!
Today’s Feast
![]()
Feb. 4, 2016 – Acts 27
Avoid The Shipwreck!
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“1 I
love you, O LORD, my strength. 2 The LORD is my rock
and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I
take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:1-2, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 27; “Paul's voyage towards Rome. (1-11) Paul
and his companions endangered by a tempest. (12-20) He
receives a Divine assurance of safety. (21-29) Paul
encourages those with him. (30-38) They
are shipwrecked. (39-44)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
His faith in Jesus puts Paul on a voyage towards Rome. A
dangerous storm bears down on Paul and his companions. God sends an angel to
tell Paul all aboard the ship will be saved. Because of his faith in our Lord
Jesus. Paul instructs those with him so that all will be saved from the
storm. They are shipwrecked, and because the Holy Spirit worked together so
that they are all safe. ”42 The soldiers’ plan was to kill the
prisoners, lest any should swim away and escape. 43 But the centurion,
wishing to save Paul, kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered
those who could swim to jump overboard first and make for the land, 44 and
the rest on planks or on pieces of the ship. And so it was that all were
brought safely to land.” Acts
27:42-44, ESV. You may think that it was coincidence that they were all
saved. I tell you it was because of the Holy Spirit that they all were saved.
As we can see by the soldiers plan to kill the prisoners, it’s not in man’s
fleshly nature to work together that all might be saved. “9 The
Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is
patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that
all should reach repentance.” 2
Peter 3:9, ESV. There is a way that any person who will can be saved. In
serving Jesus we are keeping
the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through the blood of our
Lord Jesus. It’s is not in man’s fleshly nature to give up what won’t last
for that which is good and eternal. Keep remembering Jesus first, not worldly
things. We can all be saved from the shipwrecked way of life, just as Paul
and all those aboard their ship were. If the Lord is
willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Who Is This Gift For?
Today’s Feast

Feb. 3, 2016 – Acts 26
Who Is This Gift For?
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“But I will sing of your
strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you
have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.” Psalm 59:16, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 26; “Paul's defence before Agrippa. (1-11) His
conversion and preaching to the Gentiles. (12-23) Festus
and Agrippa convinced of Paul's innocence. (24-32)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
The promise by God of our savior Jesus is Paul’s chief defense
before king Agrippa. Paul tells of his conversion and preaching to all
people. Festus and Agrippa are convinced of Paul’s innocence. ”30
Then the king rose, and the governor and Bernice and those who were sitting
with them. 31 And when they had withdrawn, they said to one another, “This
man is doing nothing to deserve death or imprisonment.” 32 And Agrippa said
to Festus, “This man could have been set free if he had not appealed to
Caesar.”” Acts
26:30-32, ESV. Some may say that Paul’s own words delivered him to king
Agrippa. I think it was God’s will that he was delivered to the king and his
court, after all God’s gift is to all men. “ 6 And while
they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And
she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths
and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the
inn.” Luke
2:6-7, ESV. Think of this Paul was testifying of the same Christ Jesus
that was born to Mary! Please help us in keeping
the first thing first. The gift of God, salvation through the blood of our
Lord Jesus. With the promise of life that comes with faith in Jesus, comes
purpose to share him with all the people on earth. People of all stations,
races, creeds, accomplishments, nothing was created without our God. Nothing
or no one can be saved, without Jesus! If the Lord is
willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Ask Jesus!
Today’s Feast
![]()
Feb. 2, 2016 – Acts 25
Ask Jesus!
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in
God’s Word in approximately three years.
“But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor
ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who
love him”—” 1 Corinthians 2:9, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 25; “Paul before Festus, he appeals to Caesar. (1-12) Festus
confers with Agrippa respecting Paul. (13-27)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
Paul is brought before Festus and there
Paul feeling he had wronged no one appeals to Caesar. Festus finding no reason
to punish him confers with Agrippa about Paul’s supposed trespasses. ”25
But I found that he had done nothing deserving death. And as he himself
appealed to the emperor, I decided to go ahead and send him. 26 But I have
nothing definite to write to my lord about him. Therefore I have brought him
before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that, after we
have examined him, I may have something to write. 27 For it seems to me
unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to indicate the charges against
him.”” Acts
24:24-27, ESV. Just like Paul, when sharing the true gospel of Jesus, we
may be accused of trespass. Because we serve the one true God, if we depend
on the leading of the Holy Spirit, Jesus will take care of us. “[The
Birth of Jesus Christ] In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus
that all the world should be registered. And Joseph also went up from
Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is
called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be
registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.” Luke 2:1, 4-5 ESV . One thing is for sure, our
God is awesome. Jesus promised
that he would never leave nor forsake us! Join us in keeping the first thing
first. The gift of God, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Do you
want a true blessing? Ask Jesus to be Lord of your life. In doing so you will
have a more abundant and purposeful life, everlasting.
If the
Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow
