Eyes On And Faith In Jesus!

Today’s Feast

Mar. 17, 2016 2 Kings 19

Eyes On And Faith In Jesus!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 23:1-3, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 19; “Hezekiah receives an answer of peace. (1-7) Sennacherib's letter. (8-19) His fall is prophesied. (20-34) The Assyrian army destroyed, Sennacherib slain. (35-37)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 19.  Hezekiah realizes that God has been disrespected; he calls on God, and receives a promise of peace. Sennacherib sends a letter to Hezekiah saying do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you. Sennacherib’s fall is prophesied because he raged against God and his people.  The Assyrian army is destroyed, and Sennacherib slain; “35 And that night the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies. 36 Then Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went home and lived at Nineveh. 37 And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him down with the sword and escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.2nd Kings 19:35-37, ESV.   Look at the contrast between these two kings.   Sennacherib raged against God and his life was taken.   Hezekiah called out to God in faith and he was grated peace by God.  “[The Lord Is My Rock and My Fortress] [To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David, the servant of the Lord, who addressed the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord rescued him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. He said:] I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.Psalm 18:1-2, ESV.  God never changes Saints, never leave your position of faith, and call in the name of Jesus for what you may need.  Jesus said he will never forsake us, let’s keep the first thing first!  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Keep your eyes and your faith in and on Jesus.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Who Said It?

Today’s Feast

Mar. 16, 2016 2 Kings 18

Who Said It?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, Colossians 3:12, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 18; “Good reign of Hezekiah in Judah, Idolatry. (1-8) Sennacherib invades Judah. (9-16) Rabshakeh's blasphemies. (17-37)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 18.  God has saved us, we should listen to him.  If we don’t like the leaders appointed over us we should cry out to God.  Unless a person is born again the previous two sentences would sound foolish.  Today we see the faith of Hezekiah tested, and he fails to trust God.  Then it’s just like Satan to stir up distrust in God’s people.  Hezekiah did not trust God, so the king of Assyria takes advantage of the situation and starts a campaign of lies.  “30 Do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord by saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’ 31 Do not listen to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: ‘Make your peace with me and come out to me. Then each one of you will eat of his own vine, and each one of his own fig tree, and each one of you will drink the water of his own cistern,2nd Kings 18:30-31, ESV.   He doesn’t threaten the people; on the contrary he offers them a life of abundance.  In every case of a person questioning their faith in God, Satan will be there lying and accusing.  He doesn’t come to people as the ugly black hearted entity he is.  He comes in the form of “good sense” offering abundance and therein is the lie. “16 But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.Psalm 59:16, ESV.  Saints When the going gets hard that is the time to take refuge in the Lord.  Remember faith comes by hearing the word of God. Herein is our fight and dependence on God; “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.Ephesians 6:12, ESV.  Let’s keep the first thing first, salvation through Jesus, the Lamb of God.  Put on that helmet of salvation and listen with spiritually tuned eyes and ears.  Look to see from whom the message comes.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Nano Second In Eternity!

Today’s Feast

Mar. 15, 2016 2 Kings 17

Nano Second In Eternity!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 17; “Reign of Hoshea in Israel, The israelites carried captives by the Assyrians. (1-6) Captivity of the Israelites. (7-23)The nations placed in the land of Israel. (24-41) ” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 16.  God expects His people to love and honor him.  We cannot and must not serve two masters. The Israelites were trying to serve multiple gods, and God pulls His protection from them. “36 but you shall fear the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm. You shall bow yourselves to him, and to him you shall sacrifice. 37 And the statutes and the rules and the law and the commandment that he wrote for you, you shall always be careful to do. You shall not fear other gods, 38 and you shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods, 39 but you shall fear the Lord your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.” 40 However, they would not listen, but they did according to their former manner. 2nd Kings 17:36-40, ESV.   There is only one God and he wants our hearts to turn to Him only.  “9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"1 Corinthians 2:9, ESV.  Saints if we had any idea what God has in store for us when he takes us home, no one could even think of any other thing.  Can you imagine Jesus greeting you saying; well done my good and faithful one?  With that in mind it is easy to keep the first thing first.  That being salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Let your light shine keep your eyes on Jesus!  Remember this first part of life is less than a Nano second in eternity. If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Set Free From What?

Today’s Feast

Mar. 14, 2016 2 Kings 16

Set Free From What?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Psalm 86:5, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 16; “Ahaz, king of Judah, His wicked reign. (1-9) Ahaz takes a pattern from an idol's altar. (10-16) Ahaz spoils the temple. (17-20)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 16.  We see more turmoil in the Holy Land, King Ahaz holds the Sabbath in contempt.  He holds God in low esteem as he seeks to please the king of Assyria. “17 And King Ahaz cut off the frames of the stands and removed the basin from them, and he took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it and put it on a stone pedestal. 18 And the covered way for the Sabbath that had been built inside the house and the outer entrance for the king he caused to go around the house of the Lord, because of the king of Assyria.2nd Kings 16:17-18, ESV.  Believers should reach out to Jesus when the going gets rough. Sometimes it is fear that causes men to sin against God. Sin compounds itself when men in desperation, try to please man. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.Deuteronomy 6:4-5, ESV.  God has plans for every ounce of your strength, He wants us to love and trust him above all else.  Let’s keep the first thing first.  That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Do we please man over God, when we have sinned?  Putting God first sets us free from sin.  Ask God for help in hard times, when sin is dragging you down, ask for forgiveness in Jesus name, he alone overcame death and corruption. If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 15; “Reign of Azariah, or Uzziah, king of Judah. (1-7) The latter kings of Israel. (8-31) Jotham, king of Judah. (32-38)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 15.  We see a lot of turmoil in the Holy Land, as we read today’s Feast.Jotham the son of Uzziah, reigns as king of Judah.  Though he did what was right in the eyes of the lord, he didn’t do everything that God expected.  God allowed army’s to continue to raid his kingdom because he did things halfway.  “37 In those days the Lord began to send Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah. 38 Jotham slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.2nd Kings 15:37-38, ESV.  We can’t serve our God halfway. Jesus is the center of a Godly life, with no high places on the side.  When we sin we must repent and ask God to forgive us.  With everything we’ve read in God’s Word we know we can depend on God.  “5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.Psalm 86:5, ESV.  We are saved, by grace not by our own works.  When we sin we must be faithful to repent and ask God for forgiveness.  Jesus loves you, keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  God is not willing that any should perish, so he is true to forgive us when we ask for forgiveness. If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Cross The Finish Line!

Today’s Feast

Cross The Finish Line!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, Deuteronomy 7:9, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 13; “Reign of Jehoahaz. (1-9) Jehoash, king of Israel, Elisha dying. (10-19) Elisha's death, The victories of Jehoash. (20-25)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 13.  Today we read as Elisha finishes his service to God.  It seems he crossed the finish line so well his very bones were blessed.    “20 So Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. 21 And as a man was being buried, behold, a marauding band was seen and the man was thrown into the grave of Elisha, and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.2nd Kings 13:20-21, ESV.  How precious It would be to hear our Lord and Savior say; “…, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’” Matthew 25:21, ESV.  No matter what you offer to God, or what your station in life on the job or in the Church is; do it for Jesus. If you do when you cross the finish line Jesus will say to you; “Well Done”!   If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.
