Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 36.   Today we witness the step by step destruction of Jerusalem.   The evil one enters in with his sin slowly so that God’s people are not shocked. Jehoahaz reigned three months before the king of Egypt over threw him and begin taxing God’s people. The king of Egypt put Eliakim on the throne. Neco took Jehoahaz his brother to Egypt.  Jehoiakim (AKA Eliakim) did what was evil to his God. Jehoiachin his son reigned three months and ten days. He was insolent to God. Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem followed suite stiffened his neck and hardened his heart against the God of Israel. God had compassion on his people, persistently sending his word. The people remained stiff necked and mocked God. The king of the Chaldeans captured and burned Jerusalem.  He sacked the city and those he didn’t kill he took as slaves. The proclamation of Cyrus;   “22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing: 23 “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you of all his people, may the Lord his God be with him. Let him go up.’”” 2 Chronicles 36:22-23, ESV.  God showed patience and gave his people many chances to repent and turn to Him before he allowed the destruction of Jerusalem.  They were turned against God by degree.  It was not all at once.  Saints look at our nations; television of today wouldn’t have been stood for thirty years ago.  I point to TV because it is a good barometer showing how Satan crept in degenerating slowly year after year.  Look at our politicians; passing legislation to condone sin and promiscuous acts, by changing our laws slowly year after year.  Who will step up and champion Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit, in the changeless face of sin?  It’s time to put your beliefs on the line.  It’s time we take a stand against sin and for God.  Where do we start?  I think we need to earnestly turn to God in prayer. “14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14, ESV. And we need to follow through living Christ centered lives.  Full filling our purposes to God through Jesus; “25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.Hebrews 7:25, ESV.  Through Jesus we can live without sin, with a purpose.  Saints you and I are charged with sharing Jesus with the world until He comes for us (see Matthew 28:18-20). Mankind is ripe for harvest!  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.  Matthew 7:13-14, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 35.   In order to please God the Passover is kept by Josiah.  Once again we see God supply the means for what He requires.  God leads him to make sure at everyone in his kingdom has what they needed for the Passover.   Josiah  doesn’t hear the word from God.  Because he doesn’t he is slain in battle.   “22 Nevertheless, Josiah did not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to fight with him. He did not listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, but came to fight in the plain ofMegiddo. 23 And the archers shot King Josiah. And the king said to his servants, “Take me away, for I am badly wounded.”” 2 Chronicles 35:22-23 , ESV.   Though King Josiah serves God, he doesn’t wait on God.  Why did he disguise himself to hide from Neco or God? No matter why he disguised himself, he is slain in the battle because you can’t disobey or hide from God. “27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ..Colossians 1:27-28, ESV. When we take communion it is much like the Passover in form (see Luke 22:18-20).  Though we are living to please our Lord and Savior Jesus we need to wait on and listen to the Holy Spirit, who brings all things to our remembrance; “26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26, ESV.  Be sure to put all things through the test by holding them up to the Word of God.  If you’re faithful to love and follow Jesus and conduct yourself according to His purpose you will prosper in all things (see Romans 8:27-29).  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 34   The bible (The Word of god) tells about the good reign of Josiah in Judah.  We see early on that he set out trying serve God by knocking down high places and smashing Idols to dust.  Then as he put his people to repair the temple the book that contained God’s law was found. It was read t Josiah and that’s when he found out what God really wanted.   “31 And the king stood in his place and made a covenant before theLord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.32 Then he made all who were present in Jerusalem and in Benjamin join in it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.” 2 Chronicles 34:31-32, ESV. Most people don’t read the bible (The Word of god) until after they are saved. That’s why many of them think that if you act good God will save them. The Word of God tells us what God really wants. “18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lambwithout blemish or spot.” 1 Peter 1:18-19, ESV    He wants us to know that Jesus already paid the full price for all of our sin before we even sinned.  He wants us to have a personal relationship with him (see Revelation 3:19-21).  He wants us to love him with all our hearts (see Matthew 22:36-40).  And because he is not willing that any should perish he wants us to share God’s love with the whole world (see Matthew 28:19).   That’s right we are really saved to a Jesus centered life, a purpose filled life!   That is what we find in God’s Word. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 33.  Manasseh’s sins were overwhelming as he worshipped false gods in high places.  Manasseh realized where the sin of himself and his people was leading them.  He repented and asked God for forgiveness.  God is awesome and full of grace; God forgave and healed Manasseh and his people.  Amon was wicked even worse than his father.  When he was warned or convicted of his sins he never repented and turned to God. “23 And he did not humble himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more. 24 And his servants conspired against him and put him to death in his house. 25 But the people of the land struck down all those who had conspired against King Amon. And the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.” 2 Chronicles 33:23-25, ESV.  It doesn’t seem necessary to tell a sinner he is dying in sin.  The sinner knows he is sinning and living in the dark places.  God speaks to the heart of the sinner and God’s servants tell him about God’s grace and how God loved them so much; Jesus died for their sins.  These things infuriate the sinner that chooses to ignore God’s grace. God will not forgive those who fail to turn from their sin. For it is written; “11 As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11, ESV.   We can accept God’s gift of eternal life through Jesus or we can reject it.  If sinners ignore God’s calling long enough; God will stop calling.  “28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done” Romans 1:28, ESV.  God will not bully or nag sinners, God will simply stop calling.  If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.Ephesians 3:17-19, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 32   King Hezekiah and the Lord’s people are still serving and trusting God.  King Sennacherib and his people are worshiping gods made by men. Sennacherib is defeated by the Lord God. (1-23) Hezekiah in sickness shows the failure of his flesh, his sin was, pride. He realized that his pride would be his downfall he repented and called upon God to forgive him.  God forgave him and his reign remained prosperous to his death. “20 Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. 21 And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.” 2 Chronicles 32:20-21 English Standard Version (ESV).  Our flesh can make us proud while God is blessing us.  If we turn to Jesus and sincerely repent God examines our hearts. Jesus is true to save us from ourselves and Satan.  Therefore we give God the glory for all things good.  “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.Romans 1:20, ESV   There are no excuses if we listen to our hearts and claim the credit for God’s work we will fall.  If we are quick to give God all the glory we will prosper and have peace that passes understanding.

Q: What is the goal of the feast?

A: To read every word in God’s Word in about 3 years! To study and grow in faith!  To continually watch ourselves and our relationship with Jesus! If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 31   King Hezekiah loved God with all his heart and his subjects in turn loved God.  King Hezekiah’s faith and love for God inspired his subjects and they destroyed all the Idols and high places in the kingdom.  “20 Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. 21 And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.” 2 Chronicles 31:20-21, ESV.  God knows our hearts Saints.  If we demonstrate the kind of faith that lights up our life, those around us will be hungry and yearn for salvation.  “28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”John 10:28-30, ESV.  Jesus saved us and overcame death for us.  We are free to love God with all our heart.  As we serve God so that our light shines we will draw others to Jesus.  If we possess the love of God ourselves, those around us will draw people to Jesus.  So what’s becoming of us? We will become fishers of men. If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
