Rebels and Idolaters

The Best of the Feast

Rebels and Idolaters

Please join us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.  Gods Not Dead!

5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,” Colossians 3:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Ezekiel Chapter 20; Ezekiel warns the elders in Israel; (Ezekiel 20:1-9) God will justly punish those who willfully go on in their sin.   Ezekiel reminds them (Ezekiel 20:10-26) of their history of sin and idolatry in the wilderness.  How their ancestors also rejected God, His law and condoned sin (Ezekiel 20:27-32) how do they think they will escape God’s judgment.   If they continue to practice in and ignore the power of God’s grace (Ezekiel 20:33-44) they will see the hateful nature of sinand God’s wrath. While Judah and Jerusalem had a large population (Ezekiel 20:45-49) they remained small in the fruit of the spirit. Those who deny God’s Word will suffer God’s wrath; “48 All flesh shall see that I, the Lord, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.”’” 49 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! They say of me, ‘Does he not speak parables?’”" Ezekiel 20:48-49 NKJV.  We are to separate ourselves from the sin and idolatry of this world (1 John 2:15-17) while we carry the Word of God and the love of Jesus to them.  We must not be swayed by what we see; “7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”” 1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV. What does God see (Romans 3:10-23) when he looks at the heart of an unrepentant idolater?  What will God see when he looks on the heart of the repentant person (Romans 10:9-10) who accepts Jesus?   It is time for each of us (Deuteronomy 30:19) to choose sides. If the Lord is willing I will write and share the Feast tomorrow.

Today’s Verse; “[ Joy in the Fellowship of God ] [ A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. ] O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1 NKJV.

8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.” Romans 14:8 New King James Version (NKJV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Ezekiel Chapter 19; Ezekiel, is singing a funeral song for two of Israel’s leaders; (Ezekiel 19:1-9) as the mother waited one died then the other.  Jerusalem was flourishing and fruitful (Ezekiel 19:10-14) and she was plucked up and burned because her wickedness. This Lamentation (funeral song) is sung with great sorrow; “13 Now it is planted in the desert, in a dry and thirsty land. 14 Fire spread from one of its main branches and consumed its fruit. No strong branch is left on it fit for a ruler’s scepter.’ “This is a lament and is to be used as a lament.”” Ezekiel 19:13-14) NKJV.  The battle we fight to day (Ephesians 6:12) is against the same wickedness found in Jerusalem.  We must be prepared to battle this wickedness; “13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,” Ephesians 6:13-14 NKJV. Standing in the power of Jesus our song will be a victory song (1 John 5:4) not a lamentation of great sorrow. If the Lord is willing I will write and share the Feast tomorrow.

“9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;” Romans 2:9 New King James Version (NKJV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Ezekiel Chapter 18; The Word of the Lord came to Ezekiel; (Ezekiel 18:1-20) God isn’t prejudice every person will reap their just rewards.  All persons who repent of their sinful ways and turn to God (Ezekiel 18:21-29) will be forgiven because our God is Just.  God’s doesn’t want His people to die for their sins (Ezekiel 18:30-32) so every person should turn to Him to be forgiven; “32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”” Ezekiel 18:32 NKJV.  We are forgiven (1 John 2:12) because we accepted God’s gift of life; “7 You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah” Psalm 32:7 NKJV. Continue to trust in God in all your ways (Proverbs 3:5-6) let all glory be given to God in the name of Jesus. If the Lord is willing I will write and share the Feast tomorrow.

Two Eagles and a Vine

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17 New King James Version (NKJV).

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Ezekiel Chapter 17; Conquerors are often depicted as eagles as it is in this parable; (Ezekiel 17:1-10) God uses their destructive actions to serve His purpose.  Zedekiah sinned by being ungrateful to God (Ezekiel 17:11-21) so Israel met up with God’s righteous Judgment.  God’s parable is explained to the Israelites (Ezekiel 17:22-24) by the Lord’s Prophet Ezekiel;  “24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the Lord, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the Lord, have spoken and have done it.”” Ezekiel 17:24 NKJV.  You and I walked in the darkness of the world (Ephesians 5:8) until we accepted God’s gift of salvation; “12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 NKJV. Ask yourselves; how do I glorify the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:20) am I truly His ambassador?   How would Jesus frame the parable (Matthew 13:29-39) about my life, how would it be explained?  If the Lord is willing I will write and share the Feast tomorrow.
