God awesome and true! – 2 Kings 11

Jan 27, 2013 - 2 Kings 11

Dear  Saints,

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 11.  Athaliah kills all the known line of David and usurps the government of Judah.  Jehoash who was hidden from her and is made king.  Athaliah Is cast out like Satan from power.  Athaliah is put to death.   The worship of the Lord restored when God picks the seven year old to be king.  “21 Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.“  2nd Kings 11:21 English - Standard Version (ESV).  Sometimes we are quick to complain about our leadership even in a society where we choose our own leaders.  I’m here to let you know that God chooses our leaders according to how we serve the Lord.  Some may say that “money” makes the choice, but God’s Word say’s it is God.  “5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.“  Psalm 75:5-7 King James Version (KJV).  How does this affect you and I saint?  If you really don’t know take a look at the Israelites and where their complaining got them as they were led by Moses in the wilderness.  If we really want a change in leadership we must turn to God!  That’s what God’s Word say’s. “14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV.  We are not supposed to complain about our leaders or make them the butt of our jokes.  Think twice about what you have to say as a child of God.  Let your speech glorify God because you are the light of the world.  “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” Ephesians 6:12-13 ESV.  This means that we should be thankful to God even whenever and wherever He his will is done.   Understand that Jesus keep his own.  Along with that keep the first thing first. This is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  You can be assured our awesome God never changes.  He is eternally true and true to us as his children.
